  1. He openly admitted he did not bother to change anything about how he prepared when he was competing with Baker Mayfield in camp last year. After the team that drafted him moved on and he had a very putrid season in 2021. Does that sound like a QB who is destined for and wants greatness? He's a nice guy and a good teammate. Based on that I'd say it's a safe bet he's mostly content with just playing QB as long as the ride lasts and taking what he can get. You guys that want to stick up for him are cute but I just give you sideye because he's literally a lesser Jameis Winston.
  2. So does Jameis. Doesn't mean we need to sign either. And Darnold has already told you guys the deal you don't listen. QB is just a job to him. He is not concerned about going to the hall of fame or being a Super Bowl winning quarterback. You can hype his physical tools all you want. Doesn't mean anything if he doesn’t want to be great.
  3. Because of his position on Lamar? I'm not in favor of trying to acquire him either but this is an overreaction man. Besides there have been worse and more insufferable positions taken by posters here like those who dickride Darnold or wanted us to break the bank for Carr.
  4. Man things have gone downhill since he popped off to Jonathan Stewart like he was a future hall of famer. He'll be 30 in May. He better stop acting like a big shot and get off social media and onto the field to work on his craft or that contract money he got from us (robbery) will get burned through quick.
  5. Selecting him without giving up future picks is one thing. Trading up from nine to take a QB who is shorter and lighter than Matt Corral is a very risky move for a GM who needs a legit QB now.
  6. The QB market is so wild right now Geno Smith just got 105 million. And still there are people scared of trading up for our own guy
  7. We are not going to lose enough games to get the first overall pick we can't even get into the top 3. We've had our chances the last 3 years either this year or next we are going to have to make a bold move. And hyping next years class is just more of the same. When next year rolls around the hype will start to slow like always then the usual people will get cold feet again. The front office can't operate that way.
  8. Right that's why Fitterer/Reich better backup the "aggressive" talk and not get left in the wind. Hopefully they aren't anything like some of the wallet pinchers here or we're in trouble.
  9. Two first round picks and a likely fully guaranteed 200 million dollar contract? He's good but he's not going to dig the Falcons out of that hole with that much tied up in acquiring him. Let them try
  10. Saying he was wrong is not being an ass it's stating the situation. If you can't handle that it's on you. Maybe he'll come back and be right from here on who knows. You're taking it personally like you know who they are. Peculiar. And you've been an ass about things here before like anyone else that's always been how the huddle operates.
  11. If any Panthers fan actually wanted to give this guy 100m guaranteed they are welcome to see themselves out. See how Wilson and Watson have played since their new mega deals with their new teams if you need further validation of why this would have been a likely disastrous contract.
  12. That's a big stretch. People lie about having inside information here and all over Twitter it's very common. Doesn't make them stupid just makes them trolls.
  13. He's talented but turns the ball over and also has the most number of career fumbles of any current starter. As long as we secure our own QB in this draft we'll be fine.
  14. 100m guaranteed is confirmed? That's peak insanity.
  15. Who is calling them names or attacking them personally? Settle down lol.
  16. So far the leaky faucet dude is sitting on a big 0-1 with his claims we were keen on signing Carr. There's no need to cape for wrong and possibly illegitimate sources.
  17. 50 million guaranteed to that turnover machine? Easy to see why we passed lol.
  18. Great news. @poundawayMust be in shambles though. Probably buying a Carr Saints jersey rn
  19. Jones is obviously not worth 45 million a year but he's further ahead than anything Darnold has done the last few seasons. People are scared of a trade up and it's understandable but if we take Stroud I trust this staff to develop him. And furthermore as a person he seems like someone who will strive to improve if anyone wants to know about his character the info is there. There's a reason guys like Sam Darnold who have all the physical tools never take the next step. To him it's just a job. He's said as much. This past offseason he told everyone that quite clearly when he said competing with Baker didn't make him change how he prepared after losing his gig with the team who drafted him. That kind of mentality is why many first round QB's bust. If the staff trusts the guy they are targeting will put in the work after seeing his abilities then make the move.
  20. You're a Sam Darnold believer. Please take several seats and let Fitterer do his thing.
