  1. He is a really smart player and pretty good hands. How much YAC was there for him? And yeah I know he is athletically past his peak. At the least, he served some kind of purpose last year that no one else was doing much of so I’m not worried a ton. If the QB needs him then you know, he will be there again, regardless. I’d love if someone beat him out, that is raising our floor which is about the first thing that we need to do. The HC and the OC too if i’m not mistaken went through being WR coaches as part of their OJT. So, helpful with evaluating. (I come back to it and see, we have a few guys to really look at).
  2. We really need some kind of graphic that says ROTFLMAO, or however they say it in 2024.
  3. Darn right. I don’t even get fancy, I just wait until the free replays are uploaded and keep my Sundays for things that don’t make me feel bad. And we are talking a speed watch missing nothing but filler that takes a little over an hour. Rewatch the interesting parts at your leisure. Listen to those balls quack, watch Icky play like he was a Washington General... all the quality experiences you hate to waste your day on, but don’t want to miss.
  4. I love this. The NFL Corporation needs a lot of cutting down to size afaic.
  5. I mean, when I say improve, I am not expecting a lot. I’m, trying to be accommodating to the Bryce terrorists lest I get constantly harassed for stating what seems obvious (so I’ll just let it become obvious to them, eventually). I believe we are going to disagree for a little while about Morgan. If these guys have coaching savvy that draft will be okay. At least whatever we did in the first 101 picks, and not expecting 4 home runs because that is not realistic. I don’t know who you count out though, other that the LB. And Morgan played LB in the league and was good so maybe he knows somnething we don’t. Jets preseason week let’s see what things look like for some of these players - while also remembering we aren’t realistically competing for anything this year, and the new people are young in their jobs. players, coaches, Morgan.... because we really don’t know they are gonna be. At least the rookies.
  6. I hear you. Tepper, as far as I am concerned, the worst is over with him. Maybe not but i have put the bar at a single season without him pulling a Tepper. I do believe Dan Morgan understands talent. I think Canales knopws what he wants, and I think they are two men that will be in sync which will really help things. Maybe I am a fool for thinking that anything will ever be better. I am giving all of them a year without bitching about them... in terms of they need to be gone. I am about to bail if Young sucks again and they don’t bring in an upgrade. Which, I would not release him after year two no matter what you are paying him anyway and will need a backup. Maybe he will be better, maybe they all will. I am not saying they are winning anything, just want to see the direction reverse.
  7. I have seen another post somewhere recently that says we signed Greg Olsen. He was a trade, with Chicago ftr. An actual great trade.
  8. Also, on the OL, and in regards to missing maybe on Icky, it has become very difficult to project college tackles in the NFL because college has changed so much the last however many years. I think what they did with the guards is what should happen with the tackles, we find guys that have proven adaptability to the pro game and just pay them. Draft them much lower, take your D line beasts and skill players up top.
  9. I was looking at us last year and saying we were basically an expansion team (again). And worse than the ’95 team (which I didn’t say but hell i just was trying to be nice).
  10. These are higher picks, easier to find starters, and I am gonna hold that the coaching was failing players. How many coaches and OCs have there been? So maybe things are a bit different with a unified staff. We will get to see how they (staff) do with the ‘failures’ that are not too far gone. Horn we know, it is injuries and it wasn’t predictable (like people may feel about the new RB). Icky looked really bad last year, yep he sure did. But not as horrible the first year. So we will see. Good lord I agree on Young being a huge mistake but they may be able to coach him up and scheme things to where he is maybe 50% of what was hoped for. These second round receivers, we have had crap QB play and that does not help them. The multiple OCs and HCs certainly doasn’t. I am just saying the players could have talent but the coaches we had were failing them and the QBs we had were failing them. Where was any continuity for these young players? That poo is very important. (and we know the don’t All pan out regardless of anything else) I have been a hard pessimist the last 6 years, and think they earned every bit of fail that came to them (and trickled down to us) , at the same time if you can’t think there could have been other possible outcomes with different people involved, you have out pessimisted me. That is a chore, congratulations.
  11. Yeah it would have mattered because we would probably be at around 50% on the picks and we’d have the ones we traded so we are 50% on them, and DJ Moore on that contract. Net gain of some kind of better. Changing that could have changed the direction prior to the 2023 draft. Maybe we trade those picks for a vet QB. No way to say what would have ensued. I do recognize the black cat factor and probability that something wrong will happen at regular intervals.
  12. I let it run while i was doing other stuff and really need to sit down with it but yes the vibe was much less hyped.
  13. I haven’t started it. It is a real long one. I haven’t seen anything on it here so:
  14. The niece was a nice twist. Did Tepper place her there to aid him in his quest to buy a team?
  15. Fitterer is eating breakfast with Reich, way off the radar at the Tepper trough. I bet he lands as an AD at some dinky college when the Tepper pay runs out. Pretty sure he had ’24 and ’25 left on his contract.
  16. Yep. Whether you would or would not have traded him the first time, It was 1.5 years after they turned down the cheese. Now he needs a fat new deal, it is a totally different equation. I know he can wreck some plays but he is not a take over guy and I don’t think that is worthy of that level deal. And he’ll kill it with the endorsements in NYC so he probably not unhappy.
  17. I was reading it thinking "you wrote that? You could get a job with Hallmark.” Then I saw the chatgpt
  18. I just didn’t want them to pay him was my biggest thing. The two firsts deal, I felt like Tepper wanted to keep him but that is just guessing. You are nuts to reject at least pursuing it. If they offered that initially it is only a starting point.
  19. Yea I have to say, Murray seems unlikable to me, and Young doesn’t. I believe (right or wrong) that Young will watch film without being forced to, and probably understand it a little better too. Despite his physical superiority head to head I wouldn’t want Murray either, but if you are going to pick that size player go with the best tool set. Arm, speed, thicker build, all go Murray. I would pass on him too though.
  20. In fairness he hasn’t had a great environment with how many different ineffective QBs throwing to him. Even Cam, it was his decline and never got any better after with the others. Still hasn’t. How many different OCs and position coaches? Oh well, he has a few games to turn that around while Sanders is marinating.
  21. Yeah, there is something ominous underlying all of this that portends HOF for Eddie.
  22. Lol. You got no sense of humor. I really didn’t know any details about the city council I live a long way away. Yet I knew exactly what was being referenced. How does that make ME a bad guy?
  23. I don’t even know who they are nor have I watched to see who they are but I bet I heard that dog whistle. Cliches are cliches for a reason.
