NIL and the transfer portal brings a new paradigm. Name recognition bears more weight than traditional recruiting chops. This kind of has Charlie Weis to Notre Dame vibes on it for me, but I understand why they're doing it.

They are close to the same spiritual age

Damn why did you have to predict this? I already got 10 bucks on it lol.

Strategy aside it just seems that the freaks are leaving for the NBA before they even fill out. Or they don’t play in college at all. They don’t grow into their bodies until their 5th year in the NBA at 23. I think it’s hurt college basketball as a whole.
-
College basketball also suffers from players leaving after 1 year for the NBA, or skipping it entirely to play overseas or in the G League. I don't know if it's just me, but college basketball athletes are not on the same level as college football athletes on aggregate. That gulf didn't seem so wide 20 years ago. But maybe that's just me.

What would give you that idea? He's already met his soul mate.

I don’t know when he’s coming out but that kid at Notre dame has a vertical jump straight out of the X-men movies
-
Now that would be a fantastic pick.

Cooper Rush is bad. I don’t get it.

The Cowboys have no business winning this game so they probably will.

We're gonna win this game.

Plus he hasn't looked very special in the limited action before he was injured. I was expecting more of a pop when he touched the ball. I'm only half kidding about Jeanty, but I wouldn't hate it if we drafted another running back later in the draft this year.
-
Dan will make this right by drafting Ashton Jeanty with our first rounder.

Personally I think taking long shots on earlier picks makes no sense with a terrible roster. If you have a good foundation, you can justify taking a risk on a boom or bust prospect. But the probability of those players working out makes absolutely zero sense for a roster devoid of players.

He got carried by Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey. That's how it appears.

From top 10 pick to day 3. The Carson Beck story.

There's still time for that to play out. He's not due for an extension this year. He'll get to play next year. We'll have more information after year 3 with more roster improvements, and Canales with a year of experience under his belt etc. If Canales and Morgan are the real deal, they'll make the right decision when that time comes.

I really liked Hurts coming out of college, and I was glad to see him succeed in the NFL. He has a lot of great qualities as a player, but I think he's got a lower ceiling compared to the top end QBs in the NFL.
-
I choose to look at QBR like a PFF grade. It's just a number, and there's probably subjectivity that goes into it. It's usefulness is limited because we just have the number.

Bryce has earned his spot for next year. He will hopefully continue to improve. And personally I think that's great news. The reality is, we aren't drafting a QB in the top 5 this year and free agency will be awful. The fact that he's at minimum a stop gap for us at QB is great news.
