The worst with a clean pocket, the worst in the red zone…
LinvilleGorge replied to AceBoogie's topic in Carolina Panthers
As long as Darnold turns out fine it'll be fine. Yeah, it would've been awesome to have a good QB on a rookie contract for the next 4-5 years, but it is what it is. Just gotta hope Darnold performs - something that I'm admittedly extremely doubtful about. -

We'll have to see how it plays out. But this attitude that it doesn't matter even if Fields turns out to be the GOAT is hilarious. If midway through next season Fields looks like he's back at OSU while Darnold looks like he's back in NY, oh... it's gonna matter. -

Does every QB thread have to turn into Cam whataboutism? -

Yeah, we know. Darnold was trash in NY. We're hoping he won't be trash here. We'll see. -
Jets asst coach in critical condition after bike accident
LinvilleGorge replied to ladypanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
CO completely turned me off of road cyclists sympathy. They built a dedicated bike lane on Squaw Pass right by my house after years of vehicle/bike issues. Cyclists were riding two and three abreast on a very steep curvy road and it was downright dangerous. So, they built a dedicated bike lane and out "please ride single file" signs up. Well, nothing changed. Many of the cyclists kept riding two and three abreast and refusing to use the bike lane. There was zero enforcement. There are plenty of responsible, courteous cyclists out there but there are enough entitled assholes on bikes for me to not give a single care about catering to building special use lanes for them (unless that is going to actually be enforced in which case I'm all for it), especially while they're contributing $0 to road maintenance -

This is my problem with road cyclists. They want to take everything but give nothing. Build bike lanes, build bike paths! Hey, how about a small registration fee to help build/maintain those things? OUTRAGE! Share the road they say while riding three abreast and conveniently deciding whether they'll conduct themselves as a vehicle or as a pedestrian depending on which is convenient for them at the time. The reality is that bikes are considered vehicles when operating on a public road. Yes, they should pay a fee just like any other vehicle. -

Start registering bikes like vehicles for street usage and apply those dollars directly to improvements for bike usage. -
Congrats. Inductions can also move SUPER fast. My wife was induced with our first in the early AM. We anticipated kiddo to arrive by dinner time. I was holding my newborn baby daughter while watching for kickoff of a UNC football game that started at noon. Noon eastern time (10am for us in CO). She was in labor less than an hour.

He's definitely had significant durability issues since becoming a full-time starting QB. -

The biggest thing the 49ers have going for them is that they still have Jimmy G. They won't be forced to play Lance before he's ready. If Jimmy G can stay healthy, they could end up flipping him for decent trade bait too. -

He's REALLY raw as a passer to draft him that highly, especially with a very costly trade up to boot. We'll see how it works out. -
I've seen some compare him to George Kittle coming out of college. Yeah, that'll work for me.

I don't know what it was. I think it may have just been as simple as bad info. One analyst with a good rep got a bad tip and everyone else just ran with it. I mean, if you're the Niners you're not gonna go out of your way to correct it. I just don't see how anyone with knowledge of what Shanny likes in QBs ever bought the Jones talk. Shanny loves mobile QBs. -
He's basically the exact opposite of the typical college TE these days. Most are basically jumbo slot receivers who are going to have to learn to block and play inline. This guy is ready to go as a blocker and needs to improve his receiving skills. Between him and Arnold we should have a good balanced combo.

This. I never understood it but it sure seemed like virtually everyone thought the Niners were taking Jones. Lance or Fields just seemed like the guys in this draft that would have Shanny drooling (outside of Lawrence who everyone knew was going #1 overall). -

Kawann Short cleared for football activities

Just not a need. We have young players who need the snaps to improve. If he was say a FS I might feel differently. -
It's possible. Tepper will eventually run out of patience waiting on them to find a QB. He knows this is a QB driven league.

That's the thing about rumors, even from good sources. Not all of them are gonna pan out. It's still fun and something to talk about. -

I haven't seen that from Darnold. Don't mistake panic flailing with trying to make plays no matter what. I've seen a lot of panic flailing from Darnold.

We went with what we thought was the "safe vet" option with Teddy. We saw where that got us. So now we're going the opposite direction with the "boom or bust vet". If this backfires then I think this staff is going to have to get over their seeming aversion to rookie QBs because I think they'll be down to their last swing at QB. Three strikes and you're out.
