  1. If you want to guide the discussion then bring some data yourself. When was the last time a top 3 pick at quarterback who was a failure with his first team went on to become a dominant qb after being traded?
  2. Mixed bag for sure. Looks like a rookie. There is promise. But still a rookie. Worth noting he was going up against the Chiefs starting dline. For the most part he kept his composure in some tough circumstances like that first down strike from his own end zone. Considering how little he played in college it's still fairly impressive. It doesn't hurt that his coach is Kyle Shanahan tho.
  3. If they were that set in their ways on it then they have to be right. Hopefully Sam goes off with these new weapons. First in order to accomplish that he needs to be ready and it remains to be seen what difference time off and few ps reps will have on his redemption campaign. None of us can say.
  4. He followed Sam Darnold here from the Jets. Not surprising he is living in a reality with his own alternative facts and has little real understanding of football history. I have suspicions about why some of these odd new characters are so infatuated with Sam while hating on other young quarterbacks but I will withhold for the time being.
  5. If the coaching staff and gm doesn't much care about the oline depth why should fans continue to worry? Sam has weapons and a good oc he needs to produce. Of course he can't do that from the bench though
  6. Fields and Lance look the part but it's only the first preseason game. The quarterback we traded for needs to play eventually and he better look good doing it since he's a fourth year pro
  7. You still believe the 60 million dollar head coach had no power to override the former radio host turned general manager who had already been fired by the team once before?
  8. Hopefully Panthers fans won't make the mistake of defending trash performances like that until the bitter end again but you can never underestimate this fanbase.
  9. We root for a team with seven successful seasons in a quarter of a century. I hardly think a thread like this in August is going to disrupt your ability to follow our team.
  10. I'm going ahead and preparing for some abuse on this Panthers linebacker group especially in the nfc south.
  11. Why are the Bears playing their starters anyway don't they know preseason reps are unnecessary?
  12. He gets credit for guiding the team through some close games but that goodwill will only last for so long. You are what your record says and we were 5-11 and won just a single divisional matchup. Now Rhule and his new gm have made their choices for the roster and they have to live with the result. Nobody will want to hear excuses about the oline because this has been ongoing for years it didn't happen overnight. Even if it's unfair expectations are part of sports there are some fans here who can't handle that but it has been happening with every team everywhere for years. It's a business and results are what matters not speeches not how you handle the media or how good your players look in shorts in overedited clips. Rhule will bask in all the glory of a successful coach if he achieves what he was brought here for and he is already set for life.
  13. Most people with any basic sense said from the get go that Chicago was one of the worst case scenario landing spots for him to actually develop. But it's not at all surprising to see some folks like the most outspoken Teddy Bridgewater excuses spokesman jumping in to dunk on somebody over it.
  14. Complaining about toxicity while personally contributing to it for hours on end
  15. Matt Rhule hasn't experienced even the tip of the iceberg of being attacked as the Panthers coach. I'm truly beginning to wonder if you were even around for the Rivera years. The man is still resoundingly despised by many. Rhule has a handful of detractors that's it.
  16. You're applying the literal definition of fight whereas I am referring to a brotherhood mentality where players will stand up for one another. I was not talking about a practice or scrimmage scrum. In the past Carolina has been indifferent on some in game scenarios where other teams players may feel slighted. Does that mean actual fighting? No. It just means guys who have bought into a group think and are willing to look out for one another and be vocal about it. There is a fine line between being passionate and foolish though. Hopefully the Panthers can limit penalties all around.
  17. Ah this old ruse. Yeah it's obvious nobody has a post here worth your time since you practically setup a cot in the back to shout at anyone who waltzes through with a different viewpoint. Have a good day.
  18. This could make a difference or it could make no difference none of us can know. Do I think it is the end of the world or our season is doomed? Of course not. But on the surface for a team that hasn't been near the top of the division in several years it does give me vibes of the just happy to be here mentality that has held us back. This is a team with one of the youngest rosters in the league and despite our hope and support a young unproven college coach. I hope the fellas ball tf out in September. We'll see.
  19. See one post in and the namecalling is activated. It isn't even noon lol. Yet you jump all over others for what you perceive to be emotional posts and takes. Be the change you seek if you're genuine. If not keep acting like some wannabe high school jock tough guy
  20. It's good this group has some fight in them. That should help the locker room gel. But you still need some leadership so cooler heads prevail and guys don't get tossed from games or suspended. It doesn't take much for a little scrap to escalate and flags start flying and personal fouls handed out.
  21. You've been wailing nonstop at anyone with an opposing view since yesterday afternoon. Maybe a break is good.
  22. Talk about throwing Walker and Grier to the wolves.
  23. You are being snippy about it but nobody forced you into this thread you quoted someone about Fields and initiated an interaction. Fans of different football teams discuss other players their team passed over in the draft all the time Panthers fans included this isn't some new phenomenon. You are going to have to put your big boy pants on and accept not everyone here is going to be a drone and repeating the same take.
  24. Fields isn't a fourth year pro. As of now most are less concerned about Sam and more about the line in front of him.
