Tepper is still pulling the strings
Bear Hands replied to Panthers Fan 69's topic in Carolina Panthers
Solid is stretching it. Rozeboom frustrated the hell out of Rams fans. Not as bad as Reeder, but close. LB was a known issue going into this week and it showed in a huge way. And Wallace was a high ceiling but super raw LB prospect. Moehrig's slipups were surprising. But yeah, Evero's playcalling and personnel deployment is super annoying. He likes playing light in the box which is nonsense given who we brought into our front-7. -
We traded our WR1 and what became 1.01 in a loaded QB draft for him. That being attached to his career makes it so much worse than it should feel.

Tepper is still pulling the strings

I've given Canales some runway. Still will for about half the season to thoroughly judge, but the way he calls the run game is infuriating and vanilla. I don't think he wants or is trying to have a diverse running attack. Dan Morgan though...the 2025 draft looks promising but the 2024 draft returns look like a disaster. 1.01 - Caleb Williams/None (traded it for Bryce the year prior) Late 1st - traded up for XL (lol) Over - Keon, Ladd, DeJean 2nd - Traded around and took Brooks who was injured over Sainristil, Frazier, Kneeland, Rosengarten 3rd - Trevin - I'm finally willing to express some major concern but Rozeboom blows and doesn't help him At that point you don't need to look at the rest lol -
I think we should go for the next 5’8 180 kid. Damn our history with the 6’5 250 one lol

I think Kyle Orton may still hold the trophy for worst long-ish term starter of all time but he definitely rivals him.

I think it was something like the lowest true YPA and EPA with a clean pocket.

Watching 2024 week 1 Cannales Presser again

That’s what my more practical side tells me. But if Tepper feels extra embarrassed, then who knows -
Sure sounds good

Watching 2024 week 1 Cannales Presser again
Bear Hands replied to Newtcase's topic in Carolina Panthers
If his job is on the line, I think you can only really give a performance like today 3-4 weeks max in year 3 for a 1.01. -
Going hard doesn't always mean going well lol. He's still starting and had a really nice 2024.
-
We don't. Kirskey & NcNeil are still here. Have been for a bit. Some from Hurney finally left but others linger.
-
We're more than halfway through this decade and it's been a complete waste. Test ran Teddy two-gloves, went XFL-alum, burned through (and failed) 2 competent starters that are still going hard (Darnold, Mayfield), drafted Corral (lol), traded up for Bryce (this counts for like 3 tries), have had the ginger fluttering about. 0-7 since Cam. Thank you, please try again Panthers.

We have Horn, Brown, Hunt, Lewis & McMillan for the future. Really, it's 5 guys at best. Hubbard is nice, but RBs come and go unless they're world beaters. The rest of the roster on both sides is entirely replaceable. I know it is because we've replaced it like 3 times since Cam left. Scott nor Morgan rebooted the scouting department. It's been mostly the same this entire time since Rhule's start (and many before). There's nothing to relax from. There were no expectations and everyone is still completely amazed by the lack of really anything watchable. Not to be doom and gloom, but there's not much else anymore to say.
-
We've been relaxing since mid-season 2018. There is no house to burn down. We keep trying to make a footing and screwing up the pour.

Xavier Legette fuging sucks

He was. David Gettis was better. -

No short area burst or quickness, terrible route running, he can't play against zone-D on the outside. Has never been capable of this, has zero nuance to his game, and why I never bought the argument he's this worthy reach as an X-receiver. He's kindergarten Deebo meets Metcalf. And eats raccoons. -
Realistically, this franchise will not do anything for at least 3-4 games at absolute minimum. He is likely there for the season given the QB room. That being the case unless Tepper lights seats on fire and demands a low stakes trade for a younger backup (B. Allen, McKee, etc). If we are a disaster come week 4-5 (and the schedule is not world beaters), he's gonna force the hand. Bryce is done unless he makes a highly improbably run at this point.

No fluff, no crap, cutting right to it: Someone can be an upstanding dude, want to do all the right things, have the mental traits, but if you can't perform, none of it matters. And he isn't performing up to the standards of a starting QB. He had like 60 yards at halftime. My one expectation was to not look dead/lethargic. Expectations were super low. I.E. - Don't look like the Clausen era and Bryce year 1 where we couldn't even sustain a 1:50 minute drive more than 3 downs and a punt. All I was looking for was like 2 TDs, F*ck, not even a win. When he played "well" last season, he was bailed out with dropped INTs and we also featured a huge amount of empty sets to handicap him. He still had his ridiculous mechanics and flippant pocket presence. None of that has changed. You simply can't do enough with him to create a diverse, movable offense, so defense's jobs are super easy. The Jags didn't even play us that tough. We couldn't execute simple concepts as an offense, and our playbook is incredibly restricted due to his abilities. I'm at the end. I'll let him pleasantly surprise me and make me look like a fool. I won't be relentless in my disinterest. I'm just out.

He’s showing why plenty out there (with team intel) had him anywhere from 70 to 100 overall in his class. Only a select few thought of him higher and we were one. Took him over Ladd, Frazier, Sainristil, Kneeland, so much g damn talent -
I disagree. Prospect wise, it's looking better than last year, 2022, & 2019. You've got the well rounded long term starter in Nuss. The exciting high ceiling guy in Sellers. The prototype cannon in Allar. Mateer is interesting too. And that's not counting the more divisive guys like Arch & Klubnik
-
If the play continues as we've seen, Sellers or Nuss are likely the targets.

So is the NFL just deciding to bail on our game? When's the weather projecting to clear? -

Alright let's see how we respond to a few bad offensive sets. Hopefully not more...
