  1. I Have: 1. Jags--Neal OT 2. Lions--Hutchinson DE 3. Texans--Hamilton S (This one is bothering me, fwiw. could be DT Davis or DE Thibodeaux--they play in a division with strong running games, so Davis could be the call) 4. Jets--Stingley CB 5. Giants--Ekwonu OT
  2. DE Hutchinson will be gone by pick 2. OT Neal will be gone by pick 5 That is about all I feel confident about. I think it is possible that someone reaches for Jordan Davis. Hamilton, Stingley, Ekwonu are probable players that go top 5. So for us, it is either trade back, take Cross or a pass rusher, or draft a QB.
  3. Buy High, sell low. That is what we'd be doing.
  4. As much as I hate to sound like Rhule (making excuses for his indecision) he can play both LG and C at a high level. So if all we get is what we have, I see BC at LT and Bozeman at RG. I really want Bozeman to be the C, however.
  5. that video was more about the Green bay blocking scheme that analyzing the QB
  6. Does all this mean the intent is to play BC at LG? It sure seems that way--not seeing any attempt to sign a LG--unless Bozeman was the LG signing and we are going to war with Elf at C.
  7. I saw Pickett's highlights and there is a lot to like--but it seems that every great throw was from a clean pocket. If they draft him and start him, they better not have him running for his life.
  8. He allowed 8 sacks in 2021--that is one every 2 games and Russell was the QB. His PFF grade was 71, however. I think they will offer a 1-year deal, not a 2-year deal. Play BC at LG and move him to LT in 2023? Just a hunch.
  9. The 2 OL: Huge upgrades. Going from suckass to above average is great. Wish Bozeman were on a 3-year deal, but that will come. The S: I am concerned that he is going to play free safety when his is much better vs the run (or I would assume, in the box). His 58 grade in coverage is concerning. The P: Getting worse since 2013, but is average of late. The RB: Entering his prime and he will be liked. The DL: Situational pass rushing DT from the 3 or 5 tech. If we ask him to do more, we get burned. The LB: Not impressed. Maybe in our scheme he can be good, and I am convinced that I could have suited up and played in front of Carter. The WR: Camp fodder. OVERALL: We helped 40% of the offensive line (going from bad to above average). We helped the run game with Foreman--he is going to beast. We are better at S because Woods is better than Burris. Beyond that, we replaced the quality of players we lost. I still think this free agency was successful if we can add a third OL--free agency or draft.
  10. If going after a backup is what they want to do, I would rather they went after Mishew than Love. I still think we draft one--even if we sign a backup.
  11. Love has not looked good when he has played. I would rather have Minshew, to be honest.
  12. It is best not to try to break "insider information" unless you have some tweet or other form of confirmation to share with it. There are too many trolls out there with this kind of crap-so where exactly did you come across this information?
  13. That makes him better than Carter. I think our ILB is not asked to cover like one would if we played the Tampa 2. I am thinking they simply need a "C Gap to C Gap" thumper.
  14. After this spending spree, I would not be surprised to see them going with a LG and BC at LT.
  15. I think they are going to sign a veteran and draft a QB. Fitzmagic would not cost a draft pick (trade), but Minshew would, but they will go after Minshew. We are far from being settled at QB. Needs: QB, LB, Edge, OL---still
  16. I just want a QB so damn bad. I would even take him if there was a 30% chance he'd become a good one. I think, once we add a Left offensive side lineman, that we may have the foundation for making a serious run.
  17. at the beginning of the day, I was not on board with Pickett. But watching this highlight video (and I get that is what it is) I look for things like release and feet. This guy has great feet (Cam's were terrible, fwiw) and his release is quick. He seems to be reading the defense and making decisive throws. I am in.
  18. I like this thought-- I am starting to think they are going to draft Pickett.
  19. For you Pickett fans or those who missed his combine (click "watch on youtube":
  20. I watched UNC football a good bit in 2020, but did not have time in 2021--I still find it difficult to believe that Howell dropped off the radar when he and Rattler (another issue) were #1 and #2. Part of me says that he would be good with a strong supporting cast (as we seem to have now). Again, I am not the expert and I honestly think the situation most first rounders enter has more to do with their success than anything. I mean, does anyone here think Mac Jones in New England is better than Trevor Lawrence in Jacksonville? (I endorsed Jones on the Huddle and the reaction from some of you vermin sent me to therapy.) PFF Scores--Lawrence 59, Jones 79. So who the hell knows? I do think that a few years in a bad situation makes you gun shy, you lose the trust in your WRs, the internal clock gets very loud, you force things when playing from behind, etc.
  21. For what it is worth, I had my reservations about Justin Herbert and Josh Allen. So I am staying out of this.
  22. My bad. Heard it here second. That could be the move. And then draft Willis? Interesting move. I like it.
  23. You could be right. To me, that makes the most sense, based on Fitterer's comment. Willis is just too raw.
  24. Some of us want a QB at #6, some of us want a T or a pass rusher. There are about 40 days between now and the draft, so the current picture will be a bit more clear by the time draft day rolls around. Yesterday, however, during the biggest flood of free agent signings in Panther history, Newton wrote an article about the "Post Watson" QB search. Toward the end of that article, he mentioned that Fitterer is going to Liberty's pro day Tuesday and the Pittsburgh's after that. Sure, due diligence, but then there was this: "The Panthers also believe this quarterback class is better than critics say."--David Newton “I think there's a good franchise player at six in this draft without identifying who they might be,’’ --Fitterer at the NFL combine. I gasped. Was he baiting a trade back offer? Does he think there is a 'franchise quarterback" in this draft? Did we see his cards, or was this a bluff? I was dumbfounded, so I gasped once more. I think it is important to note that at the combine, we were still targeting D. Watson, and at the combine, you only talk about the players there--and if they mentioned some other free agents by name, it could (theoretically) hurt their position with Watson. So for those of you who want Minshew, his name has come up in a few articles. We inquired about him last year. More QB ramblings: Expect suddenly homeless Baker Mayfield to try to get a deal done in Indy (Baker's request) or Seattle (my guess). The Browns will demand a second and maybe a fourth, according to SI, but they need him gone and the cap room that would create-- a trade of Mayfield would save them almost $19m. The Panthers have (reportedly) expressed no interest in Baker. Expect Crablegs Winston to stay in Nawlins. Forget Jimmy G--his shoulder surgery will take 4 months to heal. He may end up in Indy but at that salary, he will be hard to trade from the operating table. There is some noise that Matt Ryan is pissed off and may want out, but the Falcons can't move that salary--the contract will bind them together. So that leaves the Panthers with an attempt to trade for Minshew or draft a QB if they decide to make a move. They spent most of their available cap room on Friday, so I am of the mindset that it has come down to one of three options: Trade for and sign Minshew (would Philly take a fourth rounder? that is all we really have in 2022, but Philly does not need 2022 picks) Draft a QB (Willis is my guess, at #6, but they seem to like Pickett too) Trade back, stay with Darnold, and maybe draft your backup QB (Strong, Ridder, for example). Longshot? 39-year old Ryan Fitzpatrick on a 1-year deal. Heard it here first.
