Serious Thoughts Fellas What numbers would Bryce..
strato replied to trucpfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah, he gets credit for trying. He does. But I don't see any way he can really be a pocket QB because he is so damned short and small I don't feel like he can see the field without having throwing lanes like, between the tall people. And I never objected to his size, fragility wise - because I never made it that far to worry about that - but if he is gonna sack up and take the hits for stepping into the throws I don't know how long that will work. And I feel like Canales has to x out so many potential calls because of one limitation or the other; we don't have a fully diverse passing offense with him back there. It is limited. -
It would be, if that is how he is seen. I just want Canales to go get someone he thinks can do the job. If it is Jones or some guy we haven't thought of, it doesn't matter to me.

Apparently 126 or whatever it was passing will do it. And yeah it doesn't matter what I think either. -
Think that cat head is big enough?

If that Browns defense showed up like that they would kill us,

I can imagine drinks and pink slips being thrown. Worth noting though, Gettleman was gone when they gave Jones that contract. Pretty sure.

We finally get to see Brooks this week

Regarding Canales, looking for him to not be out coached is probably not the best criteria to go with. That is going to happen. This is Canales year of getting schooled. You learn later on if he is getting it. And it it probably isn’t a one year thing. He’ll be a sophomore next year, still facing professors. -

His passing chart needs to look like a good NFL quarterback. With no red dots and plenty of downfield completions. The team has to run an offense that doesn’t rely on screens and flairs and rollouts. I don’t think that is going to happen. -
I think he does not have to pass through waivers as a 4 year vet. That makes him a vested vet and he is released outright to free agency. So I don’t think there are contractual obligations attached. But I am frequently wrong about poo. This is too sudden for us to get involved I think, at least right away. Now watch that be wrong too.

I expect Nix to…. wait. A better way to put it is I don’t expect him to fail because of his obvious physical shortcomings, relative to playing NFL QB Yeah he is a rookie. Again. Okay, see the cope there? One thing has not changed. Young has a fraction (3/4, maybe?) of what these others have as far as a downfield game; no one is afraid he will throw it over their heads and they play him that way. And this is reflected in the way the offense is called, also. This is a big deal but no let’s ignore it. You can see the difference in the offense immediately with Dalton. it is so elemental to football but people want to stay blind to it because they like Bryce or whatever other reason.

What I take away from this is we need to find a Nix to develop. Period. I mean, it has nothing to do with Young who is about as developed as he'll ever be.

Other games 11/17, got some good ones today

The point is taken regarding down the round QBs doing well. The thing is that draft order is for all rounds. The higher the better obviously (fuging travesty about our 2nd rounder especially if it is number 33). For trading value if nothing else, which I what I'd want to do with a top 3 pick if we can get there. And get a later guy, and if you want to get back up somewhere you have the currency. -

That is why they took him over a 3rd or 4th round guy. I think. -

I think we are gonna see him take Sanders' snaps, basically. If he doesn't look better than that, whoa. -

There is a black cat, or there isn't. If there is, it keeps its ears open. -

The way I see that cat, it is waiting for a chance wherever it can see one. It would be glad to help us speak something into existence. -

I'm looking forward to seeing him for the first time for the eyeball test against pros. And this is a very good defense so it should be a test alright. -

I thought that I'd rather be up 6 than 5 once that FS happened. That way a TD only ties it and they have to make theirs. -

I looked at the radar just before kickoff and it showed rain not ice or snow. -

That field is heated. I wonder if they expected this to be snow. -

Grass field, high winds and precipitation will be going on. Probably an old fashioned slippery slugfest. I like it when they get their uniforms dirty. -

Carolina may not "be sold" on young (per athletic)
strato replied to Champagnepapi704's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nothing to concede, I wasn't arguing. Near total package in Cam, that also took the team to a SB. I think if I had to pick it has to be Cam but like I said, you take his running dominance out, then I'm taking pre surgery Jake. -

Jake was a SB QB and played better in it than Cam did. You have to elevate him. I get that Cam was better as a player but you take that running out of his game and I might put my money on Jake.
