  1. 1. Not everyone gets bloated in their face when carrying water weight. Plenty of folks keep shredded features in wrestling when carrying water weight to make weight before a match. 2. Just because he’s our quarterback doesn’t mean we just magically forget and ignore any concerns we have for him. You can be a fan without actively blinding ourselves.
  2. I think it’s a Bama thing. Look at Tua. Look at Mac. Look at Bryce. They work hard in other ways. Saban clearly isn’t pushing his QBs in the weight room.
  3. Aren’t the rules about changing your jersey number? Like you have to apply for it by a certain date and then you have to offer to buy back some of your jersey sales? Bryce is going to have to pay him for it. https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/news/nfl-jersey-number-rules-2021-changes/gi7edb7zi2kn15fqulia6gkmw Sounds like you have to pay for any retail ready inventory the nfl has ready. Dalvin Cook had to pay 1.5 million to change his. Not sure what MC would have to pay.
  4. He played at 180-185 during college.
  5. This folks. His playing weight was 185. He added water weight for the combine weigh in and then didn’t reweigh at his pro day. Know why? Because by then he was under 200 pounds again. He’s not some kid who is wired to be the first guy in the gym and work out for hours like Cam was. If he was he’d be thicker. Alabama has world class facilities and weight trainers and nutritionists. Again, look at pictures of the two guys you are comparing. Bijan is shredded and has muscle on him. Bryce is not that. But then again, neither was Tua and Mac Jones was fat. At Alabama they don’t hit the weights or aren’t pushed to as a position group.
  6. It’s his way of trying to drive up value of their pick. HEY TEAMS THAT ARE INTERESTED IN HIM WE MIGHT DRAFT HIM MAYBE YOU WANT TO MAKE US A GOOD OFFER?
  7. Thank you. Wasn’t sure on who #1 was but I know during their bickering he mentioned Levis was his 2.
  8. I for sure believe we have a pretty good offensive line. I think the part about the WRs might be team speak. I would have to look back at when they were signed and when the dinner was that convinced the team Bryce was the guy. I think we signed them before the dinner when we still weren’t sure who our guy was. And it sounds better to the fans than acknowledging the loss of DJ Moore’s talents. “We lost Moore but its ok guys we grabbed two guys in free agency who are specifically catered to the kid we are drafting.”
  9. We are ahead of the curve in the division. We went out and got a high end QB prospect. In another year, Atlanta, Tampa and New Orleans might all be kicking themselves for not doing more to get a good one on a rookie contract sooner. I understand the Falcons giving Ridder a chance. I don’t understand what Tampa is doing. The Saints got Carr but I am anti-retreads.
  10. For sure. I think Hurst needs to have a career year here. He, like the others on our team hasn’t played a lot of full seasons. Missing games in all but 1-2 of his seasons and he has never had a massive statistical year. 5 years in and he made it to 500 yards once. And I don’t want folks to think I am not happy about Bryce being here. I just think it’s fair to point out my personal concerns with him and the offensive roster we have around him.
  11. Are we looking short term or long term? My preference would have been: Stroud with Chark, Theilen, TMJ and Shenault over the two you posted. Short term, this one season, it’s a toss up. Metchie has the talent to be the best of everyone listed above and Robert Woods is likely going to play the entire year at a consistent level. There’s less boom or bust from week to week with him like Theilen or Chark. We have a better offensive line. We have a better defense who should give our offense more chances to score and run up stats and we have a better coaching staff. I would feel better about the development of either guy if their teams went out and got them a true #1. We are missing it and so are they.
  12. There is a way to be critical and then there is a way to be an ass. Sometimes folks here forget the line.
  13. I love Richardson and I am a Gator guy for life. I just think the Colts organization promised the starting job to Minshew. And Minshew has spent this offseason working out with Richardson in Florida so I think they had an idea they would wind up together. I’ve been on board with telling people his numbers are going to look a lot better in the NFL than they did at Florida.
  14. To add onto my previous post: What I worry about with Young: He admits he can’t really see much of the middle of the field. He relies on timing and knowing where guys are supposed to be. Who is our #1 WR this year? DJ Chark. What is the big knock on Chark? He doesn’t stay on the field. So if he and Young can’t link up with their timing because Chark tends to miss a lot of games and practices that hurts anything you want to do over the middle with him. Who is our 2? Adam Theilen. He is about to be 33 years old and played a full season 1 time in the last four years. He misses games and practices. Again, think about the timing for Young and what this does to him. What is the knock on Young? Not a great arm and his size. He’s very slim for the NFL. If he already doesn’t have a great arm and he gets dinged up during the year his arm is going to go from NFL acceptable to uh oh. And that will hurt his outside passing game if he lacks zip. And if you can’t throw outside, and can’t trust throws inside due to timing and not being able to see, its a recipe for disaster. He has the talent to overcome this stuff but I would feel a lot better if we still had DJ as the 1 for him to throw to.
