Why bring this old troll thread back up? Darnold has the potential to be a franchise QB if he can put it together. He has physical gifts that PJ can only dream of. IF he does not work out we still need a QB, with PJ you know from the jump we need a new QB.

I was as well and I watched Jake play long before Cam. Jake was a career 59% completion guy, Cam was at 60% its a wash, Jake had zero in the rushing department. Its cool you like Jake because reasons, but the reasons are not because he was better than Cam in his prime at anything.

What? He makes millions for doing basically nothing and has a hot wife? Sounds like hating to me.

I mean legitimate reasons, Cam played with coaches with that same mindset. Jake had 1/4 the talent Cam had.

Any correct answer has to include Cam. The question is what player in their prime, Cam in his prime is the best player we ever had. Gross has to be #2 because of the state of our O-line. #2 could change over time depending on how the team is constructed but #1 will almost always be the same.

The problem is we did not want Fields, he was the 4th QB taken. We traded for Darnold because we knew the top guys were gone and we did not want to trade three 1st round picks to go up and get one of them. Fields is neither Lamar or Murray. We still need to see him in real NFL games, right now he is still behind Andy Dalton on the depth chart. Im not saying Darnold is the answer, but they did not think Fields was either. More than likely our QB search is still ongoing.

We dont know what Fields is, he did not look great against the bills backups. He could be a massive bust.

Sure lets count his college QBs since the top recruits were dying to go to Temple or Baylor, he just decided he did not want them.

Seriously, these guys in the XFL are bottom of the barrel talent. This so called great OL that medina keeps talking about is complete garbage. 1 of them is in the CFL and the rest of them are free agents. Most of those XFL guys were getting their first game action since 2018 or so. The panthers OL would look like all pros going up against those trash 4th-5th string pass rushers.

Wow so..... I guess we need to upgrade since everyone of those OL from the roughnecks are free agents. It seems like if they were that good at least some of them would be on an NFL roster. NOTHING in the XFL can even hold a candle to NFL talent. This conversation is over, you know absolutely nothing about football.

Stating than any collection of players from the XFL is better than an NFL teams starting unit is blasphemy. Being a fan of PJ should look something like: 'I'm glad we have PJ as a backup in case our starting QB misses a game or two maybe he can hold down the fort" Not " I hope Sam sucks so bad we can start PJ and have another lost season with no idea who our true QB will be"

You can be a fan of a backup and not make statements that are completely based outside of our current reality.

All of those guys are free agents for a reason, they suck. If we wanted to recreate their OL it would not be hard and we would be giving up 6 sacks + every week.

The Jags were the worst team in the NFL last season, they would man handle the XFL all star team. Gardner Minshew is leagues better than anything the XFL had to offer. These are facts that need to be realized before spouting off at the mouth.

How many of those guys are starting in the NFL? Yea....no they did not. XFL guys are the guys that are getting cut when the roster is trimmed from 90 to 53. Those NFL castoffs made up the XFL.

The dinking and dunking is fine to an extent but the D has to have fear of the deep ball or this will turn into Teddy 2.0. Too much of that without taking shots or even being unable to take those shots like Cam was late in his time here because of the injury and the dink and dunk will be smothered.

People need to realize PJ is not starting NFL QB material. Those guys he was beating up on in the XFL are not even good enough to sit on an NFL bench or play ST.
