  1. CJ must be a hacker, because ain't no way anybody but himself would believe that poo.
  2. Again, just speculation on my part here, Verge... but, I was saying this under the guise of us giving him 2, maybe 3 years max. I think his decision with us is going to hinge on if he's willing to accept that here. It's likely NO or NYJ would give him 5 years.
  3. But he did under Turner, but his shoulder had already been damaged to the point of no return by then. I didnt forget anything, brother... hr may not have always been consistent, but the dude came in the league throwing for 400 yards a game lol. I'd be interested in the metrics you're using that made him a bottom third passer in the league.l, because sure, he might not have been completing 73% of his passes, and his QB rating might've been slightly above average, but the sheer threat of being bale to sling it 80 yards at the flick of a wrist or getting pummeled to death with QB-designed runs made him the greatest weapon we had ever seen, regardless of what common metrics QBs are measured by. Cam defied that. And had the league not resorted to injuring him as the only way to stop him, it would've been awesome to see how he evolved as a passer.
  4. Honestly, I really feel his comp is Josh Allen. People keep saying Cam, but Cam was 1 of 1. There will likely never be another Cam. I compared Cam in football to MJ in basketball, because we just hadn't seen a player that was a legit force of nature that happened to also play QB in professional football. He could not be stopped if his passing was on, and he touched the ball every snap, and he also just happened to be the most automatic short yardage back the game has ever seen lol. That's not happening again... and I saw that happening from college. But, I've always said, Allen is like Cam-lite. Not nearly the threat as a dynamic weapon in the running game, but a damn good one. That's what set Cam apart - he was elite at both passing and running. When he was on, he was one of the most electric passers with a rocket arm the game has ever seen, and then he ran like a bruising RB when he was a runner. I expect AR to become a similar passer to Allen while being a bigger threat as a runner, but again, nowhere near what Cam was... no one will come close to that again probably in our lifetime as a QB, not in that style. But that's why I would love this pick. A Josh Allen-type passer with ridiculous athleticism that can stress a defense every play with his legs as well as his arm? I have been feeling for awhile that AR is the guy I want us to take.
  5. Also saw a blurb on my Google homepage that said the Cardinals were one of the worst and even charged their players for eating at the facility. Yet they lured guys like JJ Watt there in recent years, so I also don't know how much it really means.
  6. This, and just the general excitement I'm feeling with this revamped staff and FO, is exactly what this thread was borne from. In particular, what led me to make it was that exact statement you're referring to that Fitt made about if we trade up, we'll do so knowing that we won't be picking that high again. That was probably the biggest takeaway statement I heard all day yesterday... and iirc, he kind of tailed off after that and said something like, "it would be like pick 22," or something like that. Another big takeaway I got from yesterday's media appearances was Fitt again describing what Sulaiman does. And I can't remember if that was yesterday, but he or Reich also recently made allusions to Sulaiman being able to "make it happen." That reminded me of how all those years during the Payton/Brees era in NO how the entire board would counter every big move they made with, "well, they can't so it forever. They're just kicking the can down the road and eventually it's gonna bite them in the ass." Problem is, during their tenure, that time never came. The chickens never came home to roost, and they were always able to pull of moves and signings that we just didn't think was possible. I think Sulaiman is in that same mold as Loomis with his cap expertise. We are now that team that can kick the can and never have it catch up or hinder us from the big moves. I think those two things stood out to me most from yesterday, and it really leads me to believe Carr and one of the top rookie QBs together on this roster is a very real possibility.
  7. And then completelt negating the purpose of this thread, I also could see a scenario where if they like Hooker enough, they could sign Carr and take Hooker in the 2nd or 3rd. My hope is AR or Stroud, although I like Hooker a lot. You know what? That feeling I had is legit just excitement for the first time in a long time lol Sorry, can't contain it.
  8. I would tend to agree, but I actually got a real "all in" vibe from both Reich and Fitt. And Fitt sounds like if the interviews and such line up with what they expect, we are selling out for our guy. I think the trade comes into play if that guy is Stroud or Young, particularly. If it's AR, we likely won't see any movement until draft day if we need to move up. But Reich really just sounds like he REALLY likes Carr, and I'd imagine it would be hard not to. And to me, both Reich and Fitt sound like they want to get their young guy this year no matter what else happens, but that they also want to cover all of their bases. I also think the idea of having successors in place, just like they did on the staff, factors into the plan.
