  1. We'll see. Meanwhile we passed on a rookie All-Pro LT because his arms were an inch too short.
  2. Well, let's be honest... JC Horn wasn't a good decision so I'm not sure why you're hanging your hopes on that
  3. I'd rather pick another backup long snapper than Kenny Pickett. That's barely an exaggeration.
  4. So we wasted that 6th round pick on a long snapper.
  5. His whole career might not be his entire rookie contract. Pickett is gonna bust hard. He's the beneficiary of an extra year due to COVID and being surrounded by an above average team in a very down ACC. He's the age of most 2nd or 3rd year pros. He's average to below average in every facet for an NFL QB. He gets rattled easily. The dude got shook by a measuring tape at the Senior Bowl for god's sake. At least with Willis you have top shelf physical talent. With Strong you have a big time arm. With Howell you have a dual threat guy who has had to carry an offense. With Corral you have a live arm and proven production against top college teams. Pickett is the guy with first round talk who has the least upside IMO. I honestly think his ceiling is good backup. Don't draft a poor man's Teddy Bridgewater in the first. Good grief.
  6. No. Smitty would be an awful coach and I think with age he probably has the self awareness to realize that.
  7. If it's not QB or LT, we should be trading down. Given the lack of 2nd and 3rd round picks, I'd be inclined to sit and wait and listen to offers while I'm on the clock regardless of who was available. You have your allotted time. Use it.
  8. Tepper will either have to offer record breaking money or we'll be forced to pick through the leftovers. Hell, maybe both. Word is gonna be out. This is the late stage Al Davis Raiders. If you're an up and coming or in your prime coach or player, stay the fug away. This is where you go to cash in one one last payday opportunity.
  9. Oh, I fully expect us to make a colossal mistake at QB this off-season. An absolute all-timer. We've made dumb decision after dumb decision at QB since Rhule was hired each being dumber and more desperate than the last. It all feels like it's setting the stage for a Herschel Walker trade level or Sean Gilbert franchise tag sign away level bombshell of a fug up this year. Will we end up trading UP to take Pickett? Don't rule anything out with this dumbass.
  10. Top talent evaluators of teams needing a QB: "Hey y'all, think we can get that dumbass to actually draft Kenny Pickett #6 overall?"
  11. It's going to take years to dig ourselves out of this Rhule hole and that's assuming Tepper actually makes a smart hire post-Rhule which is an assumption based on absolutely blind hope.
  12. It wouldn't be surprising at all. Most teams go all in to build around a young franchise QB once they land one.
  13. Not always true. Some companies really do suck in terms of pay, benefits, etc. Those companies usually also tend to have shitty bosses and the few good ones are desperately looking for something else. Then the company trots out that line to blame their people for not being able to retain workers because that's what bad places to work do - they find someone else to blame. Just like Matt Rhule.
  14. Folks with a future GTFO while the gettin's good while over the hill folks rush in for one last paycheck before hitting the links.
  15. It's almost like everyone knows Rhule should've already been fired. Everyone that is except for David Tepper.
  16. Same. Because if it's truly the case and Rhule wants to trade away the future of the franchise on some half-witted quick turnaround scheme, well we're good and truly fuged. Even if Rhule gets fired we'll be hamstrung in our pursuit of a new coach because our roster building capital is going to be gutted.
  17. Looks like a deer in headlights. He should fit right in.
  18. I think this is highly likely still the full on Matt Rhule show and will be until Tepper eventually sacks up and fires him. When that happens, Fitterer should follow him out the door. I honestly don't want any part in a "GM" willing to put his reputation on the line for a job that's in essence in title only while trying to baby sit a college coach with final say on everything. Maybe he thought he could have more influence over Rhule once he was in the building? Maybe he assumed Rhule would be more willing to listen to someone with real NFL experience. Either way, he was wrong and he can GTFO too as far as I'm concerned.
  19. I think everyone already knew that. I think some folks were just holding out hope that after two seasons of colossal failure that maybe that dynamic had been shifted somewhat. I mean, I'm not surprised that it hasn't but there was definitely some cause for hope that maybe it had. Tepper really is still all in on Matt Rhule. This would be like Tepper putting all of his hedgefund into a tanking penny stock with awful financials and no clear pathway towards financial success. How long do you think his investors would've stuck with him in that scenario? Well, we're the "investors" in this scenario and Tepper has no track record of success to lean on in the football world. In the football word, he's basically a Redditor in his mom's basement who still has his entire life savings tied up in GameStop stock.
  20. Depending on how long it's been since ole Matty got laid, Mrs. Rhule likely has final say on whatever she wants.
  21. And it's important to note Chip Kelly didn't completely go off the rails until he wrestled full control away from whoever the GM was at the time, I can't remember who.
  22. There are very few HCs with final roster say in the league and most of those guys earned it through years of demonstrated success. Then there's Matt Rhule.
  23. Bingo. I will honestly be surprised if Rhule doesn't truly fug us over this offseason trading future assets in a desperately reckless attempt to win now.
