  1. *a new contender in the Arch Manning sweepstakes enters* Can anyone remember this much hype for a guy who rode the pine behind a 7th round pick for two years? It's pretty wild. If his last name was anything other than Manning everyone would've forgotten about this kid by now and he'd have to be reintroduced this fall as the #1 QB recruit from a few years back.
  2. Preseason strength of schedule means as much as draft grades. It's all projection that could prove fairly accurate or wildly incorrect once the games start.
  3. I wouldn't even call him a tremendous football player. He was a guy way overdrafted and way overpaid for years when he had the allure of "potential". Now that that's gone he's just been getting treated like the JAG that he is.
  4. Being a hot chick has always been a potentially super lucrative gig.
  5. Clowney's resume reads: Hit a Michigan RB really hard that one time. Drafted #1 overall. Never had a double digit sack season. Started on the worst defense in NFL history. Oh, did I mention he got a Michigan RB really hard that one time?
  6. It ain't a talent issue. Dude's talent was off the charts. Just seems like he never had the drive to be great. Was always willing to just rest in his talent and settle for being good. He definitely COULD'VE been great.
  7. True. He never came close to living up to his #1 overall pick status but he's still a decent roster piece. He shouldn't be getting bounced around like he does unless there's a non-football reason for it. Probably still carries that #1 overall pick entitlement without producing the results.
  8. And honestly, they did him a favor. If they knew they were going to cut him they could've carried him into camp waiting on some other team to have an injury issue or something and for the opportunity to trade him to potentially present itself before cutting him at final roster cuts where his options elsewhere would likely be more limited. You're way better off getting cut now than getting cut then.
  9. I mean, I get being pissed. Getting fired sucks. But if he wasn't wanted in the building there's probably a reason for it on his end. I mean, he's a decent vet and didn't carry a huge cap hit so if they were in a hurry to jettison him it kinda feels like they didn't want him around our newly drafted edge rushers.
  10. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/18a7H7wNXE/ Lost it on "some fuging barn animal of a woman" LOLOLOLOL
  11. The school is denying it but do they have any other choice? I mean, even if it's true it's such a poo show you'd HAVE to deny it. LOL
  12. He may have been. I just pulled that off of PFF. Honestly haven't been paying much attention.
  13. Yeah, I just haven't been impressed. Most NFL coaches can do a good job if given great pieces to fit their schemes but the great ones can tailor their schemes to fit the pieces that they have available. The Panthers haven't had any great ones. We've had a bunch of square pegs in round holes type of guys and every now and then we've assembled the right pegs to field some legit squads. Now with that said, what Canales was able to do after Bryce returned from his benching was pretty damn impressive. That actually gives me some hope we might have found a head coach.
  14. And no 73 year old rich dude is dating a 24 year old good looking woman for her great conversation. LOL! They're both getting what they want out of this "arrangement", old Bill just needs to wake up and realize that he can get what he wants with a lot less baggage.
  15. I've been warning folks to prepare for Moehrig to be misused as a primarily deep safety this year precisely because of this.
  16. A guy who threw for 2500 yards for a barely over .500 Sun Belt team. I sure hope not.
  17. Seriously. I think we're gonna have to hope that this 4* QB recruit is another Howell who shows up ready to go from day one because I don't know who the fug is playing QB if he's not.
  18. I don't think it has anything to do with Chinn. I mean, Chinn was a LB/safety tweener where Walker is am EDGE/LB tweener. Really different players and how we used Chinn was really kinda forced on us by our roster. He wasn't good in a deep safety role but he was the best option we had. Now I would argue that we should've still used Chinn where he was most effective but that's just me. I don't see how you're making a D better by misusing one of your better talents. It does seem like the Raiders are finally starting to use him how he should be used if you're going to play him at safety.
  19. It makes sense. I mean, the edge guys we drafted do have prototypical 3-4 OLB measurables and by all accounts post-draft T-Mac was by far and away everyone WR1 so it's not hard to believe that the Panthers just saw better value going that way. I think it's likely that Walker was plan B if T-Mac was gone and in that case we were going to definitely strongly consider offers to trade down.
  20. I wonder when Bill's kid is gonna step in and try to jerk his old man in line? I mean, it always felt like Bill taking this gig was primarily about setting up a nepo-pipeline to land his kid the job long-term. Now the gold digger is trying to fug it all up.
  21. Bill, you don't pay them for the "service". You're paying them to shut up and leave.
  22. Corporate spending is the absolute worst. Now if you're just a regular person near the bottom of the totem pole you'll have every dime scrutinized painstakingly. But the folks in the C suite? Yeah, they can spend like drunken sailors on shore leave on the dumbest, most wasteful poo imaginable. Basically stuff like this. I mean, at the end of the day we're just animals. The peacock struts around showing off his beautiful tail feathers to get laid and we work ourselves to death to get money to piss it away on dumb stuff to impress people so that hopefully we can get laid. Just because we're the smartest animals on this rock doesn't really mean anything, at the end of the day we're still just dumbass animals doing the same thing all the other dumbass animals do.
  23. At the end of the day, I wish 'em luck. If they can find a market, good for them. I just hope they know what they're signing up for. Transitioning from being an everyman's fan club having some home bars scattered around the country and throwing some bashes is a helluva lot different game than trying to jump into the elite luxury experience. I honestly don't think you can pull off both, you gotta do one or the other. Neither group wants anything to do with the other. The former sounds fun. The latter... I think I'd rather slam my dick in a car door than hear some nepobaby whining about some poo that makes me want to throw him out the door of the private jet at 35k feet.
