  1. Some of those names make no sense IMO. Ertz looks shot and I'd rather just pay and keep Samuel than go after Crowder.
  2. Yep. Listen, I'm pissed we won that game. It really fuged us. But 90% of the blame is on Rivera and his terrible decision. The other 10% is on Haskins and him being terrible. Rivera played a terrible QB when his team was fighting for their playoff life. I mean, Ron Rivera and awful depth chart decisions kinda go hand in hand. We lose that game if he had simply played Heinicke the full game. With Ron choosing to play Haskins there wasn't much we could do to lose that game that wouldn't have been Eagles level blatant tanking and I'm not even confident that would've worked. Haskins was THAT bad.
  3. Yeah, I'm not necessarily saying it IS a red flag, but it's definitely something I'd be talking to him about during the interview process and if I had guys on my staff with any connections to that Oregon staff I'd be talking to them about it too just to get their take on it. Hell, I'd go so far as to feign interest in some other Oregon prospect of I had to just to get the opportunity to throw a Shough question at them
  4. Shough flipped in October. Howell didn't commit until December. Howell was actually committed to FSU at the time so I doubt Howell had anything to do with Shough's decision. I assume both of those decisions were related to the coaching situation at UNC. Fedora was heavily rumored to be fired by UNC leaving Shough not knowing who he might be playing for likely leading him to flipping to Oregon. Mack Brown was hired right before Thanksgiving and a couple of weeks later Howell flips from FSU to UNC. I only see the flip flopping as potentially red flag worthy when it becomes a pattern. Burrow was a transfer. Fields is a transfer. The way guys are transferring around these days it's going to likely become more and more common.
  5. It's kinda getting red flag level on Shough. He was originally committed to UNC. Switched to Oregon. And now he's transferring from Oregon? That's a lot of wishy washiness going on.
  6. Some of these guys are just so arrogant that they can't see anything beyond "muh system".
  7. I hope the Oregon coaches watched him this year and realized how dumb they were for treating him with kid gloves and putting him in an offense with training wheels on it.
  8. If SF moves on from Jimmy G, I'd bet a lot of money on him ending up back in NE.
  9. Go for it. I was wrong about Herbert but in my defense, I fully admitted that I could only judge him based on his play in that offense. I never dreamed a coaching staff would've been so dumb to handcuff a guy who had his ability. Like I said at the time, I had to assume that it was because they didn't trust him with more.
  10. I mean, Fitts said we'd be in on every deal. It never hurts to call and check the temperature. Honestly, that may have been done before we really even did our homework on Wentz and fully broke down his tape from last season. Why bother if you know the price tag is more than you're willing to pay?
  11. I'm just jealous thinking about that level of relief. A good long piss, a sneeze, and an epic fart? All at the same time. That's living right there.
  12. I'd honestly be surprised at even that. I think the entire league expects Teddy and the Panthers to part ways and no one else is interested in Teddy with that contract attached to him. I honestly think it's a Goff situation where he would have negative trade value. We'd literally have to pay someone to take him.
  13. You can't be this dense. The value of the DRAFT PICK is not altered by the PLAYER that is selected at that spot. The draft pick value is the draft pick value. If you have a Hurney who botches it that doesn't make the pick itself any less valuable. By your logic, we should be trading all of our picks straight up for lower picks because hell, we might draft a bust anyway so let's lessen our cap exposure. The reason I'm not considering your point is because it's without merit.
  14. You're not understanding the concept. Draft pick value is real. That is real team building capital. You can make the picks, you can trade the picks, more draft capital means more options. What you're arguing is like saying that you'd just as well rather have less money in the bank because there's a chance you'll piss it all away anyway so why bother? It's just not an intelligent argument to make.
  15. Having a pick higher in the draft order isn't an unknown factor in terms of draft capital.
  16. The draft has been and always will be a complete crap shoot to a certain degree. But there's a reason why the draft pick value chart exists and why the points are skewed heavily toward the top of the draft. The higher you are in the draft order, the better your odds of landing a difference maker. This isn't a difficult concept.
  17. The " win every game no matter what" crowd isn't interested in logic. There's rarely logic in claiming moral high ground in sports fandom.
  18. Wins when you're still in contention aren't bad. When we were 3-2 you're thinking... hmmm, we might be onto something here. That's a lot different than being 4-10.
  19. Hell, I think it's a steal for the Eagles. Wentz looked shot last season.
  20. That haul would sting. If he turned out to be a franchise QB it'd be worth it. If he didn't, Rhule and Fitts probably dug their own grave. If it happens, I hope all the "just win baby" folks look back in pleasure over celebrating that key late season victory over Rivera and the WFT.
  21. I'm kinda all in on Zach Wilson at this point. I've really liked him dating back to November but watching more, dude has Mahomes vibes. I'm not saying he's Mahomes but he has special arm talent. I haven't made the decision between Lance and Fields in part because I just don't care. Go get me Wilson. Take my money. Lawrence is no question the safest QB pick. If he's a bust it'll surprise everyone. BUT, it won't shock me if ten years from now Zach Wilson ends up being the guy. He's just way riskier and if you took him over Lawrence and he didn't work out... oh wee mayne. You might not even be able to get a job so much as talking about football.
  22. I was calling this guy out nearly a long time ago. https://apnews.com/article/new-york-andrew-cuomo-us-news-coronavirus-pandemic-nursing-homes-512cae0abb55a55f375b3192f2cdd6b5 https://www.cnn.com/2021/02/12/us/new-york-aide-apology-covid-deaths-facilities/index.html It's worse than I thought. He needs to be held accountable and CNN's role putting him on TV time and time again to field softball questions from his brother cannot be overlooked.
