Also I have to say Mikko is a loser. I’m not a GM, so I don’t know the standard procedure when vetting a trade target. But it’s stupid how he wanted to play hardball with Colorado, but isn’t willing to deal with the consequences of his actions. Colorado had a line to draw on his salary because guys like Nathan mackinnon are the real force behind the Avs success. Mikko isn’t the same player without Nathan. Nathan is fine without Mikko.

We need to move him. The odds that we figure it out and win the cup this year with Mikko aren’t great. The team chemistry is out of whack. Take the best deal on the table and hopefully it produces a more cohesive team than what we have now. And honestly, getting some assets for next year which we won’t have with Mikko (besides cap space)

Unpopular useless opinion incoming: The Panthers should trade Jaycee for the best compensation package they can get. if he could stay consistently healthy, Jaycee would have been a hall of fame corner in the early 2000s. But his skill set is terribly mismatched for today’s NFL. What good is a physical corner if you can barely touch anyone? I say useless opinion because I’m fully expecting some ludicrous contract to be announced in the next few weeks.

He’s obviously got a big motor and a play style that is popular with fans. But all the heart in the world won’t make you an NFL level athlete. That’s my primary concern with him. That regardless of the dog in him, he’s just not an NFL athlete at one of the most athletic positions.
