  1. He would've played like a 5th rounder here with our coaches. Success there doesn't mean there would have been success here.
  2. I agree however, it would suck if its 2021 draft all over again... picking high enough to select a QB, but not high enough to select the QB we (our staff) wants. Ultimately after Bryce and CJ, I think any of those guys can have a spencer rattler type dropoff/regression. But I get the logic in it 100%. Just looking at all possible outcomes ya know.
  3. Don't think it works like that. And Rhule is a guy that would likely prefer to be terminated rather than not being able to continue running his system/the show. Either Rhule's show or no show. I doubt he'll leave here and not get any other opportunities. Even Joe Brady is still getting interest from NFL teams (not sure for what positions though). Have to thing colleges would be interested as well. Regardless I am part of the Fire Rhule train. And regardless I think we are doomed for another rebuild year after this years regression. A new HC and OC would have things looking up though
  4. In terms of the running the ball, he had to do a lot on his own this year. 11 rushing TD's. He's a lot like the guy people love riding here, Sam Howell in terms losing guys this year. Corral had to play without 2 of his top WR's and both his top TE's (injuries rather than Howells losing skill players to draft). No excuses IMO though. Just like should be no excuse for injuries... next man up. On a well coached team that is. Biggest thing he improved on was decision making
  5. I think that is an area of growth for QB's... to learn to put the heart aside and slide rather than take the big hits fighting for yards every play.

  7. Not the best article, but I think the writer is a Panthers fan and he shares what we all feel
  8. Didn't see it, my bad. And i know there is a lot of threads on this and they probably won't stop till Rhule is gone.
  9. https://www.theringer.com/nfl/2021/12/9/22825514/coaching-hot-seat-index-matt-rhule-mike-zimmer-joe-judge Article includes Vic Vangio, Joe Judge, Mike Zimmer, and Matt Nagy as well
  10. MATT RHULE OK, now that I’ve got that out of my system, let’s talk about Rhule, who was so impressive in his 2020 interview that the Panthers canceled a scheduled interview with Josh McDaniels so they could hire the former Baylor coach on the spot. During his time in the college ranks, Rhule built a reputation as a program-builder: He turned Temple from a bottom feeder into a perennial bowl team before cleaning up the mess that Art Briles left behind at Baylor, culminating in a Sugar Bowl appearance in 2020. That was enough to convince Panthers owner David Tepper to sign Rhule, whose lone postseason win as a head coach came in the illustrious Texas Bowl, to a seven-year deal worth $62 million. The hope was that he could build a long-term winner in Carolina. But the Panthers haven’t done a lot of winning under Rhule, and there doesn’t seem to be a long-term plan in place. Rhule’s hiring was supposed to mark the beginning of a massive rebuild. One of his first major moves was to cut Cam Newton, which made sense for a team that was starting over. Newton was making a lot of money, and it had been a few seasons since he looked fully healthy. Yet then Carolina gave Teddy Bridgewater a $63 million deal to replace him. It traded young guard Trai Turner for overpriced veteran tackle Russell Okung, who had publicly contemplated retirement the previous season. Then it went out and signed Robby Anderson to a free-agent deal worth $20 million. These were not the moves of a rebuilding team. Fast-forward to the 2021 season, and the Panthers still don’t seem particularly interested in a reset. They gave up draft capital in a midseason trade for the aging Stephon Gilmore, and then gave Newton $6 million guaranteed to play half a season after Sam Darnold was placed on IR with a shoulder injury. General manager Scott Fitterer characterized the Newton signing as a move that would help the team win now, but that’s not how things have worked out. After two consecutive losses with Newton as the starter, the Panthers are 5-7 with a mere 2.4 percent chance to make the playoffs, per Football Outsiders. Carolina’s chances of landing a top-five pick sit at 6.2 percent, leaving fans with little to root for over the coming month. Newton’s reunion tour might be the only reason to tune in. It’s been nearly 23 months since the Panthers hired Rhule to rebuild the team, and said rebuild has yet to get started. Should they keep him? Carolina fired the wrong coach. While Brady was the scapegoat for Rhule’s ongoing failures, offensive play-calling hasn’t been the issue. The offensive failures fall squarely on Rhule and his handpicked general manager; after all, Brady did not pick the team’s quarterbacks, nor did he put together what might be the worst offensive line in the NFL. I’m not sure there’s a coordinator in the league who can field a productive offense with a leaky front line and a deeply flawed quarterback room. Rhule cited the Panthers’ low run rates as a major point of contention, which should set off alarm bells for anyone who has read even one statistical study of the sport over the last, I don’t know, 20 years? Rhule says he wants the Panthers running 30 to 33 times a game, but that’s hard to do when the team is constantly playing from behind. When filtering out garbage time, Carolina hovered around league average in pass rate last season and is well below the league average this season. If anything, Brady was calling too many runs. Throw in the Panthers’ conservative approach to fourth-down decision-making, and this should be a rather easy decision for an analytically inclined owner like Tepper.
