  1. Morgan was not his glorified secretary he was the assistant GM. He also kept the draft scouts basically entirely intact. If he were steadfast against some of the things Fitterer was doing in relation to the draft in particular he would have cleaned house from the go. If you want to take the glass half full perspective on it that's perfectly fine but let's not bs one another on this if one of our rivals fired their worst GM in franchise history just to turn around and replace him with his right hand man you'd be cracking jokes. The reason Morgan gets the benefit of the doubt is former Panther status. That's fine but it doesn't change what he was part of these last few years. Nothing wrong with acknowledging that.
  2. Morgan and Fitterer were best friends. Any assumption that they were remotely at odds over Bryce Young is only one that can be made out of copium at this point.
  3. I agree he's young enough and he has the prerequisite traits and talent you need to try to shape a franchise QB out of him. The issue is I'm just not sold this is the place to fix him. Until proven otherwise I'm not seeing Canales as the QB whisperer of sorts that he was billed as when we hired him. He had input along with Morgan on this QB room in the offseason. They chose to back themselves into this corner. And we currently sit 29th in the league in passing yards per game and 28th in points per game. For comparison sake: 2023: Passing yards per game - 161.2 Points per game - 13.9 2024: Passing yards per game - 170.7 Points per game - 16.7 For all the talk about how bad Reich and his staff were that's really not encouraging. To have invested what we did in the offensive line in one offseason we really need to see better results than this through the remainder of the season under Canales.
  4. It's obvious to anyone with eyes who isn't engaging in self deception for whatever reason. I don't think Fields is a good idea though. There will be other options. Sign one of the younger veterans and draft a QB to let him sit. We aren't going to be competing for some time anyways it's all about development and trending upward while we rebuild.
  5. Imagine what they'd look like with a real QB.
  6. They gave up 434 yards of offense 26 points and an L last night to a very up and down Eagles team.
  7. What specifically is there to tamper with if he is not under contract with any team and hasn't played in now three years? And the last team he was under contract with was us. All of this is silly. Either the team wants him around or they don't. The onus shouldn't just be on him. Particularly considering he is not the one who turned his back. Ultimately it reads like the powers that be don't want to be publicly reminded of how hilariously awful they have been at piecing together any remote semblance of success since they released him. The Panthers front office don't pay anyone's bills here. We can acknowledge what's what.
  8. Cam being a part of the sports talk media world now does have some level of impact on the situation. But that can't be used as an excuse. There's been an unspoken uneasiness since that offseason that led up to us releasing him. Regardless. You need to honor his legacy. I remember hearing about this photo situation a long time ago. Whether officially retired or not if they really don't have any photos of him in the stadium that's pathetic. No excuse for that. And I think that to a degree Tepper does not respond well to Cam's personality as a whole. This can be confirmed by how we mishandled that entire fiasco when he was released. And it is because of that IMO that Tepper sought the more quiet keep your head down type of QB in Bryce Young instead of CJ Stroud who is outwardly confident. How'd that work out for us?
  9. I totally get the sentiment. It's been blatantly obvious for years now. But if we could actually do something about it in some parallel universe where that's possible then while we were at it the Tepper's would be forced to sell and we would not be stuck with Bryce Young. Unfortunately there's no magic wand for life. It'd be nice though.
  10. Joe Person isn't exactly going out on a limb with this speculation. It really doesn't even matter anyways. We're relegated to picking between the equivalent of one of two turds thanks to the decision makers. Just play one of them and let it ride.
  11. On his part it seems like such an obvious win/win optics move. But at this point in time after all the public discussion about it even from some of his own players it's pretty clear he just doesn't care and won't be swayed.
  12. Teddy Bridgewater and Bryce Young owe you some backpay for the amount of keystrokes you've invested in shielding them from criticism. Truly committed.
  13. Dig into his career numbers. In his early days with the Jets his yards per pass attempt was 6.9 With Seattle his YPA is 7.4 He's always been pushing the ball downfield. What changed more than anything with him is he improved his accuracy and decision making.
  14. Miller played the most minutes only 8 points. Had an off night to say the least. Still the rest of the roster is jag city sadly. Going to need a few more years before we're ready to do much of anything.
  15. Who the hell is Franz Wagner? I'm legitimately bitter the Magic are better than us and those fugs were gifted the first pick.
  16. Looks like the boys are waiting until the second half like usual.
  17. I remember a brief blurb about this and he's been playing ever since so it's flown under the radar. But major kudos to this man. Need more like him on our team.
  18. Of course. He's gone from the previous season looking like a top 10 WR to now barely an afterthought. I can't blame him. Still he sure looked to be enjoying himself when he and his boys were blowing us out in Chicago. So I hope they keep playing Caleb and go full tilt shitshow.
  19. Man took a lot of heat and poo emojis and ended up being completely right. Such is the internet eh?
  20. For all the concerns I have with Bryce Young about his abilities as a passer at least he's not a bad teammate or a drama queen. I'll give him credit there. But from the standpoint of a Panthers fan who watched Bears fans all across social media gleefully talk cold hard poo and rub our noses in it just earlier this year all I can say is.... BEAUTIFUL.
  21. CJ Stroud in his second year and rookie Jayden Daniels are both chillin right there in the thick of that list. You might need to see an optometrist my guy.
  22. We had the worst passing offense in the league last year forcing the ball to AT for him to reach 1k yards. You make it sound like Bryce is middle of the pack in passing yards which almost everyone here would be fine with. But in reality he is at the very bottom. I mean the very bottom.
  23. It's right there for anyone to see. The fact that some people are throwing out accusations and insinuating bias because others are rightly pointing out this is not remotely sustainable and we need better is.....interesting to say the least. But that's where we are.
