So then, we’ve got a WR corps to build. What do y’all got?
frankw replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
Draft. Alright so I'm cooling down a little bit looking at the overall compensation and getting a feel for what the front office is going with. Clearly they didn't want to have both Moore's contract and Burns looming deal on the books while they try to build around the #1 pick QB. I can see the reasoning. But man we better be coming out of this draft with minimum one stud WR and one of the best TE's or it's going to feel underwhelming even with the top pick. -
DJ Moore traded as part of trade to Bears!

People are crapping on Moore but TMJ has done basically nothing. He's got as much to prove as any rookie WR we will surely draft now. -
Thats what I'm saying. And DJ Moore was already 4th in the teams all time receiving list. Like okay downplay the guy but you need to replace him with not just one stud but two! https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/car/career-receiving.htm

Man I can't wait to bump these posts. He may not end up being elite but he will eat. And we need one of the drafts top receivers now. Oh and we kinda need a real TE we haven't had one in years now we need that and a #1.

He must have really soured himself with the front office after that tiff with Wilks. Get Stroud and do whatever it takes to draft one of the top receivers. Man I do not want to see this team go right back to wondering what we could be if we had a better receiving core. -
Ask the Titans how trading their best wide receiver is going. Just saying. You still gotta replace that man.

So... Common Sense Says We're Drafting Stroud... Right????
frankw replied to tukafan21's topic in Carolina Panthers
We better be. If we gave up a 1st and traded our best wide receiver to draft a QB smaller than Matt Corral... oooooof. -
We traded Moore? Damn. This is very bittersweet. Thrilled with this but damn. I hope he doesn't go on to thrive. That's going to sting.

Sam Darnold cannot hold Matt Moore's jock. I'd even argue Kyle Allen looked better than him albeit brief.
-
Let me help you. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/D/DarnSa00.htm He couldn't beat out Mayfield in camp and he had the lowest completion percentage since his rookie year. Some of you just can't help but make excuses for the worst QB's in our history

Ryan Poles trying to drive up the cost of the #1 pick
frankw replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
He long contended the Darnold trade was a good one. He was also a Rhule fan who blasted the team when we fired him. In short if the team is doing the opposite of what he wants consider that a good thing. -
Later in the year we're gonna get a thread about this after every Niners game. Just buy his jersey ya'll.

He's the same flawed quarterback he was five years ago with the Jets. He has not developed. You guys want to blame Adam Gase Matt Rhule and whatever other boogeyman you can find when it's ultimately up to Sam to change his habits. Look no further than his last start. Worse than any we've seen with even Jimmy Clausen. You're telling me that guy has been giving it his all to improve and wants to be a hall of famer and win Super Bowls? He had 19 million reasons and many more to get out there and put Baker Mayfield in the rear view in camp and by his own words he could not be bothered. Keep playing the blame game like you owe him something though.

The jimmies will be rustled. That does sound like someone else we know.

If he's the pick I'd roll with it. He has been the most hated out of the QB's here and we know the huddles track record with that so who knows what could happen.

Some of those injuries are probably just plain bad luck. Then there are some players who are just different and have a rare mentality like 89. If we hadn't drafted Matt Corral and seen that hope kicked off a bridge like Ron Burgundy's dog I would probably be more inclined to be hopeful for Bryce. But as it is I would still find reason to be positive if he were the pick due to our coaching staff. We'll see 🫡
