  1. When they gave Hill that ridiculous contract they kinda backed themselves into a corner on this one. They pretty much have to have him outright fail as the starting QB. They should go with Jameis and use Hill ad the same gimmick player he has been. So sure, roll with Hill. Sweet.
  2. I honestly forgot the Mac Jones stuff. Yeah, she was wildly off on that one. But she's always said that she only has one source and we're basically being fed what one non-Panthers team scout is telling her.
  3. "Everything" being 24 claimed incidents of sexual assault? I mean, you gotta admit that's one helluva monkey wrench to be thrown into a situation.
  4. Nah, it'll take 5-6 games. Gotta wait until opposing DCs have film of him in our system to study.
  5. I agree but the thing of it is that virtually every highly drafted QB is stepping into a dumpster fire. They're drafting that kid in hopes that he plays a huge role in helping them out of the dumpster. I mean, we were certainly dumpster fire status when we drafted Cam. The Browns were when they drafted Mayfield. The Bengals were last year when they drafted Burrow. The Cardinals were when they drafted Murray. And on and on.
  6. I hope we give him two years if he earns a second year with his first year's performance. One thing that gives me hope that we won't get stuck in purgatory with Darnold is how quickly we were willing to move on from Teddy. I just don't know how much of that decision had to do with Teddy throwing the staff under the bus later in the season after missing a wide open DJ in the endzone. Was it the primary reason (or a symptom of the primary reason - that being that Teddy proved to be less coachable than they hoped)? Was it the straw that broke the camel's back and confirmed the direction they were already leaning? Or, did it have no impact at all? If I was a betting man, I'd bet on scenario B but that's just a hunch. The organizational PR stance on Teddy certainly took a pretty obvious turn after that, that's for sure so I really don't think it's scenario C. If it's scenario A then I have some serious concerns about the egos on the staff.
  7. Definitely agree with this. I can envision a scenario where Darnold can be the answer. Quite frankly I don't think the odds of that are all that good, but they are there. With Teddy, I just didn't see that at all and that's why I was so adamantly against that move. To be fair, I was adamantly against this move as well but I do see some potential for it actually working out where with Teddy I saw none.
  8. All we can do is wait and see. My expectations and hope are pretty low. We've beat the horse to death in terms of talking about it. I'll be very pleasantly surprised if I'm proven wrong.
  9. Put up big numbers... without the accompanying big turnover numbers. If Jameis wasn't so equal opportunity with his passes he'd be a great QB.
  10. I can see any team that doesn't have a cemented legit franchise QB going after him. I'm not familiar enough with the other teams to predict whether or not Watson's situation would put them out of the market for him. Hell, I'm not familiar enough with Tepper to predict whether or not it will for us.
  11. It'll be very interesting to see what his market looks like. There will undoubtedly be some teams who opt out due to the off field issues and the definite baggage and PR issues he'll bring with him. But, 25 year old MVP caliber QBs simply don't become available. Those guys never hit the market, via FA or via trade. They're just too valuable to give up. So, ultimately I doubt his trade value is significantly impacted. The number of suitors will be down but will still be numerous enough that his overall value will likely be protected. That's just my prediction on it.
  12. That's the thing, any trade would be months away after this situation is sorted out and he serves out his suspension while on the Texans' roster. We will have a pretty good idea of what we have (or don't have) in Darnold by that time. By that time, we very well could be desperate. Again.
  13. It would take a LOT of background research on the Panthers' part to make me even close to comfortable to making a deal for Watson at this point and I was ALL for it prior to half the female massage therapists on the planet accusing him of some form of sexual impropriety.
  14. Public land access is always push and pull. I'm an off-roader, mountain biker, and hiker. Everyone bitched about the irresponsible SXS and dirt bike riders. Yeah, they suck. BUT, if you're a Jeeper or mountain biker, don't think that the hikers won't be coming after you and your access once your relationship of convenience has gotten the SXSs and dirt bikes banned from the trails. I loved all the off-roading CO had to offer but I hate how crowded it got over the years. Places I'd go and never see another person 15 years ago turned into a Disneyland feel over the past five years. So, I sold and left.
  15. Slye has always been a big legged inconsistent kicker. That will likely continue.
  16. Hopefully Moton but if I was betting money I'd bet on Erving being the day one starter at LT.
  17. Honestly, nothing. It's not like a loss to his former team would derail what would've otherwise been a wildly successful career resurrection. He's either gonna bounce back or he's not.
  18. It very well could be. We'll have to wait out the details. It very well could be a four year extension on top of the franchise tag which would put him under contract for 5 years.
  19. I'd just like to take a moment to LOL @ PFT for this. They put out an article earlier today predicting none of the outstanding franchise tagged players would reach deals prior to the deadline and didn't even mention Moton as one of their long shot probables.
  20. It definitely helps with transmissibility too. A lot.
  21. That was pre-delta variant numbers. Delta is about to be the dominant variant in the U.S. Honestly, it probably already is.
  22. The Pfizer vaccine is significantly less effective against transmission the delta variant. An Israeli study found it 64% effective. But it was still highly effective against serious symptomatic disease.
