I think Tepper was happy to get Christensen because he'd sat in the War Room and seen a whole host of OLineman go off the board between where we could have drafted in the 2nd round and where we ended up drafting in the third round. We clearly had high grades on a lot of guys that went in that period.

He rebuilt two College programmes from the ground up. He's not a flash in the pan coach. If anything there's nothing 'outside the box' about our drafting under Rhule - it's the exact opposite. He's emphasizing coachable athletes.

Panthers Confidential - A Look Into the Panthers Offseason
OldhamA replied to DeSim's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is why teams don't normally do this. Fans can never have enough information - they won't stop until the Panthers release their Draft board and all the scouting reports. -

He's honestly what I expected - a dorky numbers guy that made it big. I've known plenty of dorky numbers guys throughout my career - I expect they'd act like him with money / power too. He seems to let Rhule / Fitterer get on with it though. Just wants them to explain themselves, which is fair. -

I bet he was a veto by Rhule. -

Who's captain happy slap? Seems like a bell... -
It makes us look like a College team.

...Hard Knocks. -
So you're saying Cam Newton didn't carry the franchise on his back? This is not the story I hear on the Huddle...
-
This is the same Oline that the Cam fans say wasn't good enough, right? Sorry it's tough to keep up around here.
-
I wonder what QB grade he had on Armanti Edwards...

Was Joe B(rady) even in the room? For a guy with HC aspirations he wasn't in the picture much. -

We sure it was Dyami and not Spencer? Both were on the board. Deablo is the one I couldn't pick up for some reason. -

That piece with him in Miami was pretty jarring though. And short. -

It reiterates what I thought after last year's Draft. This is Rhule's ship, the GM is just helping him pilot it. -

Apologies if this has been asked / answered. Who were Rhule's 4 guys at the Tremble pick? I could make out Brown (I assume Spencer), Browning and of course Tremble. I couldn't make out the 4th guy? -
Or that he realised he couldn't hack it in the NFL anymore. That's a form of closure too.

I'm absolutely down for a open QB competition - with Darnold taking first team snaps until proven otherwise. If you think Walker is going to push him though I think you're in for a rude awakening.
-
Serious Q, does Newton love you as much as you love him or is it unrequited?

Sam Darnold talks about The Adjust To Charlotte And The Panthers
OldhamA replied to KatsAzz's topic in Carolina Panthers
How so? You're comparing a starting QB relocating to a 22 year old college graduate moving to a new city for work. Said college graduate isn't occupying a job that only approx. 40 people on the planet are capable of doing at a high level. They're most likely making the coffee. It's apples and oranges. -

Right, but they're not being asked to be the CEO of a Fortune 500 company. -
By that metric only a handful of players in the league aren't busts.
