I don’t agree with that but whatever. Hiring Wilks because he has past coaching experience is not smart. If Tepper wants to win in this league today he hires an OC regardless how these games turned out. Including Kefka. I’d take him over Wilks in a heartbeat. I wasn’t discouraged of Kefka because of how the offense played against one of the best defenses in the NFL. Giants were very limited. I look at the entire season and what he did with a very bad offense. Nah, Kafka should still be in the running and saying he shouldn’t because of yesterday is such a knee jerk reaction.

So instead of taking a chance with Kefka we hire a coach from the same tree as McDermott and watch as offensive HC walks all over Wilks. Kafka may not be the answer but neither is Wilks. Defensive HC do not succeed in the modern NFL. This Bills vs Bengals game is proof of that.

Already seeing the FireMcDermott hashtags on twitter. This team has too much talent for this to keep happening year after year. Window is going to close eventually.

Guess I haven’t been as beaten down yet. 9-8. I do not like.

The teams playing are not my teams so I am not obligated to watch the game. If a team goes down by 14 I turn it off and go do something else.

Fastest I’ve ever turned a game off. Why has the playoffs been so bad this year?

Who I trust about as far as I can throw her.

Harbaughs not coming here. He already announced he is going back to Michigan. Plus Panthers have shown little interest in him. His camp contacted the Panthers not the other way around.

Go on record now before the hire is made Re: Sean Payton

Thing is those red lines are usually false and most people never actually follow them. -

If people react that way they need to take a breath. Step away from being a fan and just go do something else. I never cared about who was the coach until Rivera. Honestly I think people, including myself, area bit to involved and care a bit too much about someone like a HC. As long as they win they could be coached by whoever or whatever, imo. -

That's fine. I will continue to be a Panthers fan. I hold no strong feelings for Payton either way.. -

Been a Panthers fan for 25 years. Not gonna change or not be a fan because of a coach. Just sounds petty. -
LoL.

Not gonna argue with someone who brings race into it. Not gonna have a discussion with a person like that. Have a good night.

Reich just feels like an offensive Rivera. That would be such a “blah” hiring. I believe that if Reich or Wilks get hiring it will be 3 year contract with expectation to win immediately. I don’t expect either coach to stick around long unless the have tremendous success.

Plus if the Lions defense was any sort of decent they would have blown us out.

Yeah. Ellis said he didn’t get the impression Kafka was really interested in the job. Sounds like they both were also down on Ken Dorsey. I had to stop while they were talking about them so I haven’t heard the end of it.

He hasn’t proved he is a good coach either. 6-6. Perfectly balanced. Perfectly mediocre. Maybe if he is given the ability to choose his on staff 100 percent, since in Arizona he had most of his staff chosen for him, he will better. All I can do is judge with what I see. He had some good wins and some terrible losses. Also Holcomb becoming our DC permanently makes my stomach hurt and I am not a fan of how Wilks runs defenses. Would make me feel a little bit better if Holcomb wasn’t going to be our DC if Wilks is hired.
-
Maybe. I think Wilks having zero interest outside of us is very telling what the league thinks about his coaching ability.
-
Wilks would likely be on a VERY short leash and would most likely get a 3 year contract and be expected to make the playoffs soon. He would pretty much be a “bridge” HC unless he somehow proved he could be more. Because it is obvious that Wilks is not the HC Tepper wants and if Wilks is hired it is because everything fell through and Wilks is the only option available. Meaning I expect Reich to be hired before Wilks is.

Don’t know if anyone has listened to the newest episode of The Roar with Ellis but, and it was just speculation but Ellis doesn’t really talk to talk, that Kafka doesn't want to come here. I get this feeling whoever we end up as our HC a lot of people are not gonna be happy.

Something tells me they would only waive stuff if it happened in the NFL.
