Would save maybe $2M at the most, which I'd be okay with. Would have a lot more trust in the vet in pass pro situations.

No brainer to take the option. He's been steadily improving. If he continues to develop, get that second contract figured out and let's move on to the next roster spot!

The amount of players that this rings true for...

I'd rather bring in a one-year vet rental, see how JB's knee heals over the course of the year, and then make a decision on whether or not to draft one in 2026. Then again, if the Panthers are sitting there with a lot of their needs met and there's a high quality talent that inexplicably fell...

This takes me back to an earlier question I asked in-season that I never got a response to (from others): what exactly is the threshold, stat-wise? Bryce didn't average 60% & 200yds passing the last two games, but he was a big reason why the team won one of them and gave them an opportunity to stay in the second one. Bryce was pressured on nearly 70% of his drop backs vs TB but he's expected to put up 300yds... ? Meanwhile, Chuba averaged 6.1ypc vs. Arizona on 25 carries while Bryce was 17/26 for 2 passing TDs, 1 rushing TD, no turnovers, and 68yds rushing for a 107.5 RTG/80.6 QBR... but because he only threw for 158yds in a win we don't toot the horn? The man had three total TDs for crying out loud!

Looks like Arizona State and Clemson belonged more than Oregon did

If you’re wondering how far we have to go
Icege replied to Doc Holiday's topic in Carolina Panthers
Pearsall went #31 when XL went #32. Why in the world are you mad when he wasn't even there to begin with? Was the team supposed to move up to #31 specifically to take Pearsall? Then we'd be hearing how Ladd outperformed Ricky. At some point, you have to ask yourself if you just want to be mad. -
PFF grades from Panthers' Week 17 loss to Buccaneers
Icege replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
This got me wondering and when I went and looked it up he only has 1 sack and 2 TFLs over 13 games (8 starts). However, he's only been blitzed 17 times which aligns with Evero's heavy cover 3 zone usage this season. They relied on Jaycee to shut down 1/3 of the field which is what left us with Mike Jackson and Caleb Farley covering the other teams' WR1s. Wallace definitely has the athleticism to be on the field. We'll have to see how his eyes and instincts develop over the offseason to see if the rookie hype is worth buying into (I think it might be :D). If Evero is retained, I fully expect the office to finally give him some talent to work with so that he can run his scheme instead of having to play simple bend don't break due to a talent deficit. To those other points you made tho... #1 was guys chasing a pay day, #3 isn't true, but #2 + #4 + #5 are definitely fair.- 27 replies

Paul Johnson was a mad scientist that I both loved and hated having to go against as a Clemson fan. The index card in the pocket was so iconic.

Yea but that's fuging Megatron. He was Georgia Tech's ONLY WR while he was busy inventing global sanitation systems. They built that man in a lab.

His story at South Carolina has been talked about a lot. Lost his mother in 2015 to cancer and then his father to a heart attack in 2018 just two months before HS graduation. We can agree that losing both parents going into your freshman year at college is going to cause some issues. 2019 - Freshman year [QB: Hilinski, Joyner, Bentley] 2020 - COVID [QB: Hill, Doty] 2021 - Scooter accident and other injuries [QB: Noland, Brown, Doty] 2022 - Was behind Antwane Wells Jr (who transferred to Ole Miss this season and will be in the upcoming draft) and Jalen Brooks (drafted by Dallas last year). Was also competing with TE Jaheim Bell (transferred to FSU, drafted by Patriots last year) for touches. [QB: Rattler] 2023 - Breakout year as WR1 [QB: Rattler] Also didn't have competent QB play until his last two seasons.

I'm hoping that's what his level up for this offseason will be: his hands. Though I wouldn't say he's gotten phased out either just taking a brief look at his targets... Curious to see if they'll force the ball to him against the Falcons.

tbh this is the duality that is keeping the board active One side believes that Bryce is getting too much credit, another believes that Bryce is getting too much hate, and then there's a side that just wants to know beyond a shadow of a doubt whether or not he's the guy. The back and forth between the first two provides reading material for the latter's bathroom trips.

Yea, but he's also beating his guy on plays where the ball isn't going to him. His route running is so improved from last year at South Carolina that it's got me downright giddy to see what he adds to his toolbelt this offseason.
