I am going to say it--why are we still trying to develop Deonte Brown? I watched him when he was in this preseason--pretty awful--isn't this year 3 for him?
-
yes, and I think it could be his best position. (Mays) In my limited viewing, Zavala looked very strong, especially considering he was playing the right side. Jensen is going to be a keeper--pretty solid depth. If the veteran depth we had was Erving, McCray, Tecklenburg, and Jordan, give me the young, hungry, developmental guys.

I am with you. I know that Ekwonu likes him, if that helps.

I don't think Ray or Thurmond have played in the NFL yet. Update: Thurmond 137 total snap counts with 7 tackles--career

If we keep Lee and do not address T, remember what I have been saying---Zavala to LG when Corbett returns and BC to swing OT. If Moton does not rework his 2024 contract ($30m), BC becomes the 2024 RT. Gotta think long term. Lee is only here until Corbett gets back because they need BC at LG for now.
-
This is not at all what I expected. Bryan Ray, Nick Thurmond make the team. Of course, a lot can happen, but Lee is the swing OT? I think (now) they have to be planning on moving BC to T when Corbett returns.

I can try, but he marches to the beat of his own accordion.

i was shocked to see Blacklock's name -- former first rounder, I think. (40th overall pick)--played very little last season. Classic bust.

Mr Scot is slipping. Just when we counted on him the most too.
-
He was competing for the starting position at one point.

I guess this proves that anyone can look like a genius with the GOAT at QB. BB has always made questionable draft decisions as the de facto GM.
-
I agree on all counts. Does not know a bear from a Panther--and he plays for the Panthers. Even if you were confused, you could probably guess that a stuffed bear would not be at a Panther game.
-
Gotta be Thurmond, Lee, and Sullivan--but who is Mabin? Ray? I think they (Mabin, and Ray) will make the roster somehow.
-
The contract we gave him was ridiculous.
-
So does that mean 2 players will be cut during practice (before 4 pm)?
-
That seems to be a double-edged sword. Sure, you are hiding your starters, but the chemistry and game experience keeps the rust away. I dunno--with 17 games, maybe he is onto something.
-
No idea. Saw his photo on the roster---I was confused.

1 year, $5m--I would say, "no."

In fairness, I think our preseason coverage sucks balls. They spend a LOT of camera time on the sidelines switching to the play just before the snap, then show the replays sparingly. The announcers are talking about 2017. I rarely saw what the defensive backfield was doing and could not see who was in the game at OL for the most part. I got frustrated. And then in the fourth quarter, they grab some established player and have a 10 minute interview with him while the game is being played--those are the people fighting for roster spots--that is when I WANT to be watching preseason football.

D Williams is a veteran who had 4.5 sacks at Denver last year--very familiar with our DC. He makes the roster. YGM has played inside--there is some talk about him being a situational pass rushing 3Tech. If so, his versatility could be valued.
-
My opinions (no more valued than anyone else's): We are not adding to the TE room this year--we are subtracting, if anything. Sullivan is probably gone with Ricci staying on (I hope) We are going to be looking at CB, RB, and DL--possibly ILB.

At least we can say that we improved today--by cutting Jordan. Addition by subtraction.

I get the feeling that there will be some additions tomorrow.
