  1. Full list of inactives tonight: RB Raheem Blackshear WR Diontae Johnson RB Miles Sanders DE Jadeveon Clowney CB Jaycee Horn QB Bryce Young CB Troy Hill QB Andy Dalton WR Xavier Legette WR Adam Thielen S Jordan Fuller S Nick Scott RB Jonathon Brooks S Xavier Woods RB Chuba Hubbard OLB Amaré Barno S Sam Franklin Jr. LB Josey Jewell LB Cam Gill G Robert Hunt LB Shaq Thompson C Austin Corbett G Nash Jensen G Damien Lewis T Taylor Moton T Ikem Ekwonu TE Ian Thomas TE Tommy Tremble DE LaBryan Ray DE A'Shawn Robinson DE Derrick Brown OLB D.J. Wonnum DT Shy Tuttle It's very difficult to take some of the posts about hiding one player seriously when 32 of their teammates are also inactive. Looks like Canales is going to use this game to evaluate the depth. Wouldn't be surprised to see the starters get a series or two in the next preseason game though.
  2. The Panthers app works if you're in the region. Panthers.com MIGHT show it? Can always do the free 1 week of Fubo and cancel. That was the only way that I could watch the PVF finals. Worst case scenario, I don't mind setting up a throw away Discord server and streaming for folks that can't access it.
  3. TWO MORE HOURS AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH
  4. Lemme check ... From the two pages I read through, maybe? If you've got your region set to a ZIP in the Carolinas you should be able to watch it via regional CBS affiliates.
  5. Out-of-market TV channel: NFL Network Local channel: WBZ-TV CBS Streaming: Sling, Fubo, NFL+, Hulu+ Live If none of those work for you, hmu and I'll slide a link or two your way.
  6. Thanks LCF!! Was just wondering about him last week and got worried because I hadn't seen any updates in the Discord since his last check-in. Hope he recovers well and keeps pounding!
  7. Oh absolutely! If he's got wiggle room to make the call (and can reasonably justify it based on pre/post snap reads), take the shots ALL day. But to go out there, see the field, and still make the decision to immediately target the big play out of rhythm for the simple reason of trying to make himself look like he deserves a roster spot as it was worded... that'd be no bueno imo.
  8. 4 more hours until we get to start tho!!!
  9. By the very definition, your attempt to exclusively focus on protection is a strawman. As stated already, the combination of bad protection, lack of separation, poor play design, and poor play calling made life even more difficult for a rookie QB. Nobody could have performed well under those conditions. You're picking strictly one part of that and pointing out that a x3 SB champ and 8yr vet were pressured a similar amount of times played better. You're doing this because think that you can easily defeat that when the actual argument is ALL of those factors made success impossible for any QB. Not just one factor. tldr; nobody has said Bryce played bad just because of the bad protection so your attempt to focus solely on that when comparing a rookie to a x3 SB champ + 8yr vet is a strawman fallacy.
  10. I can't believe that I forgot about this! Very, very interested to see how Smith & Bates get these guys in position to succeed on kickoffs.
  11. Dunc (Unnecessary Bluntness) tweeted something along those lines and it made sense. I can see them giving Bryce reps in the second and third preseason game. If he doesn't get any I might start to be concerned.
  12. Out of all of the receivers, only Adam Thielen had a good one. If the receivers were performing well and Bryce was making them look bad as you're suggesting, this would look a lot different: It is the very definition of a strawman argument because you're attempting to take a rookie QB that had no protection, receivers that could not separate, bad play calling, and bad play design and compare him to a x3 Super Bowl champion and a QB that has been in the league since 2016. It is purposefully sidestepping the fact that the Panthers' weapons were bad and had some of the worst separation in the league. As we can see from the graphic I posted previously, Mahomes' had receivers that had 3.5+ yards of separation. You stated, "if Bryce sustained more drives," as if he was doing this alone. Again, how is a QB supposed to operate when he's being pressured on nearly 25% of his passing attempts and all of his targets save for Adam Thielen have a lower separation average than the league's? It's worth noting that the league average for separation was 2.94yds. The graphic showing Mahomes' targets show that they more than cleared that. Neither him nor Goff played under the conditions that Bryce did, who had to do it during his rookie season. Hell, if you want to compare Goff to Bryce then compare their rookie seasons when the Rams went 0-7 with Goff as the starter. Otherwise... strawman.
  13. I respect the attempt to strawman, but it wasn't just protection. Weapons that can get open would have helped tremendously. Bryce also had a higher pressure %, which would have been a more accurate way to rank who was under pressure most often. Mahomes was pressured just twice more on 70 more attempts. Is he the guy? idk but I do know that last year he flashed despite everything going wrong that could. Can he consistently show those flashes? We'll have to just wait and see.
  14. Be careful... Some of the angry weirdos might accuse you of gatekeeping.
  15. If the play call is to make his progressions and he skips to the ones that makes the biggest play as you suggested then that is not what the coaches called. His first job is to execute the offense and he's not doing that if he's immediately looking to the go routes that are designed to clear a defender for the passing concept designed on the play. He would not be giving the staff the ability to evaluate the rest of the talent on the roster because he'd be too busy looking out for himself if doing what you suggested. If fans want to be entertained by the play calling, they should check out Fan Controlled Football (FCF) instead of gaslighting themselves by demanding that an NFL team calls the plays that they want. I'd hate to be QB3 in a locker room where I wasn't getting my teammates the looks that were called for them in preseason. Especially if that was because I was too busy looking out for myself and throwing it on the deepest route every play, progressions be damned.
  16. If a 3rd string QB is going to go deliberately against the play call, they're not going to be trusted nor are they going to get many opportunities afterwards.
  17. I'm fairly certain if he does that once or twice he's going to be pulled, cut, and unlikely to find a team afterwards. Not because he's throwing deep and that's taboo or any other dismissive reasoning, but because he's looking to promote himself rather than playing with the team.
  18. I think that will depend on what Evero marches out scheme-wise. If we see the disguised coverages that he's known for, then we'll get to see how Milton responds to that. If it's vanilla and lots of man, we'll get to see how guys do on an island (and allow Milton to sling it).
  19. Failed physical. Looks like those injuries have done a number on him already. That sucks.
  20. I was thinking the same thing! lmao My favorite part about the Olympics, aside from the whole world competition and exploration of other cultures, is that I end up following a random sport or two that I've never kept up with before. It gets to the point of where I'm deep diving the history of the sport and the evolution of the tactics used so that I can better understand what I'm watching.
  21. Came across this while trying to find out what led to the inclusion of flag football as well as other info such as the NFL's involvement. I can't recall off of the top of my head what events have been added before the Tokyo games, but for that Olympics they added skateboarding, sport climbing, surfing, karate, and baseball/softball which are all popular in Japan. I can dig them rotating a couple of events in order to highlight the host country's culture/history. Looks like current NFL players are being encouraged to participate though. BY9 to Tyreek Hill?
  22. Canales has stated in his pressers that they're trying different back-ups with the 1s to see if they can consistently perform against them after showing flashes against 2nd & 3rd stringers. I think that Christensen is going to be the first man up if any iOL starters go down with Mays waiting to be the next to step in. Unless Zavala has shown huge leaps in his pass blocking I don't believe they'll rush to have him fill in.
