Yea Fields was better at running, Stroud is quick within the pocket and good at evading the rush but he’s not going to get many rushing yards. Fields was much better at that

There’s no comparison with Fields beyond the same school. Stroud throws a better ball and Fields was a one read QB. Stroud is the total package.

Nah, many (me included) said Fields was a product of the system and didn’t make reads much in college which wouldn’t translate. He also didn’t throw as well or accurate as Stroud. Many didn’t want us to draft Fields, it’s just the ones that did got loud about it especially once Baker didn’t work out.

The offensive line, which is what this thread is about, has been good all year.

“Burns is similar to Ramsey and Fitzpatrick, and he’s only 24. Good luck getting him.” Some people around here need to pay attention to that last line. Burns is a great player who’s going to be expensive when the time comes and he’s worth it. You don’t trade away premier pass rushers who don’t want to go anywhere.

If we win a playoff game? Sure, give him a consideration. Six or seven more wins? Nah, for that I’d rather get an offensive minded HC, higher potential. Six or seven more wins with this team would be an accomplishment no doubt, but not impressive enough to make me believe he could turn the team into a consistent winner. Worst thing that could happen is we get a franchise QB in the draft and hire a Rivera-like HC that handicaps the potential of the team.

Burns, Brown and Icky look like strong candidates with the only thing maybe holding them back being the good team bias. Horn and Hekker are also decent bets. Possibly Woods

Yep, if that’s what it takes. Good edge rushers don’t grow on trees. We let him walk who knows when we’ll get another one. We won’t reproduce his production in FA for cheaper unless we get super lucky and find someone who was just “misused” on their previous team or strike gold on a draft selection. The good DEs tend to go really high.

As the next top tier DE to get a deal, that’s how it works. He’ll be the highest paid edge til the next one gets a new deal

He played well. Also threw some really off target passes. He is who he is and he played to the high mark of his abilities today. He was efficient overall and can’t ask much more of him than that. Doesn’t change that we need to spend our top pick on a QB though heh

Yea I agree with you but he had a few other good plays too. I don’t all of a sudden think he’s great or anything but he had a really good game.

Even Marshall actually looked decent today. A tough drop early but had some clutch catches later.

Yea we weren’t likely to lose ALL the rest of the games. This is a good one to spend one of our wins on.

They dropped a couple, no more than we did. Just one of theirs happened to be glaring. I saw that one as karma though, Evans knocked his defender to the ground midway through the route, looked like OPI. Defender didn’t just fall over, Evans shoved him.

Lotta people around here got proven wrong today. DJ balled out making people questioning his heart look foolish, Burns was all over the place (can’t stop the run HAH), Brown was the primary force keeping their run game stuffed, Foreman and Hubbard ran like their hair was on fire (making me look foolish for my comments about us obviously needing to spend a mid pick on a RB), OL did great against one of the best DL in the league. Even PJ played really efficient. Still had some terribly off target throws but very positive overall. Lotta heart on this team.

We came out strong today but I doubt it’s sustainable. Even with this win we’ll either still have #1 or close to it. If we don’t get the top QB (Stroud imo) then the second is still a great option (Young). Based on what I’ve seen so far I don’t want Levis really. Still plenty of time to see new production that changes my mind though

Hubbard has had a couple pretty runs so far. Good cut on that one