  9. No sources, nothing like that... and I could very well be WAY off and this thread melts into obscurity like most, BUT I have a feeling that something with trading up may come together rather quickly, and seemingly develop so fast it seems it came out of nowhere - before the draft. I also don't think it's out of the realm of possibilities that we still end up signing Carr even after we trade up and still take the QB of the future with that first pick.
  10. Just listening to Fitt's responses to questions about his working relationship with Reich as the HC and comparing it with what his responses were when asked about the process with Rhule, and it seems crystal clear what a shift the organization has undergone in the last month or so. Fitt did a good job answering the questions about Rhule while he was here, but it was clear it was not a good working relationship and you could sense the tension. He just seems so much more comfortable and free now with that burden lifted off of him and the organization as a whole.
  11. He clearly is aware he's likely moving on... https://www.instagram.com/reel/CpLh5BXO_Tq/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
  12. Thankfully, TMJ started looking tge part as the season wore on. So, I think we got two more years to figure it out, not even accounting for any gems we may find in the draft to add to the WR corps.
  13. I heard Byron Allen was likely to win the bid. Also, fug Bezos and Snyder.
  14. No but they could count one one particularly unimpressive physical specimen to run through it at 100%, for demonstrative purposes.
  15. Not familiar with many of the RB prospects coming out this year outside of the guy from Texas, but this is pretty much my take as well. It's just proven time and time again that you can find a back that produces at a high level in the mid to late rounds and/or even as an UDFA, win and let them play out their rookie deal and then move onto another one. The value is just not there for me to trade for one already in the league and approaching a new contract, regardless of how talented they are. It's really why I wasn't opposed to dealing CMC even before his extension. Incredible talent, but the value just isn't there at the position he plays.
  16. So, Connor Orr of SI made a prediction for the upcoming season for each of the 32 teams and interestingly enough, he days the Colts will likely look to deal Taylor as he is in the final year of his rookie deal so they can get some value back without having to pay him for the next contract, much like we did with CMC. Now, I dont think investing high picks or money into RBs is good business nowadays and in the current NFL, its just dumb unless you're a piece or two away from a championship push. BUT, I think this is worth sharing considering the connection and history of success between Taylor and Reich. FWIW, his prediction for us is that Burns, Brown, and Horn make the Pro Bowl this season. Excerpt: Indianapolis Colts Prediction: They will trade Jonathan Taylor at some point during the 2023 season. This isn’t necessarily a bold take. They’ll have a new offensive philosophy and will need to start long-term planning around a running game that potentially suits a different back. Taylor is hitting free agency next year and, like Christian McCaffrey with the Panthers in 2022, can only do so much for the franchise before it’s senseless to hold onto him without recouping value.
  17. I see the appeal in Stroud ever since the Georgia game, but I have been a lot more comfortable with the idea of staying at 9 or maybe moving up a spot or two if needed for AR, rather than moving up to the top 3. I would prefer taking AR and keeping all of our other picks to build out the rest of the roster, and with the change in defensive system, I feel we'll likely need it. I also feel with the coaching staff Reich has assembled, they likely can turn any of the rookies into the absolute best version of themselves, and AR has the most natural gifts and physical ability, so sky would be the limit. And I've felt this way before McShay's take... As I've been saying, I wouldn't be mad at a move up for Stroud, but I would be 100% happy and content with staying put or relatively close to 9 and taking AR.
  18. I really like DJ, but this mock ain't it. He is one of the most knowledgeable and informed analysts out there, especially when it comes to us. He's always been fair too. But this makes no sense regardless of FA. We definitely would go Edge/TE/WR if not QB, imo.
  19. I've never watched it but I always daw the commercials for it and this seems 100% accurate to the aesthetic lol.
  20. I dont think it can properly be expressed, but I don't EVER recall an all-star, highly touted staff being assembled of THIS magnitude. Like this is insane.
  21. Booooooi Shoom shoom shoom shoom shoom *player: Someone help.* Also doesn't help that dude looks like he likes to wear other people's skin for a hobby.
