A lot of huddlers would rather reach on an edge that would go late 1st or early 2nd in a normal draft class, instead of taking the biggest impact player that falls to 8. Would I normally draft a TE at 8? Of course not. But this isn't a normal situation. The top of this class is not only thin, but relatively weak.

Bryce Contract Extension - Hypothetical

Look mom I posted it again.

Yea the current mix of guys is just not working.
-
He’s good at getting open vs zone, which is what a TE needs to be able to do.

The team is devoid of talent and so is the top of the draft. Take the best chip that falls. It's that simple.

Is it too late to fail Rantanen on a physical like the Lakers? Lol

This team just isn’t right

I Think Ashton Jeanty will be the Pick at #8

Yea that honestly killed it for me. The draft is way too deep at RB. But a good troll thread can be fun. -

PNW_PantherMan replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
After winning the Mountain West Championship, Jeanty finished his post game interview with “I’m a dog and I put that on display every week.” He might as well have said, “Dan Morgan. Draft me brother” -

This conclusion from a scouting report on bleacher report makes basically summarizes the issues I have with Walker at 8. Another low floor project? No thanks.

I’m taking Warren and hitting up dline later in the draft. If those are the choices.

NFL grades on combine participants
PNW_PantherMan replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Seems like the worst draft to have number 1 overall in a while -
I’m with you here. He played at the highest levels of college and shined brilliantly. There’s no better indicator of being NFL ready. Sure it’s not 100%, but that doesn’t exist. Look at it this way. He made people think Drew Allar could play QB.

Who is your way too early mid-round draft crush?
PNW_PantherMan replied to BeenPounding's topic in Carolina Panthers
I never said he shouldn’t be able to prove himself. I just think it’s silly to pass on a pass catching TE when JT Sanders hasn’t proven he’s the next Greg Olsen. I thought JT showed some flashes, but he’s got a long way to go. PFF had him ranked 37/37 TEs. -
I’m not defending Sanders as a prospect. He just doesn’t need to participate in the combine to trick a team into picking him in the top 5. He’s already done that. The potential downside of looking bad at the combine outweighs the positives of being selected 1st instead of 3rd overall

Yea the early part of the season showed some promise, but it’s been terrible for a while now.
