  1. I think it's possible. Improved coverage could potentially help a lot. Everyone focuses on how much a pass rush helps a secondary but the reverse is true as well.
  2. He's the one guy rooting for Judge Smails while watching Caddyshack.
  3. WFT or bust. The Rivera/Hurney combo has always been his only hope of making a final roster.
  4. Your logic is very one sided. It's fine for the team to exercise their leverage, but the player is juvenile to exercise his. A psychologist would have a field day with you. Enjoy your day of caddying.
  5. Seems likely. When there are multiple players unhappy something is usually amiss in the organization or within the locker room.
  6. What other team has multiple key players voicing displeasure? Sure, there are always some vets angling for new deals or otherwise expression displeasure across the league every year, but when there are multiple key players on one team something is probably up.
  7. It should be. We have more questions than answers right now. The depth chart will be throughout the preseason as we try to find our best five and our roster will likely be fluid as other teams start to make cuts. There's probably at least one OL that is on our final roster that is starting camp somewhere else today.
  8. So if the team offers a player say a five year contract, I want to see you howling like crazy when the player is cut after three years because the team did not fulfill their end of the bargain. Teams have the ability to terminate contracts. Players have the ability to utilize the media and threaten holdouts. That's the way this works.
  9. An acknowledgement that the only avenue a player has is to utilize whatever leverage he may hold. The team will always hold the leverage of being able to terminate the contract. Barking to the media, threatening to hold out, actually holding out, up and retiring like Barry Sanders or Calvin Johnson. That's the only real leverage a player holds yet you act like they've committed this grave dishonor by actually utilizing any of that leverage.
  10. What are the sources on those reports? Anything credible? Not being an ass, legit question.
  11. Yep. Basically. Like you said, it's an oversimplification, but it's the basic gist of it.
  12. Aside from the colic months, 100% agreed. I wouldn't wish a colic baby on my worst enemy after having lived it.
  13. Nope. Most fans don't understand this concept. That guaranteed bonus money is already paid out. The only new money a player gets is from being on the roster. Just because the bonus money is prorated across the length of the contract and hits the cap in future years doesn't mean that's when it's actually paid out. Salary, roster bonuses, workout bonuses, escalators, etc. are not paid out if/when the player is released. Signing bonus is the only thing that matters and that was paid out upon signing.
  14. Xavien Howard reports to Dolphins camp after holding out of mandatory mini camp trying to get a new contract. Sizzle be like
  15. The guy just gets off on people being forced to submit to authority. It's bizarre. 100% chance his hard drive is full of some really fuged up BDSM porn.
  16. But if a team decides to terminate the contract you have no issue with that. If the player attempts to utilize his leverage (because he CAN'T terminate the contract) you howl like crazy. Bizarre.
  17. Honestly, the NCAA should just fug right the fug off. Major college football and basketball masquerading as "amateur athletics" is a farce literally no one believes. Everyone involved is making bank except the actual players. The highest paid public employee in nearly every state is a college football or basketball coach at a public university.
  18. The NFL has non-guaranteed contracts. They HEAVILY favor the team. You just love watching people having to bend the knee to authority figures.
  19. We paid CMC a ton and a lot of Samuel's usage in our offense is somewhat redundant with CMC. I get letting him walk. You can't pay a 4th option $10M+ per season. We've already paid CMC. We're gonna pay Moore. We drafted Marshall to take over Anderson's role moving forward. We drafted Shi Smith to hopefully take over the slot role moving forward. Overall, I like the plan at WR both from a talent perspective and a cap management perspective.
  20. You just seem to get off on power/authority. Usually that's held by the wealthiest person but not always. Players get cut all the time when teams decide they're no longer worth their contracts but let a player angle for more or attempt to use any leverage they may hold in any way and you go on one of your rants. It's bizarre.
  21. It's definitely still important, but this becomes more and more of a QB driven league every year.
  22. And true. It amazes me how many folks think Hurney is running the show -- couldn't be further from the truth. Hurndog doesn't have the authority to pull the trigger on ANYTHING without the approval of Tepper and/or Rhule. For those of you who may watch Billions...Tepper is Axe...Rhule is Dollar Bill (a portfolio manager with limited trading authority)...Hurndog is a supporting analyst with no trading authority (unless it is co-brokered with Rhule and doesn't exceed Rhule's size limits). This "strong man" obsession he has is just bizarre.
  23. I don't put a whole lot of stock into PFF. With our OL signings, it looks like we targeted guys who were good at certain things and just weren't great all around. This could (hopefully) imply that we finally have a staff that will actually scheme around their talent instead of trying to force square pegs into their round hole system.
  24. He was signed because our OGs suck. He's probably not great, but he's better than what we had.
