  1. Oh, I get it. I took a break for a few weeks myself. While we can't control others, fans do have a lot of valid reasons to be frustrated. Personally, I'm incredibly excited to see what the offense will look like with an experienced play-caller as well as an actual NFL-calibre OL (Erving/Jordan/Elflein/Daley are all back-ups if the team gets a top 3 LT at #6, and Miller is straight up gone). On the other side of the ball, the pass rush has definitely taken a step back with the loss of Reddick, but the pass defense overall should be okay with the return of Horn + DJack. We're going to have a lot more to scream into the void about for the draft. I can't wait.
  2. It's really, really hard for me to see the team have any success with Sam as the QB next season. Even with an improved OL and more experienced OC, I just can't see him being a capable starting QB.
  3. Really wish the team had a 2nd round pick to gamble on Howell, Corral, Ridder, or Strong... Gambled on Darnold instead.
  4. Sir, we live in a post pandemic society. That poo is getting door dashed.
  5. Pretty sure that sharing a border with Virginia guarantees that South Carolina > North Carolina.
  6. For context: Campen went undrafted himself and was asked about the talent level of the current OT prospects. It was not a declaration of, "Let's go draft a QB at #6 and try to make a bunch of late round picks work."
  7. Of course a defensive player scoring two TDs on back-to-back plays is memorable, it rarely happens! That can't be the standard as that simply isn't something that you see... well.. ever. I mean, it accounted for both of his forced fumbles and fumble recoveries for the season. That alone attests to the rarity. fwiw, his INT vs. Buffalo last year was an impact play and memorable (for me at least). It led to the first scoring drive for the Panthers just before the end of the half when they were down 14-0. Team still got the dog poo beat out of them, but for a moment Jeremy gave us hope.
  8. To add, he improved coverage wise but still statistically isn't very good there yet, but his pass rush numbers improved as well. He still misses a lot of tackles, but the fact that he's still producing AND improving is a good thing.
  9. It's a bad thing for sure if your safety is racking up the stat line, but he was still able to maintain production despite the front seven falling off. Is the answer to make Chinn a LB full time? I don't think so, but that's because it's not necessary due to Snow's defense. He likes having a safety that can play in the box like Chinn does. Having somebody competent deep like Woods will allow Chinn to play more downhill again, and having the defensive line step up will keep him clean since he's only 220.
  10. In Chinn's rookie season when he lined up at LB often, he had: 1 interception 5 pass deflections 2 forced fumbles 2 fumble recoveries 1 sack 5 QB hits 117 combined tackles (68 solo, 49 assists) 2 tackles for loss In his sophomore season at safety: 1 interception 5 pass deflections 1 forced fumbles 1 fumble recoveries 1 sack 5 QB hits 107 combined tackles (75 solo, 32 assists) 6 tackles for loss After being moved 10yds further away from the line of scrimmage, Jeremy Chinn had only 10 less tackles (but 7 more solo tackles), 1 less fumble recovery, 1 less forced fumble, and 4 more tackles for loss. I get that folks love their highlight reels, but how can anybody be claiming that he "disappeared" when the stats clearly show otherwise? Hell, he improved his TFLs while being 10yds further away from the line of scrimmage!
  11. Exactly. The injury concerns alone make the rumored x2 2nd round picks they're asking for him not worth it. At that point, hitch the wagon to Darnold behind a rebooted OL with a new OC + OL coach. Would the Panthers win more with Jimmy Guap? Undoubtedly. That price has to be right tho.
  12. 1. Is there a prospect that most scouts seem to be high on that you're incredibly low on (aside from Carson Strong, ofc)? What about a prospect that most are low on that you're very high on? 2. Strongest/weakest position groups in your opinion for this draft? 3. Any prospects that jumped out and caught your eye while reviewing a different player? Were you able to dive more into them and if so, what's your two-line summary? 4. Who was the most fun prospect for you to scout this year and why?
  13. I think that Jimmy G is the best available option for the team currently. He's got a winning record, playoff experience, and is known to be a smart QB that's safe with the ball. If Rhule wants to run a ball control offense, then Jimmy G is the guy. He's led game winning drives as well, including one last year against the Rams where the 49ers had the lowest chance to win out of any team this season. Fans that hated Teddy Bridgewater's style of quarterbacking are probably going to want to go ahead and sit out next season if the Panthers trade for Garoppolo. Most of his yardage comes from quick throws underneath and out to the flats so that his weapons can rumble after the catch. With players like CMC, DJ, and Robby that could work. If Tremble can continue to develop, that would give a much needed reliable tight end presence to work with. There's also the very real issue that Jimmy G has only successfully completed one full NFL season, so I would hope that the only way the team would trade for him is if they really believe that this OL is revamped and ready to go.
