  1. I watched that game and that injury was horrible to watch. But I seem to remember that there was controversy before that game because Shanahan didn't want to play him and was told that he had to play him or am I having one of those false memory moments where I'm confusing different memories and mixing them together?
  2. I'm more than happy rolling with Darnold at the moment anyway regardless of what the Texans want. I like what I've seen from him so far. He seems to have a great attitude and work ethic. He appears to be working on not just his game but his role. I love hearing that he took responsibility for an offsides and ran the lap and I saw a photo where he and the whole line ran one together. That's leadership and character on display and it fits what has been said about him from ex-teammates and coaches. He's also off to a good start at camp and making some nice throws. I will enjoy seeing him revive his career and grow into a great QB as these other young Panthers grow into a great team. Things with the team look and feel pretty positive right now so no reason to mess things up by bringing in a negative situation.
  3. I personally can't imagine the Panthers giving up very much if anything at all to obtain Watson at this point. I am very suspicious of this "league source". Isd it the same guy that said Tepper would trade away the house and farm before the draft? Because I still haven't seen THAT Tepper yet. The one I've seen stays out of football decisions.
  4. Dude, you can see him launch himself at him as he was falling and drives his shoulder into his head and everyone around immediately stops and looks down and the coach charges at him screaming and throwing his hand at him. They aren't watching it on TV they are playing and it takes a second before anyone realizes what has happened but they all respond quickly. Especially the coach. He should be gone.
  5. How can you say they did not address the QB and OL positions when our number 1 QB is new and most of the OL is new as well? What you really should say is that they didn't address them the way that you think they should have. It's not the same thing.
  6. I agree. It may even be possible that he just doesn't want to play for the Jets. He knows what they have just done to the last QB they drafted by trading him after only 3 seasons. He may decide that it's a better career move to sit out a season and sign somewhere else.
  7. "Darnold playing better wouldn't be surprising either as most predict he will." That depends on which metric you are using. If you are using people's general opinions then you are correct. If you are using history then it would be correct to consider it a surprise as historically QBs that are considered failures after their first stint at the position do not succeed when they change teams. His success here would make him an exception to the norm which would be considered a surprise.
  8. I'm really big on our coaching staff and organization as a whole and I think we have many talented people working within the whole system but the more I see of the under the media DC Snow, the more I'm starting to think he may be my Fav. He comes across as this Defensive Scientist that knows all the formulas and will create whatever you want depending on the materials you give him. He doesn't seem like one of those ego guys dreaming of becoming HC. Just one of those Gurus who loves the Xs and Os of building a defense to make winning games possible.
  9. Yes but I think he will get a little longer leash due to his age. I really do believe that they see him much like a rookie they just drafted except that he has NFL experience but has never been properly coached. They basically said as much in the documentary and Rhule repeated something similar during a recent interview. Show progress from our coaching. I've added that he also has to show the Mojo or Swagger as many say because in the end wins are the bottom line. I personally believe he has the Mojo and with this team he is going to become the Franchise QB everyone thought he was. I've seen enough special plays from him to envision he becoming that guy with this organization.
  10. He just has to win games- and demonstrate that he can win more. This is why Teddy is gone. He didn't win games and the staff didn't believe that he had the Mojo to win games. If Sam shows he has the Mojo then he's gonna be here for awhile.
  11. Dude, he's listed at 250 before. He said he was bigger. He looked closer to 260 to me but perhaps he's 255 but he definitely isn't 240 as he's not smaller than last season.
  12. Burns said he was bigger this season in the presser. He didn't specify but yeah, I'd say he was closer to 260 now.
  13. No, the fans are just fine and have expressed how happy they are with this video and how much they enjoyed it and how much they love how we did things and how excited they are about this franchise moving forward. The idiots and trolls are the ones that won't stop until the Panthers release their draft board and all the scouting reports. But I have aggressively started my own personal Huddle cancel culture. People can say whatever they want and people that enjoy arguing over nonsense can feel free to have fun but that's not why I'm here. The great thing about the of season is it gives you an opportunity to identify posters and choose their validity to your experience. I was hesitant at first but now I have fully embraced my personal reason for being here. It started with the negative Nancies. The ones that just wait for anything positive and must respond with something negative. Not enjoyable to me. Ignored. Now it's the Fields' fanboys. Not the people who like Fields but the ones that can't get over the fact that our organization didn't and can't get over themselves long enough to not spew their anger at every opportunity they get. Ignored. My overall experience here just improves daily. I like legitimate discussions but I don't like arguments that play like broken records. Trolls only exist if you can see them. If not then they are only a figment of your imagination. Much like our interest in Fields.
  14. I think the black helmets are beautiful but you don't want to wear them in the Carolina heat. Also, we don't wear our black unis until later in the season at home for that very reason. So, I would love to see white helmets. I think they would look way better than the silver which I have always thought took away from our unis in every combination. White helmet with black panther highlighted with our blue is what I would choose.
