Yeah, I don't think he's going to be able to stick with Darnold no matter what. The good thing is that I don't think he has any real desire to. If I had to place a bet on our most likely starting QB this coming season, my money might be on Baker Mayfield. I don't think we're done snooping around these vets just yet.

Brandon Smith probably has the clearest pathway to significant PT given our weakness at LB and it being a position that lends itself to rotational/situational play.

Please God let it be Corral.

My pond is spring fed, largely shaded, and deep. It's only about an acre but it's 30 feet deep. It stays cold so the turtles are really only active a few months out of the year. They only emerged for the summer about two weeks ago. They'll disappear for the winter the first cool snap in the fall.

Realistic Expectations for 4th-7th Rounders

I would not be shocked if there were some folks when we drafted Amini that were legit like -
Realistic Expectations for 4th-7th Rounders

I was specifically talking about the Hurney era. 2nd round busts we're very much the norm. Guys like Kalil were very much outliers for Hurney. -

Ah hell, I'm so numb to throwing away 2nd round picks from the Hurney era that 2nd round busts barely even register to me anymore. -

Mid to late round picks are where you draft those types of guys. There are no picture perfect prospects left. You looking at good players who lack ideal measurables or you're looking at great athletes who are really raw as football players... or you're looking at off field concerns - character red flags or injury issues. -
Realistic Expectations for 4th-7th Rounders

I guess according to me 3rd rounders don't exist. Nah, 3rd rounders I'm hoping for a future starter but expecting at least high quality depth and/or a quality rotational or subpackage player. -

It's especially perplexing because of how good he looked in camp and preseason. Honestly, he looked like possibly the best rookie WR in the league in preseason. Then... basically he just disappeared. -

Here's the way I breakdown draft picks... Top 10 picks I'm expecting a star. Period. 1st rounders and 2nd rounders I'm looking for an eventual key starter who is going to contribute significantly as a rookie (unless it's a developmental QB pick sitting behind a quality vet). 4th and 5th rounders I expect to make the roster and at least provide serviceable depth for awhile and hopefully develop into more. 6th and 7th rounders are flyers IMO. If you get anything out of them, great. But expectations should be pretty damn low. -
Next round of contract extensions are no joke

Yep. Bad teams tend to stay bad in large part because they often squander the premium picks their sucking lands them. -

I don't know what happened, I just hope he bounces back strong. I absolutely think he has what it takes to be a top flight NFL DT. -
Yeah, Mills is a fairly promising prospect IMO. I really liked the guy and I wouldn't have been shocked if we picked him had he lasted a few more spots.

Hell, if the list kept going I might take anyone from 60-70 over Darnold.

Not sure how this Brown vs. Burns argument came to light anyway. The Burns long-term decision is this year. Brown still has two more years and then a potential third via the fifth year option. There's no pressing decision on Brown at all. -
I have two similar sized snapping turtles in my pond. They must both be males or females because no more are showing up. As long as it stays those two I'm cool. But I don't want a whole pond full of them.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Brown bounce back nicely. Seems like everyone has forgotten that he had a pretty promising rookie season. I expect the DL to take a step back in rushing the passer but take a significant step forward stopping the run. Having Reddick and Burns at DE gives you some serious speed to get after the QB with the serious tradeoff that your lacking significantly in run stuffing ability. -
The WNC buyer's market is almost all outsiders. The property next door just went for $1.2M to horse nuts from Florida. Zestimate on our place has jumped to almost $650k. We bought it for $380k last year. The 3 bed 2 bath 2000 square foot house on 3/4 acre I sold in CO two years ago is estimated at almost $850k.

LeSean McCoy goes off on Eric Bieniemy
LinvilleGorge replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
There's clearly a reason why he's not getting HC offers. Reid's last OC (Nagy) flopping spectacularly doesn't help his case. But there's gotta be more than just that. He's not interviewing well and/or teams are digging up stuff that turns them off... or maybe they all just find a candidate they simply prefer. Sure seems like there's something else though with as many times as he's been considered and passed over, then again Ron Rivera found himself in that same spot for years before we finally hired him. -
At some point it has to. There comes a point where housing is just unaffordable for the masses and the folks planning on bailing out of expensive markets and heading to less expensive markets flush with cash have already made that move.

Identity was a great movie that seems forgotten. Wild Hogs is still one of my favorite bad movies.

It is impossible not to contribute to oil companies in some manner in today's environment. That's just reality. But there's a big difference between that and being an active stockholder. You can't with any shred of intellectual honesty claim to give a single fug about the environment while holding big oil stock in the same way that you can't claim to give a single fug about improving our broken healthcare system while holding big pharma stocks.