  14. Pickett to New Orleans. Willis to Pittsburgh. Corral to Tennessee. Ridder to Detroit. Howell to Atlanta. Strong to Seattle. GLASS TO CAROLINA.
  15. Would prefer Ekwonu or Cross. I don't think Neal makes it passed the New York teams.
  16. Minshew or Fitzmagic would be amazing for the memes
  17. Chad Muma, LB, Wyoming Amare Barno, OLB/DE, Virginia Tech Travon Walker, DE, Georgia Tariq Woolen, CB, UTSA Marcus Jones, CB/KR, Houston Samuel Womack, CB, Temple Abraham Lucas, OT, Washington State Ikem Ekwonu, OT, NC State Evan Neal, OT, Alabama Charles Cross, OT, Mississippi State Rasheed Walker, OT, Penn State Malik Willis, QB, Liberty Kenny Pickett, QB, Pittsburgh Matt Corral, QB, Ole Miss Desmond Ridder, QB, Cincinnati Sam Howel, QB, UNC Bailey Zappe, QB, Western Kentucky Carson Strong, QB, Nevada Brian Robinson, RB, Alabama Tyrion Davis Price, RB, LSU Velus Jones, WR/KR, Tennessee Jacquarii Roberson, WR, Wake Forest Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State Corey Sutton, WR, Appalachian State Jerome Ford, RB, Cincinnati 25 visits so far
  18. Love the Isaiah Thomas pick. I've mocked him to the Panthers with their late 4th round selection. Cade Mays could be decent depth. I especially like the value in the 7th. I hate the rest of it tho.
  19. Jimmy G is the game manager that Rhule has been searching for. If he is the Panthers' starting QB this coming season, then as far as I'm concerned the only way for Rhule's job to be safe is to make the playoffs (and not be embarrassed in the first round). Maybe it's the homer in me, but with an LT @ #6, JimmyG at QB, and one more solid edge rusher they just might be able to do it.
  20. It is hard for me to see McAdoo signing off on Mayfield, but JimmyG was well liked by executives and scouts. Wouldn't be surprised for it to be Jimmy G if there is a move made.
  21. Throw Icky and Brady on the left side and let them sort it out pls
  22. Fingers, toes, eyes, and ears crossed for a top OT @ #6 and Aqeel Glass on day 3!
  23. I'm feeling fairly confident about how Jaycee, TMJ, Christensen, and Tremble all develop but I am concerned that the latter three were drafted for an offense that is no longer here. Hopefully they can adapt to McAdoo's system. The TMJ pick is the one that bothers me the most in terms of how it will play out for the team. I liked the pick when it was made and still think he'll be a good player, but the allure was that he would know Brady's system and work his way in quickly. That ended up not happening, and Brady is no longer here. However, looking at everything that went down regarding when TMJ was selected... I'm fairly impressed. Traded 39th (2nd) and 151st (5th) for the Chicago's 52nd (2nd), 83rd (3rd), and 204th (6th) overall selections. Chicago's pick at #39: Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma St. Traded 52nd (2nd) and 113th (4th) for Cleveland's 59th (2nd) and 89th (3rd) overall selections. Cleveland's selection at #52: Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame. Panthers select at #59: Terrace Marshall Jr, WR, LSU. Panthers select at #83: Tommy Tremble, TE, Notre Dame. Traded 89th (3rd) for Houston's 109th (4th), 158th (5th), and their 2022 4th Rd selections. Houston's selection at #89: Nico Collins, WR, Michigan Traded 109th (4th) for Tennessee's 126th (4th), 166th (5th), and 232nd (7th) overall selections. Tennessee's selection: Dez Fitzpatrick, WR, Louisville Panthers select at #126: Chuba Hubbard, RB, Oklahoma St Panthers select at #158: Daviyon Nixon, DT, Iowa Panthers select at #166: Keith Taylor, CB, Washington Panthers select at #204: Shi Smith, WR, South Carolina Panthers select at #232: Phil Hoskins, DT, Kentucky The Panthers opted to make a move that meant losing out on one of the following players: Teven Jenkins, Richie Grant, Levi Onwuzurike, Liam Eichenberg, Trevon Moehrig, Kelvin Joseph, Walker Little, Jackson Carman, Asante Samuel Jr, Aaron Banks, Rondale Moore, Azeez Ojulari, Sam Cosmi, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Dillon Radunz, Dayo Odeyingbo, Pat Freiermuth, D'Wayne Eskridge, Tutu Atwell, Nick Bolton. As a result, they were able to pick up TMJ, Tremble, Chuba, Nixon, Taylor, Shi, and Hoskins. That's fairly impressive. If just two of those players pan out, that makes the wheeling and dealing worth it imo, though I'm sure others would disagree.
