Replace Howell with any other college QB and UNC is worse. He put up very good numbers in the bowl game last year against the best D in the SEC without both RBs and his #1 WR. What really hurt UNC this year was no other WR outside of Downs stepping up. Downs was able to replace Brown in the bowl game last year. But one receiver just isn't enough. Once teams figured out the could double Downs and spy Howell the going got really tough but he still kept the Heels competitive. It's easy to tell the folks that didn't actually watch the game but still want to try to talk.

I hope that's them helping Rhule pack up his poo.

Which is a gigantic red flag. For an OL that looked really good last year, there would've been some early NFL entrants had there been any true talent there. Two NFL RBs just made them look a lot better than they were. Sam Howell and Josh Downs were the entire offense this year.

Oh, he elevated them. That team probably only has 2-3 wins without him. Somehow they managed to be competitive in most every game. Howell = "somehow".

Exactly. That's what I've been telling non-Panthers fan buddies who keep asking me "Is it really THAT bad? I'm not hearing a ton about it other than from you." Urban and his even bigger clown show gave Rhule and company a lot of cover and that cover is gone now.

If Rhule and company are still here, anyone but Sam Howell. If we fire Rhule and send the rest of the clown show packing with him to hire an offensive minded head coach committed to building an NFL caliber OL through any means necessary, Sam Howell.

That my thing. If you're having to force things like this on a coach, you have the wrong coach.

No one with other opportunities is going to come work for this college coach who would be on the hottest seat in the league. The Rhule experiment flopped spectacularly. Time to own it, learn from it, and move the fug on.

Agreed. Stick with Rhule and bring in some other half baked vet cast off to "compete" with Darnold next year and I'm going to be at least as interested in watching Sam Howell's development somewhere else.

It sucks but this is needed. We need this to be the most embarrassing dumpster fire possible. Force Tepper's hand. If Tepper still sticks with Rhule then he's forcing our hand as fans. At some point, Tepper's poo show simply isn't going to be worth following.

If Tepper sticks with Rhule I hope he starts pounding the drum for publico ey for a new stadium and gets told to pound sand. Let him take this franchise elsewhere and let Charlotte have an opportunity for a fresh new NFL start. Because Tepper seems utterly clueless on how to build and maintain a successful football operation.
