Wilson has been maybe the best QB I've ever seen at avoiding the big hit. His injury last year was a complete fluke. He broke his finger following through on a throw, and it hit a guys helmet or something. There is no way he's taken more punishment than Cam did, who was used like a power back AND took hits in the pocket.

Your solution for the QB situation?
PNW_PantherMan replied to AU-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
That's an interesting word. At this point, he shouldn't have any choice of QB. It should be Sam for better or worse. He made the call to trade future assets for Sam and pay him his 5th year option, without ever seeing him play a down in a Panther uniform. In a vacuum? I'd be ok with a cheap veteran to compete with Sam or trade a half eaten sandwich for Nick Foles or something. -
Lol Harbingers got killed in that thread and he was 100% correct.

How does the Wilson trade, effect the Panthers draft?
PNW_PantherMan replied to Admiral Ackbar's topic in Carolina Panthers
Very true. If I recall the biggest knock on Russ was his size. If he was 6'2 he probably would have gone in the top 10. -
Yeah they don't though. They make awful moves all the time outside of the QB they drafted 10 years ago. They traded Russ because he wants out. If he wanted to play in Seattle, he'd still be on the team. I don't know if Russ will be able to win the big one in Denver, but Seattle is done. I don't know why a few draft choices would save them. They are terrible at drafting.

Honestly I put more of that on the QB than the organization. Rodgers just isn't clutch in the playoffs. No excuses for him at this point. When have the Packers done anything like trading Max Unger for Jimmy Graham or trading for Percy Harvin? The Seahawks have done nothing but sabotage themselves with terrible trades since their SB runs.

Russell Wilson's salary didn't trade 2 1st round picks for Jamal Adams. Among other bone headed moves by the front office. I think people are looking at this backwards. The front office is getting all the credit for the success since Wilson was on the team, but Wilson was the driver of that success. This FO staff will flame out and Pete will end up retiring when they cant' find a QB. I would be willing to bet money on it.

Not surprising. Did you guys see what Kenny Golladay got last year? DJ will get a huge contract from someone.
-
And they have to take Darnold.
-
Not exactly a high bar lol. Both teams are now in QB purgatory/hell.
-
Seahawks are toast. Russ has carried that team for a long time. It's probably time to rebuild, but I wouldn't let any of the current front office do it. They've done a poor job since the 2nd SB appearance.

I guess they decided to pull the trigger when news of Aaron Rodgers broke. Feels like that was probably their initial target, but I'm just speculating.

Ian Thomas Contract Details (also TE market is HOT)

What kind of mental gymnastics is going on here? So by extension, PJ Walker was a good signing because good QBs are in demand. -

The man is still younger than Joe Burrow after all. -

I think option 5 is the best, provided we don't overpay someone for too long. Almost all of the available FA QBs are better than Darnold at least. And option 5 doesn't require us to to give up players or picks. -
With his size and the sort of load he's carried in his career? Please show me a RB that was injured for 2 straight seasons after that kind of load and returned to form for years to come. It's not impossible, but he was run way too hard way too often IMO. Rivera ran him into the ground and Rhule didn't miss a beat.
