    It’s not a contract year if they give him a new contract right away. That’s what some are discussing vs riding out the option year.

    I would definitely pick up the option but I would wait on an extension. The option forces him into a contract year, which is better for the team. Even if he plays lights out and takes a huge step, it’s better to pay more for that guy than to pay a question mark early.

    Would you rather have a productive running back or DJ Johnson? That’s the quality of prospect we are taking about here with the opportunity cost.

    He'll get interviews because of the Rooney rule, but nobody's hiring the DC of the worst defense in the NFL to be their head coach. Not trying to call you out specifically, but this is probably the most delusional take I've seen on this board. I've seen others mention it too. You will have to fire him.

    I don't hold this against Evero. Coaches aren't scouts. If the DC loves a prospect that's projected as a 7th rounder or UDFA, you don't trade up to pick him in the 3rd. That fault lies with the front office for being morons.

    I'd prefer if the game went down to the wire, but that was a well fought game. Penn State had some questionable coaching decisions, but both teams showed up to play.

    People might complain that the games aren’t super close but I’ve been enjoying the new playoffs so far. This is what college football has always been. Haves and have nots.

    Boise isn’t good enough to overcome the talent difference without a defensive TD or something. Penn State looks really beatable in the next round though.
