  1. So you're saying we should keep a 3-4 LB because you are afraid you can't do better? Ridiculous. This team needs 2 true DE's and a true backup. Enough of the hybrid bullshit with undersized 3-4 outside LBs. That's a lame excuse to overpay a player that doesn't fit anywhere just because you are concerned you can't get a better player.
  2. This game will have very little, if any at all, in the way of passing due to the weather. Start'em.
  3. I'm going to wait for the new coaching staff and possibly new GM to be hired before I weigh in on Corrals fate. My prediction for the draft will be determined on those transactions as well.
  4. Actually, I hope he does want a big contract. One so large the team can't pay him. Burns is so overrated by this fan base it's ridiculous. I hope the next coach trades his ass for whatever we can get next season.
  5. The thing is McAdoo will not be here next season. So there's that wrinkle in the plan.
  6. I'm not sure if there's a disagreement about who starts or they just didn't rehearse the message to the media. I'm sure if Ben ran things he would have his say on who does what and when. But he's not. It's akin to debating over which rock sinks faster.
  7. I agree with that in theory. But you have to be careful not to throw the baby out with the bathwater. The only thing I agree with Tepper on is his patience with his investment. But there's a limit to how long that should be on a clearly unqualified candidate. As far as any new coaches that interests me I do not have anything to add to that conversation. All I can do is offer a word of advice to those clamoring for a hot OC or DC for that matter. Being a great coordinator does not equate to being a great head coach. There are countless examples of great coordinators throughout history sucking at beinga HC. There's more to chose from sure. But finding a great "Head Coach" to run an nfl team means be great at more than one side of the football game.
  8. Nagy was most likely under pressure to start the kid before he should have. It happens to every coach in that situation eventually. Our new coach will probably be under the same pressure.
  9. You had to see that coming. I spit our my drink when I read his post. I'm still getting a chuckle out of it.
  10. I agree, if you have a staff that can identify said qb. There's been so few coming out that could truly go day 1 since those guys came out however. Waiting for a guy like that is not an option for any team. So you pick among what's available and do what you can to win with that guy. At least we should have a new group of qb's in house so there's that.
  11. If you are brave enough to go to this game and shell out hard earned money to go watch this in the stadium brother be loud and proud.
  12. I'm not seeing a win in there anywhere. But stranger things have happened to us. Out of those 4 our best chance at a win should logically be Detroit as they are Detroit. But this year it's hard to predict. Right now I do not see another win unless its gift-wrapped for them.
  13. It is. It's media driven hype that gets out before the scouting reports start to leak out. That's why I just laugh the hype driven stuff off most of the time. You have to let it play out and wait for the real scouting reports to leak out and not the media blowhards take.
  14. No he wasn't loved by everyone. That happens with every class. It was not unique to Cam. But he was the best in his class coming out. That is where it starts. Determine where the candidate ranks among "his" class and then determine whether you want to get him or take a shot on a lesser rated classmate. It's the same with every draft class.
  15. It not so much that we should believe in him but rather we should seriously see what if anything you have in him by giving him a real chance to compete. If they do not then that pick we gave up was a wasted pick.
  16. Lawrence had the misfortune of landing with the Jags at the worst possible time. He was without a doubt the best qb in his draft. But that doesn't guarantee success for him or even the team that selected him. It comes down to who's developing him to play the position and how he handles the role he's been put in. He's been set back in his development there's no doubt about that.
  17. It always is,until they actually play the season out and reality sets in. That's why you have to have good scouts and especially a great qb coach that can make chicken salad out of chicken sh*t. Without those 2 things you get a revolving door at the qb position like we've experienced thus far.
  18. That's fan driven mostly. If you put a rookie out there before he's ready it is as bad as if not worse for an organization than not having him in the first place. Not only did you waste the pick you've also set your team back trying to appease the fans and the media. I see no day 1 starting qb's in this draft unfortunately. I wish there were at least 3 but it is what it is. I just hope that whoever we take between him and Corral we get a good qb out of one of them. I personally hate to see another useless vet brought in to hold the fort until we find out if our 2 draft picks are worth anything, especially Corral. But i know my opinion is mine alone and I'm sure one will be signed because I cannot have it both ways lol.
  19. Honestly, there's no clear cut leader so far. That tells me that it just comes down to how much risk you are willing to take on one of them over another top candidate somewhere else.
