  1. The real starts soon. The strongest survive and I am fine with that. I don’t have much attachment to these guys... I’m trying hard to find anyone really outside of Derrick, and it’s because no one can win poo. Luvu was a good one. Jewell could be too, a couple of guys here and there have more going. All the draft picks, I could attach if they thrived. Some I think will. Edit: I like Chuba too.
  2. Bolded number one: Yep most definitely and is why I was so worried about Young translating. Bolded number two: don’t forget the part time refs' part in all of it. They are the guardrails for the league. ----- I am pretty sure the league engineered Tepper in. JR was the fall guy. The stuff I posted with John Lynch saying Navarro contacted him, well he was in SF by ’17 someone pointed out. But Navarro obviously knew the team was for sale ahead of that if he was contacting Lynch, so what does that timeline look like? They want him (Tepper), so he’d have to really stop playing ball.
  3. I agree wholly on a lot of that but you know, Stroud is not Bryce. He is more what those guys might have had in common. Bryce is a unique puzzle by comparison. So I’m not sure at all that they would have been as dysfunctional and divided.
  4. Speaking of, I never watched that movie. Do I have to watch it so I can understand what they mean? I would consider it a chore.
  5. So what was it about do you think? If you have said so just point me there I must have missed it. edit: something did occur to me while digesting this thought and I just happened to have a brand new roll of tin foil. If someone were to leak this about Bryce (if it were true), they would never get access to anything and Tepper would buy their house and tear it down and build a Bryce statue on it.
  6. I think the term is Vested Veteran, maybe? My first hot take is, Panthers PR is the clown show. Don’t disagree with molehills being made into mountains but it doesn’t bother me much, not as much as the sunshine fluffers.
  7. I should have added, but they are coming to see him so you can’t do that.
  8. Sorry but I gotta raise a twisted narrative alert. I am not claiming that, never have. I am sure someone thinks what you are claiming but that person is an outlier. A small portion. My belief is that most people, by far, would not and did not make the claim you allege. They might agree with the below though. I am claiming he would have done better than Bryce did. Can’t prove it, but believe it. It is a simple and plain statement. Ooh, I should have said, I am not even about making that a thing right now because for one thing I think most people feel like it is a given. The other thing is we are about 2024. I should have just not said anything - but were I to need to make a claim, that would be it.
  9. I don’t think I want to hear Brown is a genius lol. You are right. He was in my list of people that did not help. But I shouldn’t and really am not making a huge thing of it because he was kind of a victim too.
  10. I used to sweep poo under the bed when company was coming...
  11. I think maybe this dichotomy between the teams trying to adapt with a new plan vs the successful ones not changing, might have to do with hey it worked for us why change. Might be some off that in there. And historically, history shows (who said that first? It’s a quote quiz) that innovators lead the way and you do not want to be a follower -in that you want to be with the leaders. If what they are doing differently leads to success those ‘old school’ team may find themselves playing catch up.
  12. Oh yeah you will. Don’t you know that Stroud would have been as bad as Bryce was had he come here? Get ready to be educated.
  13. I remember a debate over what a certain pass route was called, if it existed, went for days. edit: and Colin had some of the best insults. Rickles worthy sometimes. You could hate that he argued over almost everything and talked down to people but had to admire the creativity in those insults.
  14. Yeah that is what influences me to wish boom or bust. No middle, slightly hopeful ground that prolongs a resolution. Fish or cut bait as they say.
  15. I was on it. Some people here I recognize from there. Mr Scot I am pretty sure for one,.
  16. I have a couple of boats. Haven’t used them in nearly 5 years because I had some heavy family responsibilities with a parent. Going to hopefully get one of the boats ready for winter trout fishing. Hit me up if you are down in a few months we’ll go.
  17. Y’all don’t think 17 games will be enough to evaluate Young? Not enough chance for him to establish his viability? Or maybe you fear that losing those first two games is what causes us to miss the playoffs? I don’t have those worries.
  18. Thanks. They are nice people, I have met them. I see they do a great business which normally means they make the food right, but haven’t been there to eat. I catch my own in that inlet and it spoils you. I haven’t been to Mrs Lee’s in 7 or 8 years.
  19. Well, I am not saying it was good. I remember the 2001 season too. You can call it recency bias, whatever, I am far more dissatisfied now than I was then. Which probably has to do with the: there was hope given immediately. We went 7-9 with Rodney Peete in 2002. Have we even sniffed 7-9 with Tepper? Yeah, the first year that he stayed totally out of the football side, 7-9. Once once with Wilks, 7-10, who was shown the door lol. You know the win totals from the other Tepper years, I know, but here they are: 2019, 2020, 2021, 5 each season. 2 last year. It has been horrible and last year was the lowest. Tepper’s 2001. You think we are going 7-9 type level this year? Maybe we could. But there is a tiny percentage of people who would believe it. It’s is pretty sad when we are down to arguing what was worse.
  20. We are probably better off getting young guys the experience, isn’t that what teams that have little chance of winning this year should be doing?
  21. People don’t generally like change, to start with. They try to act as though things did not change until they are hit in the face with the reality that things did in fact change (and) they have to change too. This all about a rethinking because poo for sure changed with the preseason.
  22. As far as owners starting off bad, JR for all his faults had us in the NFCCG year two. He very nearly fulfilled his pledge of a SB in the first ten years. Now we have the next guy thinking he can take a season to look at the football side and fix it. And he hasn’t done anything but make it worse. Even if he is earnestly trying his best, it is what it is.
  23. Well. what they should be very afraid of is Young getting booed off the field because the fans are not buying it at the price they want to sell it for. Someone was telling me basically that I had no say, it doesn’t matter what I think because it is not my call to make. That call can be taken out of the team’s hands with enough fan displeasure. It is the only way fans can influence something. Coach, QB, whatever. You get the stadium booing enough and they would be forced to respond. I am not advocating that, I am pointing that they are aware and working to forestall that until such time as Young may be able to win some people over. Cause they are losing people from their corner, right and left.
  24. This part, yeah. Probably close to the truth but to understand the hostility, those team officials clearly claimed what they claimed. I won’t cite it incorrectly going off my memory but everyone should remember the stuff Reich, Fitterer, Tepper, and others were talking. He was oversold, and that doesn’t breed trust. Being lied to breeds resentment. Plain and simple. People are giving him a chance this year even if they lack faith because they pretty much have to.
