It's weird how when Bryce plays well that you and a couple of other fans will try to diminish it by saying that the opposing defense was bad but then in the same breath you'll demand flowers for a different player's performance against the same defense.

I am struggling to wrap my head around this... If the team is trying to compete, then they should have thrown the ball more when averaging over 5ypc? If they're not trying to compete, then they should have thrown the ball more to see if Bryce can be the guy? So either way, throw the ball more?

Yea, his pass pro has been rough. Makes me wonder if that's why we're seeing Deejay Dallas as much as we are. Fortunately, Rico's also been running angry as Hell and has more than made up for it with his production on the ground!

Surprised me as well. I used to cross my eyes and say that grades like that are why PFF isn't dependable, but after instead going back and re-watching the games I can understand how they came to some of their conclusions. I don't always agree, but it's been a fun and helpful way to challenge my opinions on players.

Trigger Warning: PFF Mitchell Evans looked great run blocking and likely makes Tremble expendable at the end of the year (I'd keep Tommy around anyways, he's a great locker room guy). Wallace + Rozeboom the top-2 grades!? They were both playing incredibly well and the defense is going to need more of that going forward. Also: BRYCEN TREMAYNE ELITE IN RUN BLOCKING!? WHAT CAN'T HE DO?

HOU: 15 - 13, no turnovers ATL: 9 - 7, no turnovers NO: 23 - 22, 1 interception NYG: 20 - 17, no turnovers ARI: 36 - 30, no turnovers @ATL: 44 - 38, no turnovers MIA: 27 - 24, 1 interception + 1 fumble DAL: 30 - 27, 1 interception (that was clearly TMac's fault) Which one of those games was Bryce clearly the reason that the team was behind aside from Miami?

...are there really people pointing out that the team is almost always playing from behind because of Bryce and not because the team fielded an historically bad defense? 12 starts with that, and another 16 starts with the high school poo show that was the Frank Reich year? And that's not even mentioning the supporting cast during Reich's season.

You and I both have watched fans blame a bad drive for the defense on Bryce because the offense had to punt it away. He's led the team to Ws without 200+ yard rushing performances from the RB room as well, so it feels weird for folks to even ask if he's capable of winning without that. What this team is built for is exactly what you said at the end: complementary football. Dallas averaged 1.6ypc to Carolina's 5.7ypc. In the pass game, Dallas averaged 7.7ypc with Carolina averaging 7.5ypc. 27 first downs to rhe Cowboys 15... that's an offense that put up 21pts, won in the trenches, and gave the defense plenty of rest. Special teams put up 9pts including the game winner and had kickoff returners in fits. Defense gave up 27pts but they made big stops when it mattered and kept Dallas to just 31yds rushing. Complementary football is a consistent winning formula in the NFL.

I don't think it's reasonable to ask that one player carry an entire team (especially when they are on the field for only one of two phases). Even Cam needed the defense to get him the ball back and guys like Norwell/Kalil/Turner to keep him upright. Bryce did not have Rico on that GWD vs. Miami as Rico had cramped up and left the field. Just like the 4th down today (and 4th down last week when he connected with TMac after scrambling), Bryce has made the plays that have been needed. 3 TDs from today were passing TDs.. two of them traveling more than 20 yards through the air. Does that mean he's the guy? Not yet, but he's proved that a lot of the hate he gets from some folks is completely unwarranted (especially some of the lazier ones, ie: too small to throw deep).

Bryce played well. No excuses.

The fact that this will trigger some folks is sad tbh. Last two GWD don't count because Dowdle went off for 200+ total yards in both games (never mind that vs. MIA Rico came off of the field with cramps during the GWD)... other GWD apparently don't count because they weren't "playing meaningful football." Gonna have to tell folks the same thing they try to tell everybody else: NO EXCUSES

Surprised that some fans aren't saying that because DAL and MIA were bottom-10 defenses that these games don't count for Rico.
