If our rookie linemen aren't ready maybe we should have pursued better fa options than two overpaid speed bumps

Here are your OL Free Agents after this season

Center above everything. If we moved on from Erving it would cost us over 5 million in dead cap and if we move on from both him and Elflein next year it would be ten million in dead cap. Odds are they aren't going anywhere. Bad signings. -
An entire draft to defense and both first rounders the last two years to defense and we get gashed for 30+ and get destroyed in the trenches while our oline looks just horrendous. Next year the first second and third goal should be beefing up this oline full of maulers and please let's move on from Paradis. The Broncos knew what was up all along but of course we came sniffing around thinking he would be different

No point even getting worked up about it. If the league did nothing when Denver was trying to turn our quarterbacks brains into mush with headhunting they aren't going to give a poo about getting calls right in our favor. We need to stop wasting drives and this game could have been much closer.

It’s Official….Sam D was worth the trade.

I can give Sam a pass for the turnovers bc this oline is booty cheeks but he's gotta start connecting on those deep passes the excuses are only going to get him so far. -

These threads before the game is even halfway over with rarely end well for the Panthers. Should know better by now. -
I can't get mad at Sam when we trotted out an oline barely better than what he had with the Jets. We did this to ourselves.

How much of our run blocking woes are on coaching and scheme?

Oline oline oline oline oline oline oline.
-
Welp time to dial up a good drive and stop acting like we're playing the Jets or Texans.
-
I don't really mind trying for the kick there you have to know what he can do but we really need to stop waving the white flag on some of these drives can't keep wasting opportunities.
-
Same. Not a playcall that is going to keep you in games against premier teams that can score at will.

Ladies and gentlemen..Ian Thomas.

Cam Erving looked like Byron Bell.

7 winning seasons in a quarter century my guy welcome to the roller coaster. We still have weapons no reason we can't stay in this and be competitive at minimum tho.
-
Well that's a real oline right there.

First round obviously isn't the only way to invest other teams have had success in identifying oline talent in other rounds but Carolina can't really say the same at least not in the last several years. Who are the best that stick out? Turner and Moton? Maybe Daryl Williams for a time? In ten years that's it? Oof. Fitterer and Rhule are the right pair to change that hopefully. -

Christian McCaffrey missed the majority of the season. He has made a living making something out of nothing. Mike Davis may not be anything special but he did a decent job getting us some tough yards last year. As far as this season I'm going to chalk some of that up to playcalling. The middle of our line is swiss cheese let's just be honest. But I have seen playcall after playcall for a run up the middle and even McCaffrey struggle to even get past the line of scrimmage. Some of our run game struggles this year is on both execution and putting our players in better positions. Short yardage situations have been brutal. Guys like CMC and Chuba do better out in space. I think Hubbard can be the back we need against Dallas but we have to use him right and also involve Royce and let him do what he does best. -
Former Saints / Temple player accuses Matt Rhule of lying to him

He's made over 50 million dollars through his career and he was undrafted. That is rare in the NFL to begin with. This is just sour grapes. -

The thread is about run blocking. If you wanted to compare all phases why not just say so? That was the same year McCaffrey put up 1k/1k. Pass blocking has been an issue going back years Cam Newton had to work around that and he made some truly awful linemen look partially serviceable . Good quarterbacks can make that happen for you but unfortunately Kyle Allen was not that for us despite the win streak. Right now Sam Darnold is doing that for us but it will only continue to work for so long if the run game can't get going. Even with CMC in we wasted several good drives along the way Sam himself acknowledged we've left points on the board. This line will make or break our season you can move the goal posts all you want but reality is reality.
