  1. I'd be very leery of giving Lamar $40M+ per season. These dud playoff performances have become the norm for him. He's 1-3 in the playoffs now. His completion percentage is almost 10 percentage points lower in the playoffs. He's only thrown 18 regular season INTs in 46 regular season games but he's thrown 5 in 4 playoff games vs. a mere 3 TDs. He only has one playoff game where he completed over 60% of his attempts and it's the only one the Ravens actually won - in large part because their D absolutely shut down the league leading opposing RB.
  2. There's no way I'd make that trade. We'd still be in the same place of having one tackle and needing another one. Moton has shown promise at LT in the past too. Another thing to consider is that playing well at LT in the Ravens' offense isn't automatically translatable to other systems. They run less traditional passing plays than any other team in the league, probably a lot less. They were last in the league in pass attempts, completions, and yards.
  3. I can't see a 24 year old OT coming off of a Pro Bowl season at LT getting traded for a 3rd rounder. If we could get him for a 3rd that's a complete no brainier IMO.
  4. IMO, if QB doesn't work out for us we almost HAVE to trade down. But I'm not trading down for current draft capital. I'm trading for '22 draft capital and I want a 1st. The rebuild will have officially been delayed a year and we need to tool up to go after a guy (Howell or Rattler) in '22. Take a flier on a non-1dt round QB and hope he pans out. Meanwhile, we're probably looking at another year of misery with Teddy and reminiscing of that glorious win over the WFT.
  5. If lack of loyalty pisses you off, you might as well quit watching the NFL. There's very, very little. If Watson is traded to a better situation, he has a better situation and he still has his contract. He's not trying to be another Archie Manning putting up great numbers for sorry teams and I don't blame him. A lot of fans also tend to forget how young a lot of these guys are. Watson is 25. He's a kid. He doesn't realize that, but he will in another 15 years or so when he looks back at which point he'll be retired. Athletes work on a completely different timeline than your average person. They're career is a lot shorter. They'll still be young in life when they're retired from this game. Watson has every right to demand a trade. The Texans have every right to try to convince him to honor his contract. And here we are. If he wants out bad enough, he'll get out. The Texans will get offers that will be more valuable to them than a highly disgruntled player in their locker room. This is the way these things always play out.
  6. So many fans forget this is a business for these guys too. Cam didn't force his way out, but he was forced out when the organization's mismanagement of his career led to ongoing injury issues. That's the thing, loyalty in this game gets you nowhere. You'll be shown none as a player when the shoe is on the other foot.
  7. I could see making a play for #3 if Wilson is there, but yeah #6 would be the easier jump to get ahead of Detroit.
  8. Trubisky is better than Teddy but as far as I'm concerned, we've already tried that mid-level vet QB route. Go big or go home. Swing a trade for a proven franchise QB (basically Watson or Stafford) or target a guy in the 1st and go get him. Trubisky or Mac Jones... just GTFO with that.
  9. "Coachin' 'em up" doesn't work at certain positions though. You can coach up and hide subpar talent within the scheme at certain spots, but QB isn't one of them.
  10. You don't necessarily have to be intelligent to be a helluva football coach. Hell, look at Dabo Swinney.
  11. I would take Goff for a conditional 7th as long as they also kicked in a 1st.
  12. If he delivers us Howell like Clausen delivered us Cam, then it'll be a helluva pick.
  13. I think his best case scenario is somewhere around Kirk Cousins-ish. Basically Teddy with the balls to maximize his abilities. That's not good enough.
  14. I doubt that. If he gets moved it'll be before the draft, but there's still a month and a half before he can actually be traded so might as well use that time to try to work things out.
  15. LOL! His own teammates have reportedly been telling him to force his way out. The Texans are a fuging dumpster fire. Andre Johnson (longtime great Texans WR) has been tweeting about how he should GTFO of that organization.
  16. It was always going to get ugly. The Texans don't want to move a 25 year old elite franchise QB. If he's going to get moved they're going to force him to be the bad guy so they can spin it to their fanbase that they moved him because they want guys who want to be there. Trade compensation won't be an issue. He's a 25 year old elite franchise QB. Those guys just don't become available. There will be no shortage of potential suitors.
  17. Front office personnel being replaced shortly after the hiring of a new GM? What about this seems odd?
  18. This is where it gets fun. We have a good old fashioned wild west showdown. This isn't in the least bit shocking. The Texans aren't going to give up and move Watson without a fight and even if they're already seeing that it's inevitable, their best public position right now is to put up this front both for their fanbase and to send the message to teams wanting to approach them that they better come with an offer too good to refuse.
  19. Yep. Cam was great but he's gone and he's not coming back and injuries look to have derailed his career. Watson is 25 and in his prime and IS great and he's available. Cam is my favorite Panther of all-time and it'll be hard for anyone to eclipse him, but he's in the past. It is what it is.
  20. Any leakiness likely comes from the Houston side of the table. It's absolutely in their best interest.
  21. I doubt Mahomes will try to force a trade here either, but I guess we can hope.
  22. There hasn't been any trustworthy reports that this is the case or likely to become the case though. Most "trustworthy" rumors indicate that surprisingly the Jets are his preferred destination. There have been some whispers that he might be open to the idea of Carolina, but nothing that indicates he's ready to take a stand and try to force that move. Sounds to me like he's probably given the Texans an idea of the teams he'd like to go to or at least the teams he will refuse and he's at least somewhat open to multiple options. What could give us an advantage here is that we're an NFC team.
