We'd have a much higher hit rate in the draft with that line of thinking. What's the point of hitting on a Megatron if you're the Lions? Great teams are not built with a scratch off ticket.
-
I was convinced it was happening last year until he blew up his hammy.

They say you can't teach size and speed. And that's true. But I also don't think you can teach someone how to play football at the NFL level either. If it was that easy, these guys would be a dime a dozen. The fact is you need NFL level football tools to make it. There's been the odd case here or there. Like Antonio Gates. But he's one of a kind. And the Chargers didn't pick him in the 1st round.
-
He could fetch a 4th or 5th round pick if he's not already IR'd by the trade deadline.
-
Sure but it's mostly boosted by having good players on it. That said, I think it's kind of a wash between these two guys. It makes sense to burn the low durability guy first, rather than to keep him up your sleeve as a last resort. I'd rather have my backup not be coming off of 3 season ending injuries. But if Corbett can keep it together the whole year, then that's great.

You could argue it's smarter to start Corbett on opening day, because Mays will have to relieve him at some point. If you start Mays, and then he gets hurt, Corbett could very well come in and leave on a stretcher the same week in relief. At least if you get Corbett's availability out of the way first, it becomes a known variable. And Mays is rested and ready to finish the campaign.
-
It's just inevitable that Mays will be the starter at some point, because the odds that Corbett goes on IR approach 100% by week 10 or so.

Let's start the over/under of how many games this lasts at 4.5

Media touting tonight as The Shedaur Show

If they cut Joe Flacco let's IR the red rifle and pick him up -
I’d eat it

It's a preseason game, but...losing is not an option.
PNW_PantherMan replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
We won’t win many more games if the defense still can’t stop anyone. Glad the first team offense got a TD though. -
So it turned out that losing wasn’t an option after all. It just didn’t mean what we originally thought.

give some props to Andy Dalton

It’s called being 37 years old -
Milroe looked pretty good tonight

Raiders were overmatched in the trenches the whole first half

Cherelus down. We need to be talking about LBs even more
PNW_PantherMan replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
Look at the bright side. There’s not much difference in this guy vs whoever else doesn’t have a team. Our backup LBs are replacement level roster churn. The upside is they are replaceable. -
Ashton Jeanty 3 carries for -1 yards. Rough start.

These Seattle uniforms have lived beyond their natural lifespan. Time to dump them imo.

Possible the Browns are looking to trade Shadeur?
PNW_PantherMan replied to Proudiddy's topic in Carolina Panthers
The Browns would have definitely been better off. But probably not the GM that would/will be fired by the time those picks are up for selection. -
Gantt: First depth chart. (Full chart link not working though)
PNW_PantherMan replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
At the end of the day, money spent positionally will not be close to equal. Every team has players that are overpaid and players that are underpaid. It's about results at the end of the day. Do you win or not? -
Wednesday practice tweets (joint practice with the Browns!)
PNW_PantherMan replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
That measures the result of the play, not how difficult the pass was. You can't draw much information from that other than the passer rating was lower when thrown to XL. -
A post so nice, he made it twice.
