  1. I remember being a little upset but not surprised when passed on Fields, definitely thought he was the best at the time just because in my mind he was a "baller". Then through last year I was relieved we did not draft him, fast forward to this season and now I'm wishing my team had him. Conclusion? Evaluating/drafting a QB is incredibly difficult and a QB's progression is NEVER linear, that applies to other positions too. My "baller" award for the 2023 QB class? It's Bryce freaking Young and I've been singing CJ Stroud's praises all season. That's changed as the year has gone along.
  2. ..... I just realized that if we took this deal then we'd have enough ammo to offer the Saints for Sean Payton
  3. This is true, and likely a factor in Fitterer declining it which I completely understand
  4. Prob similar to the money now > money later approach in finance. Also I suppose it makes sense to view it as the worst possible outcome to keep it conservative but still.... first round picks are first round picks. Blue chip talent in there if you approach it the right way.
  5. I'm not gonna lie to you that makes zero sense and I appreciate things like value charts.
  6. Life ain't fair, take this team to the playoffs and the job is yours. No playoffs, we are likely drafting a QB and hiring an offensive guy to pair up together. Sorry Wilks, but I appreciate the hell out of your professionalism so far and making me like this team again.
  7. I wouldn't trade Burns for the Rams offer but I'll admit it seems pretty fair and wouldn't hold it against them for taking it. I'd just rather keep some good players on this team who are already good lol. I'd like to win some games.
  8. I love Jaycee will defend him to the death. But he can't stay on the field enough, could've had Parsons.....
  9. Robbie's behavior can be summed up by our dear friend Patrick Star
  10. I don't like that Tepper can get his hands in stuff, but I do like that he's a bit of a maniac about winning and a bit cutthroat. Rhule was just not good at the NFL level, nothing new there. Fitterer was indeed a little handcuffed by Rhule having final say and hopefully can be a more positive influence going forward. Herbert was an obvious miss but I'm not going to hang that over anyone especially since we didn't even have a chance to take the guy without a trade. Plus if we had Herbert with Rhule it would just be another Panthers chapter with a generational QB and a very questionable head coach.
  11. I'm just happy Wilks is operating in Charlotte where he's comfortable and has a great support system. I know it feels good to him to be running the Panthers, I'm sure he felt on an island in Arizona and his consequent firing was a rough hand to be dealt. However, I don't want him to be our HC next year unless he leads us to the playoffs this year. Then I'd listen to HC opportunity for him if that happens.
  12. Please don't trade this dude, we need him for his next contract
  13. Kid is an absolute baller and I love watching him play but god dang it that size is concerning and everyone knows it.
  14. Marty didn't want Rhule until he tasted those sweet, sweet meatballs. I would rather Tepper buy into Fitts BS opposed to Rhule because he has actually worked in the NFL and understands how it works and how a successful organization (Seahawks) operate. CMC trade was not dumb I don't think, it stings for sure, but an expensive RB is not getting us anywhere right now. We also need as many chances at NFL draft prospects as we can get, we are no better or worse than most NFL franchises at evaluating talent, we just can't get the coaching right.
  15. Wow that was ummmm.... not impressive at all. A few good throws hitting a crosser or a slant but tons of screens to Wandale Robinson (who might be good on the Giants) and why the f did they include those boot pitches to him too lol. So many deep balls where Wandale is wide open and the Georgia game was nothing... no balls up the seam or outside the numbers over the shoulder. Whoever is the OC for 2021 Kentucky is good though because there were some good designs in there to help out. HARD pass from me dawg absolutely not a #1 QB type talent if that's all he's got.
  16. Who was incredibly the best QB we've had in the post-Cam Panthers era.
  17. Definitely not, in fact we shouldn't use a single second day pick on a running back. Draft one late or sign a cheap FA.
  18. After Rhule is finally dumped he recoups a few picks with CMC that he may or may not have been handcuffed into making in trading for failed QBs. Trades Robbie to be someone elses problem and I'm sure more is coming, full control is finally in his hands now and he gets to choose his new coach and QB. Good luck to you sir!
  19. Everyone outside of Panthers fans know it's a pretty good deal for us but the wound is so fresh here and hurts so much worse it's to be expected people aren't thrilled. It's a solid B+ for us I'd say, it'll change once we actually see where those draft picks are used on.
  20. That’s a lot of IFs but sure. How about imagine if we did this right from day 1 when Tepper bought the team instead of the one foot in one foot out bull crap we had to deal with under Rhule’s tenure. We’d be competing right now in a weak sauce NFC. Landscape can change a lot in the next 2-3 years. Look I’m a little happy we are finally going full rebuild and tank because we could use it especially with new qb and coach otw but the path to get here was bull crap and ruined the trust with the fans a bit.
  21. New top gun is awesome go see it and never ever compare this garbage trash can franchise to the best Hollywood model of American Aviation of all time.
