This. Guard is settled with two huge investments. Sometimes with guys with position versatility it's more about team need given the roster makeup and positional value than it is where they would be maximally best suited. I mean, Jordan Gross was a very good LT but he would've probably been a HOF RT. It's just that we needed a LT and a very good LT is still more valuable than a HOF RT.

I mean, let's be real... Aaron Rodgers is basically the OC. There's nothing he's asking for offensively that isn't being implemented. I just don't know why so many people were convinced a 40 year old future 1st ballot HOF QB coming off an Achilles injury was going to magically transform an offense with plenty of other problems. That always struck me as a considerable long shot of a bet.
-
Probably not but they might as well find out. Rodgers was clearly a win now move so if your current coach isn't helping with that and you know you're ready to move on going forward you might a well move on now and hope for a spark from new leadership. I get the move. It makes sense for them given their situation.

I mean, he's 20-36 overall. It's clearly not working.

Just FYI Morganton is red on this but I'd honestly classify it as yellow. All the major roads are open and pretty much all the businesses that are open are going to have power. Lots of businesses are closed because they got flooded out. Just look at a map. If it's within 100 yards or so of a stream you can assume it's going to be closed indefinitely.

What type of vapes are you talking about? I don't smoke at all anymore but I don't use the prepackaged vapes either. It's all dry herb vaporizers for me these days. I'd be very cautious leaving the rez with anything. The surrounding doughnut eaters will lose interest fast but decent chance it's still pretty too of mind.

The Chiefs have serious issues at OT. There's no sugarcoating it.

Jawaan Taylor is legit Byron Bell level terrible.

I'm not Bryce Young level football savant, but I think that if you have four guys covering one receiver some other guys had to be wide ass open. Carr didn't get the memo.

Drafting Quality From 2019-2023(It could actually be worse)
LinvilleGorge replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
I get what you're saying. You're not getting what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that number of 18 would be significantly lower if we had a decent roster because a lot of them are straight trash and would be cut on a better team. -

You know you're staying the obvious here, right? Yeah, the teams with the highest number of games played per draft pick are naturally going to have late round picks that hung around longer. What I'm saying is as bad as our ranking looks it's still skewed by the reality that our trash roster means that drafted guys who are mega ass still hang around longer than they would on a decent roster -

It's not great metric to be honest. We just suck so bad that our drafted trash sticks around where as they'd just get cut most other places with better rosters. -
Scouting Department vs. Front Office
LinvilleGorge replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not sure if the scouts suck or they're just not being listened to. You can have the best scouts in the world but it doesn't do any good if the idiots actually making the call disregard them and go with their own gut call. -
With both the Panthers and the Heels I've reached the point of total football fandom apathy.

If we could stack the box and stop the run we'd do it. You have to be able to do one or the other. But when an opposing offense can just do whatever they want and keep you off balance you're cooked. You gotta be able to take something away from them

I've always liked Fields but the way he's been playing tonight I honestly don't know why the Steelers were in such a rush to get him back out there. After Kyle Allen hit on that 20 yard pass if I was Tomlin I would've gotten word to the medical team to be "very thorough" with this evaluation.
-
Until you put restrictions on his ability to just simply outspend the competition. He should've bought an MLB team.
-
It'd be one thing if just the pass rush was lacking but we can't stop the run either. When you can't stop the run and you can't rush the passer you're cooked. That's the whole ballgame on defense. You absolutely can't afford to suck at both.
-
I always liked Kyle Allen. He's not a long-term answer as a starter but he's a good backup or bridge guy. Honestly, he just made the best throw for the Steelers so far tonight. I would've been tempted to roll with him the way Fields has looked tonight. Though Fields looks reenergized after coming back in
-
That was the big concern I had about him at USC. He has a tendency to hold the ball forever. Considering our defense that doesn't really matter. We'll let you. Just throw when you're comfortably and good and ready. LOL