  15. You have to understand that different people value different things. For me, I had Young as my QB3. Stroud Richardson Young Levis I am of the belief that Young is as much of a boom or bust prospect, due to his frame, as Anthony Richardson. I think the top 3 guys deserved to go in the first. But my grade on each of them wasn’t a massive difference. I believe Stroud is plug and play into any offense year 1, Richardson will need to be a goal line guy year 1 for Minshew and Young you will need to tailor your offense to him a bit.
  16. I’ve seen a lot of folks make fun of Stroud for his S2. They been posting memes here the last few days.
  17. Size is probably part of the grading process. And being under the height you would like by a smidge hurt and then knowing he probably plays ball at 185, which is so far under what most NFL QBs play at, probably made him remove him from the first round grades. Plus, believe it or not, there is some pretty damning tape on Bryce when facing NFL talent.
  18. Then after that disaster for Tyrod he went to the Chargers to be the starter and bridge the gap to Herbert only to have a doctor like puncture his lung during an injection and force him out of the lineup and make Herbert a day 1 starter. He has had awful luck.
  19. Year 3 and healthy Pitts, year 2 and improving Drake London, plus Patterson and Robinson at RB / Slot is a pretty nice offensive group thats young and can grow together. The problem is if Ridder doesn’t step up they waste the year. However, if Ridder doesn’t step up, the next rookie QB is walking into a situation with a lot of playmakers around him.
  20. Winners: Carolina Panthers: You can disagree with the pick but our organization filled with some of the best minds in football went up to 1 to make sure we got the exact guy we wanted and didn’t have to hope and pray some other team passed up on him. We were a 7 win team with no QB and poor coaching. This should have us in the playoffs right now. This is a clear win for an organization as cursed as us. Houston Texans: They clearly had a plan. I’m not sure if they would have picked Bryce over CJ if both were available but they sprinted to the podium the moment our pick was over to go get their guy and then they spend their time negotiating a deal to get the #1 pass rusher in the draft one pick later. They are still devoid of talent but when you come away with a draft board that has you snagging some folks #1 QB and the #1 rusher… home run. Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles continue to just make intelligent moves and got the guy most folks were saying is the best player in the entire draft plus Nolan Smith who is a stud and a great leader. Their defense was supposed to take a step back this season and now I am not so sure. They look primed for another deep playoff run. Chicago Bears: The Bears spent this draft getting my #1 Tackle to protect Justin Fields, picked up an extra fourth rounder next year to drop 1 spot to make it happen and then factor in what has already transpired. The Bears are coming away from the draft with DJ Moore as well getting pick 61, next years first and the year after second. It’s the type of haul that if Fields isn’t the guy they have the ammunition next season to go get one or they spend most of their draft capital on defense the rest of this year and next year and that team would be totally rebuilt. Losers: Detroit Lions: I can understand the mentality of the Falcons picking Bijan Robinson. I can’t wrap my head around the Lions selecting Gibbs at this slot. To me they already had running backs plus this is WAY WAY over value for him. I think they could have got him in the second for sure. Just a waste of resources. This whole draft should have been mostly defense for them. Green Bay Packers: They went with Lukas Van Ness when they need to find out what they actually have in Jordan Love. Where is the offensive help? This pick should have been Quentin Johnston or Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Buffalo Bills: The Bills needed a WR to compliment Josh Allen and Steffon Diggs. They missed out on that run and took the first pass catching TE off the board. However, as a friendly reminder, the only rookie TE who has ever been productive in the modern era at an elite level their rookie season was Kyle Pitts. And Dalton Kincaid is absolutely not Kyle Pitts. First round TEs outside of Pitts typically get you in the 400 yards area. This is not worth a first round pick and between Allen running often and the other WRs on the team I don’t think there is going to be too many passes being thrown his way as well. Folks liked the pick but it was a panic move for Buffalo after watching four WRs go off the board. Kansas City Chiefs: What a reach for a local kid. But it doesn’t matter in the end because as long as Mahoney and Kelce stay healthy they have a shot at the Super Bowl. The last time they picked this late they drafted CEH and hes been nothing in the NFL to the point where the team was relying on a late round pick out of Rutgers to be their guy down the stretch. This is another pick that likely will amount to little to nothing and be replaced in a couple years. While you have Kelce around, the TE from ND, Mayer would have been an awesome pickup to allow him to learn from Travis as he is older now. Everyone else either had picks I could understand or were expected.
  21. But at the same time, pre CMC the 49ers season looked LOST. He was the big addition they got from us and that turned everything around.
  22. Baker only came in because the guy in front of him got hurt. Fields came in because Dalton had to miss a few starts.
  23. Trade Matt plus pick 93 to Washington for Young or straight up trade Matt for Malik Willis as a way to get two young guys a fresh start.
