Looking at colleges nowadays they aren’t teaching people the way they used to. I don’t think a college degree tells me much. Look at the grammatical and spelling errors in mainstream publications and tell me the standards haven’t slid. I have no doubt the same thing plagues the high schools so maybe having that college degree gets you above that I guess. You are either bright or you aren’t.

I think at ESPN you kowtow to their agenda and they leave you alone. It really isn’t merit based as much as people that manage stuff like that want to get it to where it runs itself and they don’t have to micro worry about it. This incident might get their attention. which, you don’t want if you are Newton (or another schlub doing the daily grind, you really just want to stay off their radar).
