  1. I was struggling to find what folks were talking about so I was hoping someone would enlighten me.
  2. That's it? I thought most of the teams in the league had it they way some talk on here.
  3. I'm talking about on any team. I keep hearing that but have yet to see an example. The last high flying offense I've seen was the Rams "Greatest Show on Turf". Since then it's been just average for passing offenses across the league.
  4. I'm waiting for an example of a fancy high flying offense.
  5. Yeah I get those 2 confused sometimes.
  6. Word was that Wilks was going to hire Frank as his OC. I doubt that combination would have changed how the reason ultimately played out.
  7. I'm all for whatever wins games. There's not one single approach to winning games. It varies from game to game. In the nfl you have to be able to run the ball and pass the ball whenever the situation dictates it. Our problem has been that we can do neither very well. Canales has his work cut out for him.
  8. I'm watching Total Access on nfl network and they were discussing Caleb Williams and the Bears. They mentioned that the Bears hired Thomas Brown as their passing game coordinator from the Panthers. They said he could teach them what NOT to do with a rookie QB. I found that an interesting comment.
  9. I've been saying for years that this teams roster was ass. But homer's gonna homer.
  10. I wish I can remember who the commentator was the said what the results were back then. They never show qbs actually doing it and they all do not do it at the same time. I'm not sure why it was brought up anyway but I found it interesting that they were that close. But of those things really matter to you I'm sure you can find it somewhere.
  11. Well I certainly saw it and heard it during the broadcast. I sat through the entire live broadcast that day and when I heard his velocity I was actually shocked it was in the mid 50's. He could have had it measured somewhere else for all I know. Anyway, whatever it was its not far less because that was a concern of mine as well.
  12. It's where they measure the release velocity. Someone posted a snapshot from CJ's. Just look up the results if it concerns you. They just mentioned the top 4 guys velocity results. What I heard there wasn't a lot of difference in the 4. The screen capture showed CJ's so the other 3 did it some point while there. They gave out Young's so he had to do it at some point. I should have said same conditions. They stand at the same line and throw to the same spot.
  13. Losing the Chicago game was the final nail in Frank's coffin. If there was any game he had to win it was that game. You saw what happened.
  14. Frank chose him out of all of his options. His reasoning was for a point guard or the short passing attack style of offense. He only wanted to play at a short to mid level attack. Why? He said that he wanted to keep Young in the "neighborhood" and not out there on the highway. I took that to mean he was limiting the plays. He also didn't want to work on fundamental issues with his qb. What the hell is that all about? He knew what he was working with and made his choices as to how to develop him. If he wanted a more open passing game he should have implemented it and worked on Youngs timing and footwork. Frank obviously didn't. Frank was a fossil and should have never been the one hired to develop a rookie, whether it was Young or someone else.
  15. Every team builds an offense to best fit its players. You don't think that CJ had an offense designed to suit his strengths? Regardless of what you think of Young he's not being treated any different than any other rookie qb. Well except for last season. I do not know what the hell Frank was doing but he sure wasn't helping his rookie qb.
  16. Bryan Burns fans need to watch this.
  17. I don't need someone to tell me how hard Brown plays and how valuable he is to this team. All you have to do is watch him play. But I'll see what this guy has to say anyway.
  18. Did you see that on the broadcast? They showed a brief snippet and posted the speeds. Like I said, Youngs wasn't much slower. If I remember correctly it was 52, 53 or more. I didn't lose sleep over it.
  19. I'm not arguing any of that. All I know is what was posted for their measured ball velocity in a controlled environment.
  20. Their velocity isn't measured during the televised throwing period. It's done separately somewhere else. The posted velocity is the official combine measurement. Argue with them.
  21. When they measure velocity they base it on an average of 3 throws, I think, could be 5. Each qb decides how he throws it. It's not taken from passes in a game. So basing on an "eye test" takes out bias. It's measured by a radar gun in a controlled environment.
  22. It's apparent that many have not looked at his test results. I paid very close attention to those measurable before the draft. Even though he didn't throw before the camera at the combine he did throw to measure his velocity and it was only 2 mph less than CJ's. Of course AR had the strongest arm but only beat CJ by 1 mph. So it's not a velocity issue. I hate that i have to come to the guys defense but if people are going to make bold statements at least get the facts straight.
  23. There's only about 5 or 6 elite qbs in the league. Finding one is pure luck.
