  1. Tua's Bama teams were at another level when it comes to offensive talent compared to Bryce. Tua in 2018/2019 had Damien Harris, Josh Jacobs, Najee Harris, Ruggs, Waddle, DeVonta, and Jeudy. Bryce played with some great guys too but not nearly as stacked as what Tua or even Mac Jones had. Personally Bryce's playmaking ability gives him a big advantage over Tua for me as a prospect.
  2. Welcome to Carolina Short King, Bryce Young. Buying his jersey Day 1.
  3. With less than 2 weeks to go, the decision-makers haven't discussed who they are learning towards for No. 1 overall pick. You really believe that?
  4. I will walk Uptown Charlotte and post a picture in just my boxers if the Panthers trade down from #1. It makes no sense whatsoever. And the idea the Texans wouldn't have have anyone connected enough to know by draft day whether the Panthers intend on drafting Young or not isn't believable in the slightest. Which makes it hard for me to buy into the idea the Panthers are playing a long-game of trying to fool the Texans. Nobody knows how the first/second round will play out better than the literal NFL teams do.
  5. I don't think some of you realize how connected teams are. Remember when the Saints leapfrogged us for a player they knew we were going to pick up? Every NFL team is littered with guys who hear these things. If Young isn't the Panthers target, then the Texans would be aware of this at the very least, by draft day. And so they would have no reason to engage in trade talks with the Panthers because they know they will get their guy at #2... unless you think the Panthers would take Young out of spite, which is a foolish way to run a team. Again, like someone said... if the Texans wanted #1 that bad, they were in the absolute best spot of any team in the NFL to do so. But they didn't. Bears could have gotten picks from them and then traded #2 for more picks/players. Panthers are not playing some special ops mission trying to fool the Texans into trading up to #1. Panthers are picking No. 1 overall, which is why they traded DJ Moore.
  6. The Panthers are not trading the #1 pick. I would bet my last dollar on it. Doesn't make a lick of sense and I don't know why people keep trying to push it as a possibility. Has any credible source said that the Texans have even talked to the Panthers about trading up? Has any credible source said the Panthers have any interest in trading the #1 pick? Why would the Panthers trade away DJ Moore, to trade down to #2? What could the Texans reasonably and realistically give us that would offset giving away DJ Moore? The Panthers weren't willing to part with another 1st, hence why they gave up Moore instead, so it would have to be 2 1sts. And the Texans aren't giving up 2 1sts to move up one spot. Can we please stop pushing this theory that the Panthers are trying to trick the Texans into trading up to #1?
  7. I would be shocked. It wouldn't make any sense at all. It is like people forget we included DJ Moore in the trade. Our best player on offense by far. You don't do that if you don't plan at sticking at #1.
  8. I respectfully disagree. Why don't you think his escapability will translate? It isn't as if there aren't several QBs now who excel at extending plays inside and outside of the pocket. He's very, very quick/twitchy and while everyone is pointing out the downsides of being smaller in stature, a big upside is that he will be harder for defenders to get a hold on and legally make contact with. Even if he has a bad rookie year, I expect him to be one of the best at escaping pressure.
  9. The draft is in less than 2 weeks. I'm sure the front office and coaches are still going through their final evaluations, but I am fairly certain they have a good sense of who they plan on picking #1. Obviously the team won't come out and say that - it would be a disservice to the other QBs they have coming in on visits/interviews. But I don't think this is as much of a mystery as people are making it out to be.
  10. What a dumb tweet. Bryce Young has been the consensus #1 QB for most of the last year.
  11. There is no way the Texans would give us enough to make up for DJ Moore, just to move up one spot.
  12. I can’t believe the idea the Panthers will trade down is still being floated. You don’t trade for #1 to not make a pick there. Especially when to acquire #1, you had to trade your best offensive player. There is just no chance the Panthers are trading down.
  13. His arm is on the same level as Brees, Bucs Brady, and Ryan.
  14. The more of Young I watch, the more I see why he was the consensus No. 1 overall pick all year. Felt like Stroud only got into the discussion because of size. I like Stroud though. I think he's going to be a solid QB with the potential to be great. But something is special about Young. He just gives me the vibes of a QB who, with the game on the line, can create special opportunities for your team that not many other QBs can.
  15. There have been plenty of great QBs without elite physical qualities. In our division alone, we've seen Brees, Brady, and Ryan make it to the Super Bowl. Young is shorter than them, but he's certainly a better athlete and playmaker with his legs along with comparable, if not slightly superior, arm strength.
  16. I mean, maybe? He was the #1 QB in his recruiting class and #2 player overall. So it isn't like he was some unknown when he went to Alabama. In all likelihood he would have killed it at any big school he went to.
  17. Why do you think that? Plenty of guys made a career out of buying extra time to throw. Russ is the obvious example. Early Big Ben was a master at it. Then you have guys like Mahomes, Allen, etc. I don't know why Young's best trait, or among his best traits, would somehow become non-existent in the NFL.
  18. Good thing we don't have to worry about us being in the conversation. I like Lamar but something feels off about this entire situation.
  19. Totally misread the poll. I'm conflicted. I think highly of both. I'm leaning towards CJ Stroud though. I feel like the floor with him is so high. However I do think Young's elite playmaking ability could put him over the top in the NFL. Personally as of right now I'm hoping we draft Stroud.
