  1. I'm not seeing a win in there anywhere. But stranger things have happened to us. Out of those 4 our best chance at a win should logically be Detroit as they are Detroit. But this year it's hard to predict. Right now I do not see another win unless its gift-wrapped for them.
  2. It is. It's media driven hype that gets out before the scouting reports start to leak out. That's why I just laugh the hype driven stuff off most of the time. You have to let it play out and wait for the real scouting reports to leak out and not the media blowhards take.
  3. No he wasn't loved by everyone. That happens with every class. It was not unique to Cam. But he was the best in his class coming out. That is where it starts. Determine where the candidate ranks among "his" class and then determine whether you want to get him or take a shot on a lesser rated classmate. It's the same with every draft class.
  4. It not so much that we should believe in him but rather we should seriously see what if anything you have in him by giving him a real chance to compete. If they do not then that pick we gave up was a wasted pick.
  5. Lawrence had the misfortune of landing with the Jags at the worst possible time. He was without a doubt the best qb in his draft. But that doesn't guarantee success for him or even the team that selected him. It comes down to who's developing him to play the position and how he handles the role he's been put in. He's been set back in his development there's no doubt about that.
  6. It always is,until they actually play the season out and reality sets in. That's why you have to have good scouts and especially a great qb coach that can make chicken salad out of chicken sh*t. Without those 2 things you get a revolving door at the qb position like we've experienced thus far.
  7. That's fan driven mostly. If you put a rookie out there before he's ready it is as bad as if not worse for an organization than not having him in the first place. Not only did you waste the pick you've also set your team back trying to appease the fans and the media. I see no day 1 starting qb's in this draft unfortunately. I wish there were at least 3 but it is what it is. I just hope that whoever we take between him and Corral we get a good qb out of one of them. I personally hate to see another useless vet brought in to hold the fort until we find out if our 2 draft picks are worth anything, especially Corral. But i know my opinion is mine alone and I'm sure one will be signed because I cannot have it both ways lol.
  8. Honestly, there's no clear cut leader so far. That tells me that it just comes down to how much risk you are willing to take on one of them over another top candidate somewhere else.
  9. It happens every year. Predicting what qb's will emerge as top candidates a year early is a fools errand. You have to let it play out in the year they come out and the last game is played. Then you will see who rises to the top.
  10. I think you will. There's just too much desperation for qb help that teams will take 2 easily. We are going to be one of those teams.
  11. We are so qb poor that you all should hope that the kid is a capable backup at minimum. Even if we draft a qb he will not be starting right away. There's not a qb in this draft that should be a day 1 starter. I'm also not on the sign a vet train ride just yet as that has worked out so well for us. What I see as ultimately playing out is that we take one of the qb's in the 1st. It doesn't matter which one because neither will start right away. That will be Corrals opportunity to make his case for the starting job. It's in all our best interest for him to be more than a wasted draft pick at a critical position. To rely on the next draft pick to be the quy without seeing what you have in the only qb you've drafted since Cam Newton is a serious waste of resources. Something like that does not instill faith that the FO could draft and develop a qb even if they were handed one.
  12. As long as we're not the team to give him that contract I really do not care what someone else is willing to pay him. This is a bad investment for us.
  13. What is happening to this team is not tanking. We are just a bad team ran by bad coaches hired by a bad owner.
  14. Hate? Noone hates him you goof. He's overrated sure but I've seen no hate. Unless you consider anything short of licking his ass hate?
  15. I'm not so sure they think of it that way. I truly believe Wilks wants to evaluate everyone that's not a starter to determine who stays and who goes. I get the sense that not everyone agrees in who should be starting. He even said as much in his first press conference. Having said that, I'm not sure why PJ is getting the opportunity to get more audition tape. I guess Baker and Sam have enough already and neither are staying after this season so it kinda makes sense. It falls in line with what he's said already. Or he's just trolling the fans. You decide I guess.
  16. That's how the Panthers use him and you see how well that's going. He's a LB and no amount of hope and hype is going to change that. If the FO pays Burns like a DE then every single person involved with that decision should be fired.
  17. Anytime you can trade a LB for 2 1sts and a 2nd you do that without hesitation. We need DE's, true DE's. Not 3-4 outside linebackers.
  18. A full time coach sure. Wilks is an interm coach on a team where everyone and their mothers know that the entire staff is going to be let go after the season. What's the point?
  19. It may indeed be a charade. This isn't really necessary from my perspective to continue that. But I suppose since they gave the last coach full control it makes sense Wilks gets free reign to does as he sees fit with the staff. If he starts firing staff after each loss he may find himself the only coach left on staff by the end of the season.
  20. This is interesting. Why would it matter to him at this point what coaches are retained? Unless he was asked to evaluate the entire staff by Tepper or Fitterer? I mean they are all dead men walking and Wilks understands that, right?
  21. He took it for the money obviously. Easy way to make some vacation money for next summer.
  22. It was never off. It was an inevitable conclusion that was predicted from the start.
  23. I'm fine with this for some sadistic reason.
