  1. I'll take film all day over advanced metrics. Stroud can put the ball in spots where Young can't. Especially on deep outs. From the pocket as well.
  2. I see positives in Stroud and also Young. The only thing that scares me about Young's style of play is that the NFL is a different animal than the SEC. Some of the cute (awesome) plays that he could make in college won't be there in the NFL so you have to deduct some of his stock off for that. I'm intrigued by Stoud's pre-snap abilities and if that's something that the team feels they can coach up. pre-snap seems like there area where Young has the advantage right now.
  3. Anyone picking their QB based off of a 40 time should probably go back to the drawing board as an evaluator. BTW the ball travels much faster and more efficiently in the air without nearly as many injuries.
  4. Simms breaks it down exactly the way I've seen it. The comparison with Burrow/Stroud sticks out to me considering the talent level they both have had surrounding them in college.
  5. I just have a gut feeling that it's been CJ Stroud from the jump. I can't picture Young being as dominant in the Reich mesh concept offense.
  6. Andy Dalton is an adequate back-up QB. That is what this move is all about. More than likely hold the clipboard all season barring injury. Unless we draft AR15...which is too much of a gamble for me.
  7. I signed up to CH just to reply to this thread. I don't see Sam Darnold throwing dimes from opposite hash between two defenders like CJ. Sam isn't even good from a clean pocket, he can't throw open his receivers, he panics when nobody is immediately open. Sam, in half of CJs bombs would throw a check-down. There is no comparison. Looking at the mechanics of AR, you cannot justify that pick when he's a year to two from playing an NFL down.
