  1. People don’t seem to understand how limited this roster is offensively. Our QB room is bottom 2 in the league with Houston, we have absolutely zero receiving threats at tight end and we have a #1 receiver who’s really #2 guy at best. Wilks nor any other coach can make that offense look explosive. He did a great job with what he had.
  2. We had one of the most prolific offensive seasons ever under a defensive head coach. Do you guys really think that Burrow and Mahomes etc are really good because they have “offensive coaches.” McVay is an offensive genius and looks like dogshit without a good QB this year. Whoever is the coach needs to fix the offensive personnel and the team will be good and have a chance to win a lot of games. You don’t need a 35 year old offensive coordinator to win.
  3. I want to know what football people are helping with this decision because it sounds a lot like the way he went about the process last time. Mr self-assured. https://www.si.com/nfl/2019/12/12/david-tepper-carolina-panthers-cam-newton-head-coach-search-nfl-meetings Tepper’s not hiring help. Many new owners will reach out and hire search firms (like Korn Ferry) or well-worn advisors (like Ron Wolf or Ernie Accorsi). In some cases it’s to give them cover in the face of inexperience—if things go wrong, it’s much easier to explain it if you have somewhere to point the finger. Tepper, to his credit, has no plans to go that route So as they’ve gotten going, and the Panthers are starting to narrow their list, and doing all kinds of background work (one advantage to moving on from Rivera when they did was being able to start in earnest on that), Tepper himself is running point. “It’ll be primarily by the organization,” he said. “That doesn’t mean I won’t have a couple people I might listen to. If I talk to a couple of my fellow owners about different things, it doesn’t mean I won’t do that. But if you’re asking about formally hiring a search firm, I don’t think we’ll be formally hiring a search firm. That doesn’t mean I won’t talk to people who may be at search firms, that doesn’t mean I won’t talk to other owners.
  4. I think with wilks all year we either win the division or are competing for the last wild card spot. I’d give us two more wins (Cleveland and Arizona) to get to 9-8.
  5. He’s also a UNC grad which I didn’t realize. Bonus for being a local guy.
  6. This is basically a bills forum anyway. But I’d like to see them win. Sorta had a soft spot for them since they lost 4 SBs in a row.
  7. Yeah Bears “fans.” They’re coming off a 3 win season and haven’t won a playoff game in 12 years. They drafted a QB top 5 with trubisky. How did that work out? They won 3 less games this year with fields in year 2. Wanting to lose games is for losing franchises and fans who don’t have a clue how teams are built. I’ll let the front office figure out QB and enjoy wins.
  8. You don't play sports to lose. The Texans rallied in the fourth quarter to "lose" the #1 pick today. No one cares about draft position except fans.
  9. If piniero had made that same kick in Atlanta we’d be in the playoffs now.
  10. Good to see we’re playing our usual A game in the superdome.
  11. Where is roger goodell? He’s the commissioner. How much is Vincent being paid to take these bullets for the shield?
  12. The only two options are playing tomorrow or declaring a tie in my opinion. A tie obviously creates a competitive disadvantage for the bengals especially but that seems the more likely choice at this point.
  13. I’m not worried about him wearing out his welcome. 5-6 years is a pretty long term tenure for an NFL coach. Unless you’re Jeff fisher that means you made the playoffs multiple seasons and at least looked like a contender at a minimum.
  14. Consistent with earlier reports that he wasn’t breathing on his own. This doesn’t sound good at all.
  15. This might be what finally pushes it over the top. The head injury documentaries didn’t quite do it. And honestly if a 24 year old dies during a game on what seemed to be a routine but hard hit I don’t see how the NFL easily overcomes the optics of it.
  16. Pro game? Some guy from the lions died in the 50s on the field of a heart attack. As bad as it sounds I’ve always figured it was only a matter of time before we saw a death in an NFL game. I hope this isn’t the time but these guys are so big and fast it almost seems inevitable.
  17. Yea this isn’t 2012 Brady or the patriots. He’s lost a of games this year in really ugly and unprecedented fashion. This is a a case of having some really special CBs. We should have made adjustments to slow down Evans but the reality is the horn injury (thanks Chinn) cost us this game. Neither CJ Henderson nor Keith Taylor should be on this team or any team next year and they were CB1 and CB2 today. If you took away positions they are comparable in NFL level skill to Nate Chandler. Henderson is benwekiere.
  18. Sorry for the loss man. Good post for perspective. None of these players care about any of us or even know who we are. It really seems odd that we get so wrapped up in the outcome of a game. Ultimately none of it matters or affects our life in any tangible way nor should it.
  19. This was the game plan against trubisky as well. LMAO
  20. He’s been nonexistent all year until he saw Henderson.