  11. DJ Moore is a production guy. He isn't a WR1 because he doesn't give his all on 100% of his routes. Maybe my eyes deceive me and its just a blame Joe Brady thing. Brian Burns creates good pressure, and has been playing pretty well. He may be playing below where we want because in our eyes he should be doing what hasaan is doing right now. I think he just gets too greedy and bites too much when trying to get the big plays. All of our DTs have been playing poor this year Chinn has played well. I don't have any complaints with him. Robby is questionable. Not sure if he took a step back or if play-calling is hurting him. I never was a big fan of Jermaine Carter. He is a depth piece.
  12. Bailey Zappe in the 4th round. Very intelligence kid with good footwork/mechanics in a very pass-happy offense. He has a chance to set single-season NCAA records in both Touchdowns (Joe Burrow holds with 60) and Pass yds (not sure who holds that record).
  13. Would love to see change in OL Coach, TE Coach and OC. Not sure/on the fence about ST Coach due to the same reasons you pointed out. Great breakdown. Don't think I could've done it better if I was paid to do it.
  14. Think about how well Adam Gase probably sold his case to owners in the past lmao
  15. Not sure who you may have as a late round guy that you'd either love to have or just thinks may have some value to step in now or develop and step in later. I hope to see a lot of OL in our draft and/or free agency haul. But one guy I've had my eye on is Bailey Zappe. Stats and video on why below. Not saying we should draft him, but in a weak QB class he seems to be a nice late round pick (4th round). I would prefer we go OL and take a QB in 2023 but this is a guy to look at if looking at QBs this year.
  16. In a red jersey obviously. But I really hope he isn't being rushed back.
  17. Breaking: Reddick currently leads his position in NFC Pro Bowl voting.
  18. ahhhh memories. Idk which one put me on my ass more. This or 4 loco
  19. First thing my cheap ass saw was $75 a bottle. Still gonna buy at least one. But bet that ima bitch about it.
  20. Exactly the reason why this thread has no mentions of DTs
  21. Defensive ends Haason Reddick and Brian Burns have been a two-men wrecking crew all season. Reddick, through 11 weeks, has collected an NFC-high 10.5 sacks—behind only Cleveland’s Myles Garrett (13.0) and Pittsburgh’s T.J. Watt (12.5) for the league lead. And Burns’ 7.0 quarterback takedowns aren’t that far off. Reddick and Burns are also amongst the best “defeats” artists thus far. Defeats, measured by Football Outsiders, qualify as any of the following: -A tackle that results in a loss of yardage, including sacks. -Any play that results in a turnover, including tipped passes which are then intercepted. -Any tackle or tipped pass that leads to a stop on third or fourth down. And the pair ranks third and fourth in the stat. To cover all of our pass-rushing, backfield-disrupting bases—Reddick heads into Week 12 with 12 tackles for a loss, 16 quarterback hits and 31 total pressures. Burns has recorded 10, 13 and 33, respectively, in those categories. https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2021/11/24/panthers-haason-reddick-brian-burns-defeats/
  22. Robby. Now build an OL so we can have time to let plays develop and let guys get separation and run those double move, big hitter plays.
