  1. He's a great player but he's pretty significantly undersized. And he's a center. There are plenty of drafts that zero centers go on the 1st. Hell, it might honestly be the norm.
  2. Exactly why I didn't like him as a prospect. None of what he did at OU translated to the NFL. I was concerned he was another Darnold.
  3. I didn't like him because of how OU used him. But I sure wish we had the chance to draft him. That's basically what I mean though. Love 'em or hate 'em as prospects we'll all be a lot better off if we land a legit QB.
  4. He never had a shot. He went one pick ahead of us. Shout-out to all the folks who were excited about the great culture that was being brought in with that meaningless late season win against Rivera's Washington team.
  5. Imagine all these takes in retrospect if we take a LT that busts and leave a guy on the board who becomes a franchise QB.
  6. I do. He can't be. He's not going to magically learn how to read a defense in his fifth NFL season. Darnold's success is entirely reliant on his first read being open. When it is, he looks damn good. He can throw a beautiful ball. Disaster strikes when his first read is covered AND he has time to go through his progression instead of being forced to go to his check down due to pressure - you know. Unfortunately, in a functioning offense that's most of your snaps.
  7. That's basically where we are with Tepper's Panthers. Already looking at the season after this one because it looks hopeless.
  8. Parker basically had one season (2019 - 1202 yards and 9 TDs) out of 7 where he was the NFL WR I thought he was going to be coming out of college.
  9. At least the JR era had sporadic success. Some may not realize it, but the the Tepper era in terms of the W-L percentage is statistically the worst stretch of football in Panthers' history. Worse than Seifert.
  10. If you want a LT, fine. But don't let it delude you into thinking a shiny new LT might make Darnold salvageable. Were you watching him? Most of his worst decisions come when he actually has the time to survey the field.
  11. Mac Jones is what he looked like he was - a very polished but physically limited QB prospect. He's basically Jared Goff.
  12. Very well could happen. BOA will definitely be hosting some home games for opposing teams. So basically business as usual for the Tepper era so far.
  13. There's gonna be trades. I can't see us sitting on our hands as 101 picks get made before we're back on the clock again. If had to make a bet I don't think we ultimately make the selection at #6 overall. We'll trade down for more picks. Rhule is the big wild card. He's gonna be pounding the table for Pickett. Tepper is either gonna have to be willing to tell him to pound sand or the crew is gonna have to convince him he's not worth the #6 overall pick.
  14. Honestly, I kinda think the modern NFL offense tips the scales more toward physical ability and a little bit away from the mental side. Not that the mental side isn't vital (Sam Darnold being Exhibit 1A), but today's spread formations with more options available makes the defenses tip their hand a bit more than in the past and creates more obvious mismatches. Just my opinion. I can see it either way.
  15. Honestly, I think Willis has a significant physical advantage over PJ in every category. I think he's significantly faster, significantly stronger, and has a significant better arm. I mean, if we're talking about comparing the two. Hence why Willis is considered a 1st round prospect while PJ wasn't even a priority UDFA.
  16. PFF is very useful for statistical aggregation. Their grades are... eh... a very mixed bag.
  17. I honestly have no idea what you're talking about.
  18. Hey, based on our last two elections that makes you imminently qualified to be POTUS.
  19. I mean... Yeah. That video is pretty much spot on. Rhule and Darnold are both individually insurmountable issues. Together I'm kinda shocked in retrospect that we actually won a handful of games last year.
  20. Yeah, that's my concern. I figured he'd give it another year with Brady coming back. I hope he's alright.
  21. That's my point. As long as he has final say over the roster I don't think the scouting department really matters all that much. Dumbass gonna dumbass.