  15. I just love how the same people will say how great we were looking before Cam got hurt and give Cam a pass but they won't give Ron the same pass. I like Ron the person, he's a great guy. I think he's a good but not great coach. He can win, as he has demonstrated, if he has the right situation. I don't believe he ever had that in Carolina. I don't feel he ever got to do it "his" way. Most everyone here will say how bad Hurney was, well Ron had Hurney here for most of his time here. The other part was with Gman and we all can see how that's working out at NYG. He said our team got old fast and that's true but how bad were our drafts? During most of his tenure our drafts were bad. Yes, he had Cam. But let's be honest. Outside of Carolina Cam isn't considered and has not been considered a very good QB for most of his career. You can match his good seasons to Ron's. When Cam was bad, Ron didn't win. When Cam was good, Ron won. If Cam had been good every season would Ron have won every season? It's possible. Ron won the lowly NFC East with a great defense and a horrible offense last season and went to the playoffs. It appears he has more say at WFT than he did at Carolina. Before we completely judge Ron Rivera the coach, let's see how the WFT thing plays out. We shouldn't judge him 100% based solely on his time at Carolina because honestly, there were many problems around here during his time here. I'm not certain he was the biggest of those problems but only time will tell.
  16. That's not true. it's been reported that he was offered a contact by Denver. John Elway: Colin Kaepernick 'Had His Chance to Be Here,' Was Offered Contract | Bleacher Report | Latest News, Videos and Highlights " Denver Broncos general manager John Elway said Thursday that free-agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick had an opportunity to sign with the team. According to NFL Network's James Palmer, Elway said, "Colin had his chance to be here. We offered him a contract." In 2016, Elway told reporters that the Broncos had made an offer to Kaepernick. According to CSN Bay Area's Mindi Bach, the contract would have paid Kaepernick $7 million per season over two seasons." He also had chances with both Baltimore and Seattle. "The Baltimore Ravens held talks with Kaepernick last year, and the Seattle Seahawks scheduled a workout with him in April, but it was postponed."
  17. Let's put this into a reasonable perspective, dividing our schedule into tiers and giving a modest win loss ratio to each tier. Divisional games: Atlanta New Orleans Tampa Bay Yes TB won the SB but they didn't dominate the regular season. I believe they made the playoffs as the 6th seed and just got hot at the end. They are older than the Appalachians I they are beatable. The Saints lost Brees but they also lost some other key players that I don't think they replaced in the draft. Definitely beatable. Atlanta is a bit of an unknow. New coach and system so we'll have to see there. Offense is good but Julio is down but they added Pitts. Defense should still be bad but they drafted pretty well I think. They are still beatable too. I think a modest guess would be a split. We could go under .500 but that would probably mean we aren't playing well. I think above .500 is more likely but let's just go with .500 for now. 3-3 Tier 1 Buffalo That's a good team. Definitely a Super Bowl contender. On any given Sunday anything can happen but a modest guess would be a loss. 0-1 Tier 2 Arizona Dallas Miami Minnesota New England Washington In my opinion, only Arizona and Miami have play off potential but either Dallas or WFT could make it because they are in the East. The Vikings aren't really that good, Dallas is always over rated and I expect the same this season. New England is a bit of an unknown and the Pats are well coached but not sure how much better they will be this season. Arizona didn't impress me with their off season and Miami will have to win with Tua now and I'm not sure they can. WFT has a great D and think they improved in the off season. Each of these teams are beatable for sure but lets stay modest though I expect better. 3-3 Tier 3 Houston NY Giants NY Jets Philadelphia These teams are really bad. Two of them should battle for the 1st pick in 2022. I would really expect us to win all of these games but on any given Sunday, you know? Let's stay modest. 3-1 If we look at out schedule modestly, I'd say 9-8 is a reasonable expectation if we play average football this season. If any element of our team shows real improvement, then a double digit win season is definitely possible and with that a Wild Card spot. Let's just say we we pick up an extra win in the division and tiers 2 and 3, then we are looking at a 12-5 record. That's not unreasonable. I would say somewhere between 8-9 and 12-5 will likely be our range. However, because our schedule is weakest at the start of the season, it should give us the opportunity to build some momentum and confidence as we get into the more difficult part of the schedule. Hopefully, that will help us out when we have to face those Tier 2 teams and our divisional rivals helping get those extra wins to put us into double digit territory. Adding that into the equation I'm going to predict we finish at 11-6 and make the playoffs.
  18. At this point, for players like him it's better to wait for teams who have injuries to come calling as players can usually get more money at that point.
  19. Yes, I think the same. it's looking like the harder part of our schedule should be at the back end which will hopefully give us time to get hot, build our confidence and see some rooks start to find their grooves. That happens sometimes with young teams and I could see that happening with us this season.
  20. I'd much prefer to and I expect to hear something more like I'm not playing to beat the Jets but to win for the Panthers. I have to prove myself to them and not the Jets.
  21. 3-1 at least. We should be much better than both the Jets and Texans. Winston should be the Saints QB and if he has a good game he's capable of putting up points, will depend on the Ints and if we can stop the run somewhat or force them to pass by taking an early lead. Their defense shouldn't be as good as it usually is. I'd say it's a 50/50 game. Dallas, as usual, will be overrated. Their defense is really bad and they din't do anything to fix it that I can see. Dak is back but last season when he played their offense wasn't much better than is was when he was out and now he has his big payday. I'd say that game is in our favor 75/25. I wouldn't be surprised if we weren't 4-0 tbh.
