  1. 3 QBs go in top 6; 4 in top 12. The mock for those who think QBs will go early and often. https://www.nfl.com/news/four-round-2022-nfl-mock-draft-1-0-qbs-malik-willis-kenny-pickett-go-top-three It could happen folks. I doubt it, but it could.
  2. I think the Steelers love Willis--and if Willis is available, we can get #20 and #52 and the 2023 first rounder. That is huge because the Steelers are likely to finish at the bottom in 2022--especially with a raw, developing QB. THAT would give the Panthers 2 early first round picks next year if they don't find a QB this year. I think it is a long-term play, but it is the play to make if Pittsburgh decides to get ahead of Atlanta (8) and Seattle (9).
  3. Didn't Fitterer say that the coaching changes were the biggest moves they have made so far? McAdoo! Earn it buddy.
  4. Can anyone tell me the significance of November 4, 2018? It is the last time Cam won a game for the Panthers. As much as I loved his game, all good things must come to an end. 11/4/18 was the end of the Cam run. Sad to see, but 4 years later, people are still screaming for him.
  5. We just had a run on QBs in free agency. We had Wentz get traded to the Commandos, Ryan moved on to Indy, we had Wilson move on to Denver, We had the Browns give Watson $230m--Trubiski was signed by the Steelers. The Dirty Birds signed a backup in Mariota. There are still 2 teams (Seattle and Carolina) without a real QB and they would rather sit tight than to make a move. Of the available QBs, two involve trades---but not Cam. Cam requires no trade and could be signed for pennies on the dollar compared to these guys. 32 teams with about 90 roster spots dedicated to QB, and Cam's phone is not ringing. Are you sure that he is not done? Cam deserves our respect, but he is not on the NFL radar at this time.
  6. There actually is a way, but it is unlikely. That is why I made 9 wins the peak--the best we could possibly do--
  7. I am with you---Willis could go to the Lions, Texans, or the #5 spot (because if he is still there, the Seahawks or the Steelers will trade up to get him before us. Sauce, Hamilton, Hutchinson, Willis should go top 5--that leaves one pick not named "Neal" and he is ours for the picking.
  8. I am not sure this is the thread, but since trade down was mentioned, I am entitled. I am going to unfold several layers here---so stay with me: Based on circumstantial (perhaps meaningless) information garnered by watching the Fitterer Presserer, Fitterer mentioned that the Panthers tried to take Corral out to eat in Mississippi. He did not mention Pickett, and we know the Steelers took Willis out to dinner; he did not mention Willis either. We also know that Chris Simms rated Corral as his #1 QB, so it is possible that some experts like him. Since Corral was injured in his bowl game and did not participate in the combine, he is way under the radar. If the fact that the Panthers inquired about going out to dinner with Corral, is that to suggest that someone who picks before #6 also asked him? Ok, then does it suggest that our interest in Corral goes deeper than a "passing fancy" (that pun was awesome). I think the desire to take him to dinner suggests a serious look, and then I bring in the fact that the Panthers feel that there is (at least one) guy in the draft at QB that "checks all the boxes." Is that guy Corral? If so, does that mean they think they can trade back five spots or so and add a second rounder--and still grab their QB? Is that what Fitterer, the draft day trade guru, is hoping to do? Hmmm. If Willis goes off the board by the time the Panthers pick, that would leave 2 QBs Pickett and Corral there at #6 (it is possible all three are there, making the trade back more lucrative), could we trade back and still get our QB? Discuss.
  9. People come up to me on the streets and ask, "MHS831, do you think Darnold will be the QB in 2022?" I giggle, fake a deep thought, and then reply, "no." I give Darnold a 50% chance of being on the roster. True Story. We just re-signed or extended Moore. I sensed a lot of frustration in Moore last year. Would he have re-signed here without some assurances that we are getting a better QB?
  10. O gotta admit--if we drafted Evan Neal, I would be elated--I want a QB because we need a QB, but I realistically know that the QB we'd draft has long odds to overcome--Neal is ready to be elite now. Here is what you don't want to hear: The pieces we have in place now will make Darnold better---does that mean he wins more games? I see us peaking around 9-8 if all goes well.
  11. When those picks come up, just shout "Darnold!" and then "Henderson!" That will fulfill you.
  12. I think Elf will be the C and Bozeman will play LG--but if we add a T, BC to LG and Bozeman to C. So I am pulling for the LT addition
  13. That was the thought I could not get out of my head. I think they like the fact that Willis stole the show--knowing that he will probably be drafted first.
  14. I used "smokescreen" in one post---can't believe a word. It does, however, seem to signify the "end" of the free agency frenzie for us-so maybe they were signaling the agents of Duane Brown, Stephon Gilmore, etc? Who knows.
  15. He did not show us the team's xrays, but I think he basically said,"We'd like to upgrade the pass rush, add a LT--but we are taking a QB."
  16. Thanks for the insights from your perspective. Since he mentioned that Luvu and Haynes would step up for the loss of Reddick, I think it is T or QB. He mentioned BC's flexibility and then mentioned Elf, Corbett, Bozemen, and Moton by name---I think it means "We are going with BC at LT for now, but would like to add a player if we can. he spent a lot of time talking about QBs on rookie contracts and compared them to Seattle with Russell Wilson---I think he basically told us, "We'd like another pass rusher and a LT, but we are better in those areas now and people will have to step up. We are drafting a QB." If we miss, we will draft a QB again. So I respectfully disagree, but it could be a case of hearing what I wanted to hear.
  17. A month before the draft---did you expect to see blueprints?
  18. Here is my take: Offensive Tackle: We are better up front (OL) but would like to add 1 more player. Talked about BC's versatility, so he is saying, "If a LT does not happen, we can go with what we have now." Mentioned Elf, Bozeman, Moton, and Corbett--and BC's flexibility. Sd OL has more depth. I think we could be set on the OL and this did not sound as if we were targeting a T at the moment--smokescreen? Edge: Mentioned that Luvu and Haynes flashed and played better with reps. Sd they need to step up. I am not sure we are going to draft or sign an edge with the #6 pick. QB: We are drafting a QB. Basically, my take is this--we are going to start with Sam Darnold and feel that the team has been built around him--something that was missing last year. Sam will have competition. That competition will be Willis, Pickett, or Corral, in my opinion. When asked about drafting a QB: He said, you do not want to reach, but you have to take swings at the QB position. Also, he talked about building a team around a QB on a rookie salary. Compared to Seattle/Russell Wilson.
  19. I heard that Tomlin is in love with the kid and will do what he has to do---so we shall see---If the Giants get the #7, #20 and many other picks or players, they can be persuaded--I think that is what they are announcing, but that far? Good point.
  20. Seattle, Pittsburgh I would say are the biggest 2--
