I apologize but places like On3 have good track records with recruiting and transfers. If they are saying McCall had Florida on the radar I’d be inclined to believe it. I had folks here tell me stuff about UF and Anthony Richardson that they heard from folks connected to the program and their “friends” and the info I was putting out turned out more accurate because I have connections at the program, too. And mine are good with the new regime. I don’t want to get into a pissing match about all this as it’s pointless but you just look up Grayson McCalls name on twitter and it’s easy to find plenty of folks who have talked about is credits not transferring over. Maybe you don’t have anyone at ESPN or CBS running with the story because either they don’t have the same inside sources or it’s a beyond busy time and reports will come out about who is transferring where and not typically why they didn’t go to X Y or Z.

His credits won’t transfer to the SEC. It’s why he cancelled his Auburn visit and Florida never offered. It’s been reported on Twitter by a bunch of folks now. We wanted him. We were the favorites just days ago. However, if the credits won’t transfer over he isn’t coming.

So even odder part to this story. We wanted him at Florida but he didn’t have the grades to transfer to Florida or Auburn. Hence why he didn’t visit.

Do you only do good at work if your wife tells you she thinks you’re going to have a good day today? To be clear, because I’ve said this a bunch, I ALWAYS root for the Panthers to win. I’ve never turned on a game and wished they would lose. And I’ve written there here a bunch. However, I think it’s childish to tell other fans go be a fan somewhere else because they don’t cheer the same way as me lmao. That’s like kindergarten stuff. The players play to win every game. That’s a fact. And it’s also a fact that despite this fight they have, and the support you have given, we have never had back to back winning seasons. We are the only team in major sports like this. Maybe something needs to change.

If we make the playoffs we might as well win the whole thing. That being said, the last thing this team needs is “fans” telling other “fans” to go root for another team if you don’t agree with what’s best for the long term future of this franchise.

IF Payne hits free agency he’s as good as gone to the Bears. Position of need. He’s young. They have like 140m in cap space after cuts next year. Their biggest need on defense. They’ll likely go after Hargrave too.

The Chicago Bears will own the #2 pick and look to trade back and gather more early draft picks this year and next, or they will sit and draft either DT or EDGE ( they desperately need both ). They also have more than double the money they next closest team in free agency has where they can sign 2 offensive linemen starters, two defensive lineman starters, and still have roughly 80m to play with. There are a lot of ways at that point to enhance the roster. Their goal would bring in Daron Payne if the Commanders choose not to tag him. They are short on money and they already signed two other lineman to long term expensive contracts plus they will have to pay Chase Young soon. The Bears secondary with Johnson, Gordon and Brisker actually look good when they play but they have no pass rush. They could draft Will Anderson and sign Payne and Hargraves ( Eagles ) and add two guys at DT who get sacks plus an edge rusher to get sacks to help them out. And Sanborn oddly looks better than RSmith when he was in Chicago. The rest of their draft can be used on offensive talent at WR and TE to help out Fields. There are no elite pass catchers in free agency. I don’t know if I buy into the “because he has no talent around him it’s easy for him to put up numbers” type of thinking. I think it’s the opposite. I think his passing stats would look tremendously better if he were on a more talented team and didn’t constantly have to be the hero on the offense every play. And the Bears are sold. The coach is now calling him the franchise. The defensive players are saying this is the QB they have been dreaming about having on their team and just never happened before. And this is what I hate about us right now. We have no quarterbacks to be excited about. We are so starved for a QB to play just league average. We have a playoff roster, believe it or not, if we had a better QB. There’s no reason QBs here should not have had major success with Moore, Anderson and CMC to pass to. But that’s the reality of the situation. Cam with no shoulder, Teddy, Kyle, Taylor, PJ, Sam and Baker suck. They are not league average QBs. This is why I am so adamant we need to identify who we think would have success here in Charlotte and do whatever it takes to draft them. If we can sit where we are and have our guy fall then cool. Stay put. But if we say… Will Levis or CJ Stroud are the guys, GO GET THEM. And don’t hope the rest of the league passes on them. This fandom and this franchise is starving for a young QB to be excited about.
