You think he's going to play into his forties? For clarification purposes I had the misfortune along with the rest of you of watching a QB built like a greek god physically fall apart by 32. Different circumstances obviously but you can't make assumptions time is undefeated.

When we get the right QB in here I firmly believe DJ is going to be the stud we have hoped for and silence the doubters. But he is not without his faults. He's going to have to be more consistent with his effort and be willing to take things to the next level. He's a laid back easy going guy but sometimes he's a little too chill. I think we could see him break from his shell more with a more vocal and confident starting quarterback.

If someone wants to venture over to a Raiders forum I'd be curious to hear what the average take is on Carr and his time there now that he is officially gone. He has never lacked the talent. But he just had the lowest completion percentage since his rookie year. How much of it was McDaniels? The other layer is he will be 32 in March. So that's what a 5-6 year window maybe? Not every guy is going to be Brady and play well into their 40's. We should just be as realistic as possible about this knowing not only his circumstances but our own in our failures of pursuing other teams castoffs.

I guess I would have to accept it and I would support him. But I just don't like the odds of yet another reclamation acquisition. I mean how many times can we do this? What's the definition of insanity? Right.

Plenty to like with the experienced staff. Now to see if this group can identify the right QB.

I wasn't too impressed with Steichen's play calling

Well you can't keep everybody but we'll find out how they make it work. The NFC is still mostly wide open and when you consider the state of our division we could even be in the thick of things with the right moves. Look at the strides the Giants made with a fairly minimal roster. First things first we need to hit on a QB of our own and we'll be cooking. -

Let him be a simpleton. He thinks because Hurts has a similar game to Cam Newton he's going to be a one hit wonder. As long as the Eagles retain the core of their team they are going to remain a problem in the conference. If we stop being scared and make a move in the draft for our QB we could be competing with them. -

Well you're welcome to feel that way but their coaching has been in another league compared to what we've seen from our team the last few years. The fumble touchdown and big punt return changed the game. -
He is entering his sixth season. For someone who isn't a believer you're doing a lot of arguing on his behalf. That's cool though. Appreciate the dialogue.

Tremble could thrive under this new staff but IMO we definitely should be looking to take a TE early it's time to get serious about the position and no Ian Thomas is not the guy in any capacity.
-
If you want to win in this league and more importantly go to and win in the postseason you have to have a potent passing attack. If we have a QB who can't even do that we don't have a starting QB plain and simple.
-
He's a sixth year starter. If it hasn't happened yet it isn't likely too. He has a 58% career completion percentage. He isn't even accurate for all the physical tools you keep mentioning. There have been a number of other QB's who have had the same tools as Darnold who have not continually received the benefit of the doubt like he for some reason continues to get here. Hey at the end of the day one can choose to be a believer or a skeptic. The numbers and the eye test say he's who he is and who he's going to continue to be as a quarterback from my point of view. Again you have the right to believe what you want. Bur you were also a Kyle Allen believer at one point too so I'll leave it at that.
-
For some losing is acceptable as long as the starting QB doesn't make them uncomfortable.
-
You need strength in the trenches for sure. Of course if you want to actually win a championship it helps a great deal if the referees like you as evidenced by last night.
-
Panthers fans have bitched about every QB. Actually they bitched the loudest about the only MVP in franchise history. What has Darnold accomplished with two teams now? Why does he have such a following? Why so many chances? Other QB's have been long given up on by now. He'll be 30 and his fanclub will still be saying "but wait...this is the year it's all going to click!"
-
McCown is hoping for a head coaching gig. Developing a rookie QB like some other succeasful teams have done seems far more likely than trying to salvage a sixth year bust.

The jimmies get rustled in a hurry when you say something about the bunghole of America.
-
Funny thing is I can respect actual Chiefs fans more than I can the ones here pretending not to be. Like I would have rather seen the Eagles win but I wasn't a damn Philly fan tonight.
-
Historically the two couldn't be more different. Why choose California? Odd comparison.

We talk cold hard trash about people from New Orleans for fun nobody bats an eye. Tell the truth about Missouri thems fightin words. I think some of ya'll have been rooting for the Chiefs too long. Enjoy the Super Bowl win guys.
-
Good to know telling the truth about one of our most backward states is a redline for you. See ya.
-
This is still going? You either want to compete or you want to trade away your best players. Which is it?
-
Then you should know what I'm talking about
-
Oh it's not a stereotype trust me. People from Missouri are poo.
